Abstract

Competence plays a crucial role in ensuring the sustainability of a business. The success of a business is often attributed to its ability to enhance the competence of its operations. The purpose of the PKM activities is to assist small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in recognizing the significance of entrepreneurial competence in sustaining their businesses. The activity partners involved in this study are engaged in the culinary industry, specifically under the brand name "Pawon Emak," which offers a diverse range of culinary products such as nasbox snack boxes, tumpeng, birthday cakes, various market jajn, various dishes, catering services, donuts, and other pastries. Throughout the PKM activities, several challenges have been encountered, particularly in terms of improving entrepreneurial competence, which arises from partners' limited knowledge on this subject matter. Therefore, the PKM activities aim to assist partners in enhancing their understanding of entrepreneurial competence. The chosen approach for these activities is online training and socialization conducted via Zoom meetings. The training materials encompass a basic introduction to business competencies, the essential competencies required, methods for measuring entrepreneurial competencies, and other relevant topics. The results of the activities indicate that the training sessions were conducted successfully, with partners displaying enthusiasm in comprehending the presented material. Evaluation outcomes further demonstrate that the delivery of entrepreneurial competency material has effectively contributed to partners' understanding.

Abstract

This research aimed to utilize pine wood waste generated from furniture production that is no longer in use. The waste consists of small pieces of wood that can be repurposed into new products. The design process focused on creating souvenirs that align with the material's characteristics. The objective was to transform the pine wood waste into small-sized products with market value. The research was conducted in several stages, including data and information collection from furniture workshops in Palembang. Alternative designs were then developed and represented in 3-dimensional digital models, followed by the creation of prototypes using the pine wood waste. The results include several new design alternatives, representing souvenir products for families. These findings are expected to offer opportunities for the furniture business to explore new ventures using previously discarded materials.

Abstract

Shoes play a significant role in today's fashion and style. Consequently, consumers consider various factors such as product quality, price, and promotions when making purchasing decisions. In this regard, we, as students of Indo Global University, conducted independent research and socialization activities at the online shoe retailer "Laroza Second Brand." Utilizing social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, online businesses effectively promote and sell shoes. Social media, as an online tool with human users, facilitates live broadcasts for promoting and selling products. With this in mind, we visited the location to observe and assist in understanding how social media technology is utilized to generate revenue. This community service initiative involved collaboration between lecturers and students from Indo Global Mandiri University to support MBKM (Community Service Learning).

Abstract

In today's business world, advances in information technology have been effectively harnessed. E-commerce, facilitated through the internet, has emerged as a means to significantly reduce transaction costs. The internet has become an integral part of our daily lives, making E-commerce a widely adopted practice. It involves the use of communication networks and computers to carry out business processes, enabling internet users with web browsers to buy and sell products. It is important to note that while E-commerce falls under the umbrella of e-business, not all e-business activities are encompassed by E-commerce. E-business has a broader scope, encompassing the use of technology to drive business operations and generate significant impacts on the overall organization. The pandemic has brought about substantial changes, including shifts in work patterns, learning methods, and shopping habits. Government-imposed mobility restrictions and the high number of Covid-19 cases have led to concerns about venturing outside. However, the essential requirements of daily life cannot be disregarded.

Abstract

This research aims to expand the existing coffee sales network from offline channels to include e-commerce platforms, specifically utilizing social media accounts. In the modern era of rapidly developing technology, new innovations have captivated the interest of young people. Coffee shops have evolved to offer modern facilities, a diverse food menu, e-money payment options, and fast, free internet access, all of which attract young customers. Eksis Coffee is situated in Palembang, at the heart of the city's trendy and modern red-eye area, although it remains relatively unknown due to its location on the outskirts. Young people perceive coffee shops as prestigious, offering practicality and convenience compared to simpler alternatives. This adoption of a new lifestyle serves to establish one's identity in the surrounding environment, particularly among young individuals who heavily rely on social media.
