Abstract

The management of hazardous and toxic waste (B3) requires strict compliance with technical and administrative regulations. This study aims to evaluate the B3 waste management system at PT. X in North Jakarta and assess its conformity with the applicable regulatory standards. The research utilized secondary data obtained from the company’s Technical Details Document (Rintek) of the Temporary B3 Waste Storage Facility. Data collection was conducted through documentation review, and evaluation was performed using a checklist instrument based on the Guttman scale scoring system. Three key technical aspects were assessed: storage, packaging and containment, and symbol and label attachment. The results showed scores of 96% for storage, 100% for packaging and containment, and 87.5% for labeling, with an overall average of 94.5% (classified as “Excellent”). Key findings included the absence of an automatic fire detection system and incomplete labeling on waste container lids. Based on clarifications with the environmental consultant, it was concluded that PT. X’s B3 waste management complies with regulations but still requires improvements in safety equipment and administrative labeling.

Abstract

Limbah akar pisang merupakan salah satu potensi bahan organik yang belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi konsentrasi EM4 dan waktu inkubasi terhadap kualitas pupuk cair organik berbasis akar pisang. Proses fermentasi dilakukan dengan penambahan EM4 pada tiga konsentrasi (50 ml, 75 ml, 100 ml), molase 250 gram, dan air 10 liter. Parameter yang dianalisis meliputi pH, suhu, total bakteri, serta kandungan Nitrogen, Fosfor, dan Kalium. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hari ke-10 merupakan waktu inkubasi terbaik dengan kandungan N mencapai 0,25%, P sebesar 0,39%, dan K masih dalam kisaran optimal 1,72%. Nilai pH dan suhu stabil pada rentang ideal fermentasi (pH 6–7; suhu 26–28°C). Kombinasi terbaik diperoleh pada perlakuan C (100 ml EM4).

Abstract

Pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga merupakan salah satu persoalan lingkungan yang serius di wilayah perkotaan padat penduduk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pengetahuan kesehatan lingkungan dan sikap hidup bersih terhadap perilaku pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga di Kelurahan Cipulir, Jakarta Selatan. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif analitik dan pendekatan korelasional. Sampel berjumlah 100 rumah tangga yang dipilih dengan simple random sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pengetahuan (15 item benar-salah), kuesioner sikap (10 item skala Likert), dan kuesioner perilaku (10 item skala Likert). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan berpengaruh positif namun tidak signifikan terhadap perilaku (p=0,056), sedangkan sikap hidup bersih berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perilaku (p=0,000). Uji simultan menunjukkan pengetahuan dan sikap bersama-sama berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perilaku (Fhitung=361,672; p<0,001) dengan R²=0,882. Kesimpulannya, sikap hidup bersih merupakan faktor dominan dalam membentuk perilaku pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga. Rekomendasi penelitian ini adalah perlunya program edukasi lingkungan berbasis praktik langsung untuk meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat. Kata Kunci: Pengetahuan, Sikap, Perilaku, Pengelolaan Sampah

Abstract

The Cipeucang Landfill receives hundreds of tons of waste daily, mostly organic, and produces gases from anaerobic decomposition, mainly Ammonia (NH₃) and Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S). This study aims to analyze NH₃ and H₂S concentrations in ambient air around Cipeucang Landfill based on distance (0 m, 100 m, 300 m, 900 m) and time (morning, afternoon, evening). Gas concentrations were measured using the indophenol method for NH₃ and the methylene blue method for H₂S. Meteorological factors including temperature, humidity, and wind speed were also recorded. Results showed that the highest NH₃ concentration was 0.981 ppm measured in the morning at the landfill center, while the highest H₂S concentration was 0.273 ppm. Both gases decreased with distance and varied temporally, with higher levels in the morning and evening. Regression analysis revealed that distance had a strong influence on H₂S concentration, while temperature and humidity had weaker effects. Although concentrations remained below the national ambient air quality standards, the presence of these gases poses potential health and environmental risks. Abstract

Wastewater from the palm oil production process contains high levels of organic matter, so the appropriate treatment to remove organic matter is anaerobic processing. At PT XYZ, several types of reactors are used in the anaerobic process, including Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB), Expanded Granular Sludge Blanket (EGSB), Internal Circulation (IC) Tank, dan Super Internal Circulation Tank. The bacteria used are generally granular in shape, which settle more quickly, but in field conditions, the bacteria used for UASB are sludge powdering, which tends to wash out. This can reduce the efficiency of wastewater treatment. The purpose of this study is to analyze the formation of granular sludge from sludge powdering in UASB reactors. The method used was experimental using a beaker glass reactor operated for 6 weeks. The principle of coagulation flocculation was used with the addition of 0.3 g/L/hr of urea as nutrients for bacteria and FeCl3 as a binding agent. The stages of this study included sampling, reactor operation, observation & treatment, and data analysis. The results showed that the UASB reactor did not form granular sludge, because the sludge produced was in the form of fine flocs. The addition of FeCl3 and urea caused the pH value of the reactor to fluctuate and tend to be alkaline, resulting in conditions that were not optimal for the activity of granular-forming bacteria. Therefore, granular sludge was not obtained from the experiment using UASB sludge powdering with a glass beaker reactor.
