Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of sustainable household waste management by integrating environmental fiqh values with training in using waste separation bins. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving village officials, religious leaders, environmental cadres, and community members. The data were analyzed thematically, using triangulation to ensure the validity and credibility of the findings. The results indicate that integrating environmental fiqh principles into practical waste-sorting training enhances community ecological awareness, waste management skills, and environmentally responsible behaviors. Participatory training with hands-on practice and ongoing mentoring encouraged community members to separate household waste by type consistently. These practices improved environmental cleanliness, reduced waste accumulation, and improved environmental health conditions. The findings suggest that combining religious values with practical environmental education can provide a contextual, sustainable strategy for strengthening community participation in household waste management. This approach also demonstrates the potential of environmental fiqh as a value-based framework for fostering long-term ecological responsibility and supporting sustainable community-based environmental practices.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration of spiritual values and environmental practices via Spiritual Waste Management in Islamic education. It aims to contribute to the development of a Tawhidic moral and psychological model of understanding how mosque activities contribute to the development of environmental awareness among santri communities. This study uses a mixed-method research design with surveys on environmental awareness and moral responsibility. It also used an observation and interview method during a community program held in an eco-mosque setting. The study revealed that waste management activities, such as waste separation and recycling, not only contribute to environmental protection but also to spiritual development (tazkiyatun nafs). This study identified three main aspects of how waste management activities contribute to spiritual development: tawhidic awareness as a moral foundation for waste management activities, embodied ecological practice via waste management activities, and collective reinforcement of waste management activities via religious communities. This study revealed a paradigm shift in environmental attitudes and behaviors of the participants. This study concluded that an eco-mosque program can be reconceptualized as a moral-ecological laboratory for a transformative model of integrating spirituality, psychology, and sustainability in Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aimed to strengthen the capacity and performance of posyandu cadres in supporting stunting prevention by improving health literacy, child growth monitoring skills, and nutrition education competencies. The program employed a participatory approach involving observation, cadre training, health education sessions, mentoring, and program evaluation. The results showed that the intervention improved cadres’ knowledge and skills in monitoring child growth and development, identifying nutritional problems, and delivering effective health education to mothers and communities. The program also contributed to increased community participation in posyandu activities and improved mothers’ awareness of the importance of adequate nutrition, growth monitoring, and early stunting prevention. The findings indicate that empowering posyandu cadres through continuous capacity-building programs can strengthen the role of community-based health services in addressing stunting challenges. This study implies that structured training and sustained mentoring for health cadres can effectively improve preventive health practices, strengthen community engagement, and support the development of sustainable stunting prevention programs. Future research should involve broader participants, longer evaluation periods, and collaborative approaches among health institutions, community organizations, and policymakers to maximize the long-term impact of cadre empowerment.

Abstract

Implementing the Independent Learning Curriculum at the elementary school level represents an important transformation of the education system in the digital era, where technology has become an integral part of the learning process. This study examines the implementation of learning technology integration in the Independent Learning Curriculum, identifies supporting and inhibiting factors, and proposes strategies to strengthen curriculum objectives. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method to explore the application of learning technology in elementary school education. Data were analyzed descriptively to identify patterns in technology use, teacher readiness, infrastructure, and learning resources. The findings indicate that successful integration of learning technology depends on adequate infrastructure and digital access, teachers' digital competence, and the availability of technology-based content and learning applications that match students' characteristics and learning needs. However, disparities in infrastructure access and quality, as well as limited teacher competence in utilizing and integrating technology into learning, remain significant challenges. The study suggests that strengthening digital infrastructure, teacher professional development, and contextualized technology-based learning resources is essential to optimize curriculum implementation.

Abstract

This study aimed to address human resource limitations in elementary schools by integrating Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the preparation of learning materials aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum. Limited availability of homeroom teachers often results in vacant teaching positions, increased administrative responsibilities, and teacher fatigue, which may negatively affect learning quality. This community service program used a participatory approach with three stages: needs analysis, implementation, and evaluation. Implementation included workshops and ongoing coaching to strengthen teachers’ competencies in structured prompt engineering, using the Sigap AI handbook as a practical guide for generating, adapting, and refining instructional materials and administrative documents. The results showed that the program effectively reduced teachers’ time in preparing learning resources and supported more efficient completion of administrative tasks. Evaluation and reflection activities revealed that 100% of participants felt assisted by the program, experienced increased confidence, and demonstrated improved digital independence in utilizing AI technology. The program also reinforced the importance of responsible AI adoption by ensuring that teachers remained the primary decision-makers in instructional processes. These findings suggest that structured Generative AI integration can support teachers and maintain learning quality despite limited human resources in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study analyzed the implementation and outcomes of the Village Development Program as an embodiment of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, strengthening student engagement in community empowerment based on local needs, particularly in environmental education, agricultural waste management, and public health awareness. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach through preliminary observation, community socialization, hands-on practice, and activity evaluation. The program involved ten students and one field supervisor who led several activities, including environmental education, converting rice straw waste into compost fertilizer, and health promotion through group exercise. The results indicated that the program enhanced community knowledge and awareness regarding agricultural waste management, increased participation in health-promoting activities, and strengthened collaboration between students and community members in addressing environmental and social issues. These findings show that student-based village development programs can effectively support sustainable environmental management, improve public health awareness, and encourage local empowerment. The study's implications highlight the importance of ongoing collaboration between higher education institutions and communities to promote participatory, sustainable, innovative, and locally responsive development.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students’ knowledge of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS), particularly related to ear, nose, and throat (ENT) hygiene, and to identify remaining knowledge gaps among students in an Islamic boarding school environment. The study used a descriptive community service approach on 23 May 2026, involving 29 male junior and senior high school students. The activities included a 10-item pre-test, interactive health education using PowerPoint presentations, small-group Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) supported by educational booklets, general health and ENT examinations, and a post-test. We analyzed the data descriptively using mean scores and narrative interpretations of FGD findings. The results showed the mean knowledge score increased from 70 to 90, indicating a 20-point improvement after the intervention. The FGDs revealed three remaining knowledge gaps: safe ear-cleaning practices, proper nasal hygiene, and dietary factors related to throat irritation. These findings suggest that interactive, contextually appropriate health education approaches can effectively improve health literacy among students in communal educational settings. Furthermore, health educators and Islamic boarding schools need to collaborate continuously to develop sustainable, targeted, preventive health promotion programs.
