Abstract

The formulation of the problem in this study is how the internal and external conflicts of the main character in Buya Hamka's novel Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wick. The purpose of this research is to identify and describe the internal and external conflicts of the main character in Buya Hamka's novel Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wick. Qualitative descriptive approach. The data used in this study are in the form of words, phrases and sentences. The data source is the novel Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijck by Buya Hamka, the 22nd print, with a total of 228 pages. Data collection techniques are reading notes. Data analysis techniques, namely; (1) data reduction, (2) data codification, (3) data classification, (4) data description, (5) data interpretation, (6) data verification. The theory used is the theory of psychoanalytic development. The results showed internal conflicts, namely: a) uncertainty, b) feelings of love, c) feelings of sadness, d) feelings of fear, e) feelings of sadness. External conflicts, namely a) conflicts between Hayati and other characters, b) relationships that are not sanctioned, c) feelings of depression over loss, d) quarrels between Hayati and Khadijah, e) Zainudin 's disappointment because his love was betrayed by Hayati, f) Hayati experienced the inner stress of following your parents' choices.

Abstract

This study examines the improvement of reading skills beginning with letter card media in Grade 1 Students of Inpres Onekore 6 Elementary School, Central Ende District. The research objective was to determine the beginning reading ability with letter card media. Classroom Action Research is a research method used in this study with four phases, namely planning, taking action, observing, and reflecting. In this study, the instruments used were reading manuscripts and assessment sheets. Reading manuscripts and assessment sheets are used to measure students 'reading ability, based on the minimum ability criteria (KKM) set in the Indonesian field of study, namely 70. Students' initial reading ability is measured using 3 criteria, namely pronunciation or speech, intonation, and fluency. when reading text. The results showed that there was an increase in the ability to start reading with letter card media in students, namely each aspect of pronunciation from cycle 1 to cycle 2 to 70%, intonation aspect 70%, and reading fluency by 73%.

Abstract

The problem of this research is the form and meaning of the interrogative language of Manggarai, Kolor dialect in the Waerana community of East Manggarai Regency. The aim is to find and describe the form and meaning of the interrogative language of the Manggarai language, the Kolor dialect in the Waerana community of East Manggarai Regency. The approach used is a qualitative approach. The data collection used the listening and proficient method with the technique of listening to be proficient, engaging, taking notes, and recording techniques. The data collected is in the form of oral data. The theory used is the syntactic theory. Data analysis using inductive analysis model. The results showed that the interrogative form of the Manggarai language in the Kolor dialect in the Waerana community of East Manggarai Regency has two forms, namely formed by using basic question words, like what is "what", sei "who", piza'berapa 'so'o' why 'and one 'where' there are several kinds of found, namely (1) what 'what' (2) sei 'who' (3) 'how many' pizza into several types, namely ('how much' pizza, 'how much' moripiza, 'how much' mukupiza weropizan 'when', sepizan 'when'), (4) one 'where', (one 'where', paleonen 'where', zoone 'where' and pu'uone 'from where' and samaone 'how'), ( 5) so'o 'why', (so'o 'why', overo'o 'why', so'otara 'why' and nukuso'o 'how'), and use a question intonation. The meaning contained in this research is the meaning of asking for objects, asking people (humans), asking for time, asking for the number / number, asking for place / origin and asking opinions or thoughts from other people.

Abstract

Research on mantras in Wolotolo Village, Detusoko District, Ende Regency aims to describe the form and function of mantras for the people who inhabit the area. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques used are observation and interview techniques. The results showed that the mantra tuku ae uja (resistant to rain), mantra joka tu (reject bala), and mantra rago nitu (exorcise spirits) are in the form of prayer, because the three mantras have a special purpose or intention that is conveyed by requesting. These mantras have a religious function, namely as a society's appreciation of God Almighty as the Creator of man and the universe, an educational or educational function that teaches people to be grateful for God's creation, and the function of love as an attitude of life to respect the universe as a a place to live, humans, and all living things on earth.

Abstract

This study provides an overview of the speech acts of the farming community in Kokotobo Village, Adonara Tengah District, East Flores Regency. The purpose of this writing is to find data and a clear picture of how the directive actions of the farmer community in Kokotobo Village, Adonara Tengah District, East Flores Regency. The method used is the method of engaging free listening proficiently. The technique used is observation, record and note, while the theory used is pragmatic theory. The results of this study indicate that in the directive speech act of the farmer community in Kokotobo Village, Adonara Tengah District, East Flores Regency, it was found: (1) the form of directive speech instructs, the form of advising, the form suggests (2) the meaning of the act said the mutual directive, the meaning of information (3) the speech act function of the request directive, the question function, the command function and the advice function.

Abstract

The study, entitled Analysis of Persuasive Language of Advertising Discourse on Banking Advertising, aims to identify and analyze the language elements in the structure of persuasive commercial advertising discourse. In this case there are several selected language elements which predominantly contribute to the persuasive function of language in commercial advertising. know and analyze the composition and cohesion of persuasive advertising discourse. The composition of commercial advertising discourse is a composition that has relevance to form a persuasive discourse, such as reasoning and its techniques. The research approach used is a qualitative descriptive approach. The data was collected descriptively through literature study and the data collected was selected according to predetermined criteria. Therefore, all data on commercial advertising discourse texts that match the criteria are defined as research data. The results of the study prove that the language structure with (1) themes that emphasize service trust, (2) intagible references because the products offered in the service company category are services, (3) the choice of words that stand out is the ones that are closely related to the type of product reference. which is offered.Based on the data analysis, the conclusion is related to the problem and the object of study is the structure of the language with (1) a theme that emphasizes the trust of the servant, the referent which is integible and the choice of words that stands out are the choice of words that are closely related to the type of product referent. Cohesion in advertising discourse is intended to create coherent meanings. The persuasive context on service company advertising discourse includes participants in the advertising discourse, the most prominent functions of language are expressive, connective and aesthetic functions.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to introduce Ende's culture in the form of anecdotes, which some teenagers today have never recognized an anecdote from the area where they were born. This is if we continue to let the Anecdote, as one of the cultural heritages of Ende in the form of Oral Literature, will eventually become extinct. They know the Anecdote from the Indonesian version. The approach used is a qualitative approach because the data collected is in the form of verbal words that are systematic and not in the form of statistical numbers. The method chosen in this study is the listening and speaking method, and the techniques used in this study are the recording technique, the note-taking technique and the listening technique. Data were analyzed based on the interactive model developed by Miles and Huberman, which includes four components, namely, data collection, data reduction, data display and conclusion /verification. The results show that in the Ende language anecdote there are many meanings and moral messages that we can make as guidelines for family life and social interaction in the community environment.

Abstract

The formulation of the problem raised in this study is how is the ability to find the main sentence in a deductive paragraph using the Inquiry learning model for fifth grade students of SD Impres Onekore 6, Ende Tengah District, Ende Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach. The data collection technique used in this research is the test technique. After the data was collected, the data were analyzed using the written test method and then the data were presented formally, meaning that the data were described using numbers. The theory used in this research is the learning evaluation theory and syntactic theory.The results showed that the fifth grade students of SDI Onekore 6 were classified as capable because it was seen from the average value obtained by all sample students was 80.5% and capable students were 16 people with a percentage of 80% and students who were unable as many as 4 people with a percentage of 20%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the heuristic and hermeneutic readings in WS's Poems of Love. Rendra. The method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach and a semiotic approach. Sources of data discussed in this study are WS Rendra's poems, namely: Permintaan, Kami Berdua, Tempramen, Kepada Awan Lewat, Telah satu, Optimisme, Ayam Jantan, Janganlah Jauh, Surat Seorang Istri, dan Barangkali Karena Bulan.. The results of the analysis discussed in this study are that there are themes of love. These poems tell a youth that is so simple, adult poetry that feels deep and serious in the journey of love, and old age poems in the form of gratitude for the proven blessings of true love.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the social class classification reflects on plot and characterization in China Rich Girlfriend novel. This study used Marxism approach to analyze social class classification reflects on this novel. The major principle of Marxism used in this novel is class struggle. The data analysis technique used was documentation. The researcher also used library research to find some relevant sources related to this study.This study showed that there are some major characters that explained how the lower-class and the upper-class had different style in using their money and also protect their wealth. Besides, it was found that there was a revolution appeared in this novel.
