Abstract

This study aims to determine the diversity of weeds and their competition with sweet corn and to determine the interaction between organic fertilizer sources and compound fertilizer doses on the growth and yield of sweet corn. The research was conducted from June to December 2022 at Giwangan, Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta. The study was arranged in a RCBD with two factors. The first factor is the source of organic fertilizer, cow manure (K1), chicken manure (K2), and compost (K3). The second factor is the dose of compound fertilizer, the dose of NPK fertilizer 100 kg/ha (N1), 150 kg/ha (N2), and 200 kg/ha (N3). The observed variables consisted of growth variables, such as fresh weight per plant and dry weight per plant and yield variables, such as weed identification, fresh weight per plant, dry weight per plant, corncob weight, yield of sweet corn per hectare, and weed competition index. Data of observation result were analyzed using variance at 5% level, followed by DMRT at α = 5%. The results of the analysis showed that the weeds growing on the sweet corn were weeds of the Poaceae family with an average competition index of 0.38. There was no interaction between the source of organic fertilizer and the dose of NPK compound fertilizer on the growth and yield of sweet corn. Sources of organic fertilizer had no effect on the growth and yield of sweet corn. NPK fertilizer doses had no effect on the growth and yield of sweet corn. Source of organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer doses had no effect on the control on the growth variable but had an effect on the yield variable which was indicated by a decrease in sweet corn yields per hectare of ±38%, from 12.08 tons per ha to 7.21 tons per ha. Keywords : Sweet corn, integrated fertilizer, weed identification, competition index

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of giving quail manure bokashi fertilizer doses and rabbit urine liquid fertilizer on the yield of cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis L.). This research was conducted from December 2022 to March 2023 in the yard which is located in Rejowinangun Village, Kotagede District, Special Region of Yogyakarta, with an altitude of 98 m above sea level, has a temperature of 27OC to 33OC. This study used a 3 x 2 factorial experiment, which was arranged in a Randomized Complete Block Design(RBCD) with 4 replications. The first factor was the dose of quail manure bokashi fertilizer which consisted of three levels: the dose of quail manure bokashi fertilizer was 5 tons/ha (B1), the dose of quail manure bokashi fertilizer was 10 tons/ha (B2), and the dose of quail manure bokashi fertilizer was 15 tons/ha. ha (B3). The second factor was rabbit urine liquid fertilizer (K0) which consisted of two levels: without the aplication of rabbit urine liquid fertilizer of 600 ml/ 1 liter of water per plot (K1). Data were analyzed using variance to determine the effect of treatment on variables then followed by DMRT (Duncan's Multiple Range Test). Parameters observed were leaf number, leaf length, leaf width, leaf chlorophyll content, stem diameter, flower diameter, flower length, and flower fresh weight. The results showed that three was no interaction between the dose of rabbit urine liquid fertilizer on the yield (fresh weight of flower). And adminstration between doses of quail manure bokashi fertilizer and aplication of rabbit urine liquid fertilizer did not significantly affect on the yield (fresh weight of flowers). Keywords: Quail Manure Bokashi Fertilizer, Rabbit Urine POC, Cauliflower

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of giving different concentrations of rabbit urine and quail manure compost on the chlorophyll content of leaves and the yield of Cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis L.). The study was conducted in the residential area of RT16/RW.05, Rejowinang Village, Kota Gede Subdistrict, Yogyakarta, Special Region of Yogyakarta. This research was conducted from December 2022 to March 2023. The study employed a 3 × 2 factorial experiment arranged in a Complete Randomized Block Design (CRBD) with four replications. The first factor consisted of three levels of rabbit urine concentration: K0 = control (without rabbit urine concentration), K1 = 30% concentration, K2 = 60% concentration. The second factor involved two levels of quail manure compost dosage: B1 = 5 tons/ha → 1.2 kg/plot, B2 = 15 tons/ha → 3.6 kg/plot. The research results indicate that there is no interaction between the concentrations of rabbit urine and the dosage of quail manure on the chlorophyll content of leaves and the yield of Cabbage plants. The treatments of rabbit urine concentrations (K0), (K1), and (K2) did not show a significantly difference in the chlorophyll content of leaves and the yield of Cabbage plants. Similarly, the dosages of quail manure compost (B1) and (B2) did not show any significantly difference in the chlorophyll content of leaves and the yield of Cabbage plants. Keywords: Cabbage, Rabbit urine POC, Quail manure compost

Abstract

This study aims to determine the source of organic fertilizer and the correct dose of NPK fertilizer that can increase the growth and yield of sweet corn, and to determine the interaction between the source of organic fertilizer and dose of NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of sweet corn. This research was conducted in June – December 2022, located in Giwangan, Yogyakarta. This research was arranged using RCBD with 2 factors. First factor is the source of organic fertilizer consisting of chicken manure, cow manure, and household waste compost. Second factor was the dose of NPK fertilizer which consisted of 100 kg/ha, 150 kg/ha, and 200 kg/ha. The variables obeserved include growth variables consisting of plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, plant fresh weight, plant dry weight, and chlorophyll content and yield variables consisting of plant fresh weight, plant dry weight, cob weight, cob diameter, yield per hectare, number of rows of seeds on the cob, and fruit sweetness level. Data analysis used was a 5% level of variance followed by a 5% DMRT test. The result showed that there was no interaction with all variables, except for the level of sweetness of the fruit. Organic fertilizer sources have no effect on all variables. NPK fertilizer dose treatment didn’t affect all variables. The combination of treatments with organic fertilizer sources (chicken manure, cow manure, compost) and NPK fertilizer doses (100, 150, 200) kg/hashowed no effect on the control of growth variables, but had an effect on yield variables. Keywords: source of organic fertilizer, dose of NPK fertilizer, growth and yield, sweet corn.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of the right number of seeds and doses on NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of sweet corn plants and to determine the interaction between the number of seed and to the dose of compound fertilizer on the growth and yield of sweet corn plants. The research was conducted from June to December 2022 in Giwangan, Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta. The research is arranged in RAKL with two factors. The first factor is the number of seeds per planting hole, namely on seed per planting hole (D₁), and two seeds per planting hole (D₂). the second factor is the dose of compound fertilizer, namely the dose of NPK fertilizer 100 kg/ha (N₁), 150 kg/ha (N₂), and 200 kg/ha (N₃). The variables observed consisted of growth variables, such as average plant heigh, number of leaves per plant, leaf area of the plantation, chorophyll content, fresh weight per plant, dry weight per plant and yield variables such as fresh weight per plant, dry weight per plant, weight brown cobs, weight of brown cobs per hectare, number of leaves per plant, cob diameter, number of rows of seeds on cob, sweetness level. Observational data were analyzed using variance at the 5% level followed by the DMRT test at a = 5% level. The results of the analysis showed that there was no interaction between the number of seeds per planting hole and the dose of compound ferlizer on the growth and yield of sweet corn plants. The treatment of the number of seeds per planting hole showed an effect on growth, the number of two seeds per hole gave lower yields than the number of one seed per planting hole. Doses of 100 kg, 150 kg, 200 kg NPK fertilizer had no effect on the growth and yield of cob weight and fresh weight of sweet corn plants. The treatment of the number of seeds per planting hole and the application of NPK fertilizer showed a significant and higher difference with the control on growth and yield. Keywords : sweet corn, number of seeds, NPK fertilizer, growth and yield.
