Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a non-contagious disease in which insulin cannot be produced optimally by the pancreas, characterized by hyperglycemia. Glibenclamide and glimepiride are sulfonylurea antidiabetic drugs. To analyze the use of Glibenclamide and Glimepirid drugs at the Sekupang Public Health Center in 2020 using the ATC/DDD method. The result of DDD/1000 KPRJ/Day Glibenclamide 5 mg was 10.29 mg for the highest on April, and the lowest was 0.57 mg on February. The one-year average was 2.97 mg. The result of DDD//1000 OPV/Day Glimepiride 2 mg was 16.80 mg is the highest on February, and the lowest was 2.79 mg on June. The one-year average was 6.77 mg. The results of DDD/1000 KPRJ/Day Glimepiride 4 mg were highest on October 23,48 mg, and the lowest was on January 3.45 mg, with 13.15 mg average per year. The one-year average of DDD value of Glibenclamide 5 mg does not surpass the 10 mg WHO DDD value, so it can be concluded that the use of Glibenclamide has not been widely used in the community. For Glimepiride 2 mg and 4 mg, the DDD value obtained exceeds the WHO DDD value of 2 mg, it can be concluded that Glimepirid is widely used in the community.

Abstract

Drug counseling is an interaction between pharmacist and patient or family in the form of a structured discussion to provide opportunities for the patient or the patient's family to explore and provide assistance to improve recognition, appreciation, and interpretation so that the patient or the patient's family gain determination with their capabilities in application correct medicine, including self-medication. Self-medication is an activity or act of self-medicating with drugs without a prescription in a precise and rational manner. This study aims to determine the effect of pharmacist counseling on knowledge of self-medication patients at the Mojoroto District Pharmacy, Kediri City Region. The type of research used was analytic observational with an experimental research design of one group pretest-post-test to compare the knowledge of self-medication patients before and after being given counseling. The population used is 8 pharmacies in Mojoroto sub-district. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with inclusion and exclusion criteria. The sample used is 67 respondents. Wilcoxon Test Results Sig. 0.00 < 0.05 indicates that there is an effect of pharmacist counseling on self-medication knowledge. The results of self-medication rationality knowledge assessment showed good (85.1%), moderate (3.0%), bad (11.9%).

Abstract

Hypertension is a disease due to an increase in systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure of more than 90 mmHg in patients measured twice with an interval of five minutes in a state of rest or calm. Various types of drugs are used to lower blood pressure, such as diuretics, beta-blocker drugs, ACE-inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor blocking drugs (ARBs), calcium antagonists, and vasodilator drugs. Patient non-compliance in taking hypertension medication is still a problem that needs attention from all health service providers, both doctors, nurses and pharmacists. This article uses a narrative review, in order to identify and summarize previously published articles, avoid duplication of research, and look for new studies that have not been studied. In Ariyani's article (2018), she focuses more on the results of compliance based on the treatment before and after giving the Pill Card Posttest, Pretest. While in Harun's article (2020) it was found that the results of an increase in patient compliance were based on a descriptive analysis of the character of hypertensive patients consisting of gender, age, and age using the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8 assessment. Compliance with treatment of hypertensive patients is important because hypertension is a disease that cannot be cured but must always be controlled or controlled so that complications do not occur that can lead to death. Characteristics of age, gender, education, occupation affect medication adherence in hypertensive patients.

Abstract

Kepok banana (Musa paradisiaca L.) is one of the most commonly consumed bananas in Indonesia. Apart from the fruit, the other potentially used is banana peel. Kepok banana peel is rich in flavonoids which has function as antioxidants that protect skin from free radicals. In this study, we optimized and conducted physical characterization for banana peels peel-off gel mask. The aim for this research was to optimize the peel-off gel mask and analized the physical characteristics of peel-off mask gel. The formulation was optimized with different concentration of active substance. The physical characterization was organoleptic observation, homogeneity, pH, dispersibility, adhesion, drying time, irritation and stability assay. Organoleptics observation showed that peel-off gel showed distinctive scent, brownish color and gel-like structure. All preparation were homogenous, pH value dispersibility, adhesion, and drying time was within the required criteria. The peel-off was not irritant as showed from irritation assay. The preparation was also stable during 12 weeks storage under room temperature condition. We conclude that banana peels peel-off gel mask was successfully formulated. Further observation for its effectivity will be required.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in natural plants. And many of these plants also produce fruit. One of these plants is banana. Lots of Indonesian people consume bananas. Bananas have many benefits. The content of secondary metabolites in fruit flesh, fruit peel and banana raw fruit is different, so that their pharmacological activities are also different. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of simplicia yield, extract and fraction of simplicia peel, fruit flesh and unripe bananas. The difference in yield produced will give a difference in the content of the secondary metabolites. The methods used are the manufacture of simplicia powder, the manufacture of vegetable extracts by maceration, fractionation by the liquid-liquid method. The results obtained from the manufacture of simplicia obtained good results because it has a water content in accordance with quality standards, which is less than 10%. The results showed that the average drying loss of simplicia pulp was 34%, raw fruit was 22% and fruit skin was 13%. Then in the extraction process, the highest percentage yield of the thick extract in the fruit was 9%. In the fractionation process, the largest fraction was obtained from the ethyl acetate fraction which is 34% for the skin of the unripe fruit and 39% for the flesh of the unripe fruit.

Abstract

HIV is an immune system disorder that characterized by a decreased CD4 count. The CD4 count in HIV patient is fluctuating, clinical conditions and opportunistic infections can affect the CD4 count. This study aims to determine antiretroviral to CD4 cell count in HIV patients with opportunistic infection who are outpatient at Bhayangkara HS Samsoeri Mertojoso Hospital Surabaya. The research design used was an analytical cross sectional observational using paired t-test. The main modality for HIV patients is fixed dose combination antiretroviral tablets. Observations on CD4 cell counts were carried out after the patient had taken antiretroviral combination tablets for a period of 12 months. The result of the study is, only 3 of 18 patients showed progresiion of CD4 cell counts. The conclusion in this study was that there was no significant difference between the mycosis group and the non-mycosis group (p> 0,05).
