Abstract

The need for comunity mobility to be able lo move from one place to another is increasing. Until now, the process of mixing air with gasoline in gasoline engines can be grauped into 2, namely the conventional system using a carburetor and the injection system. This study aims to compare engine performance based on fuel comsumption from engine that were originally convetional technology and then modified to the injection type. The methodology used is true experimental, with an analysis of variance model. From the research result, the power carburetor system at 10,000 rpm reaches 15.91 hp, and fuel consumption is 0.0334 kg/hp.hour, the efficiency is 0.4275%, while the injection system at 10,000 rpm reaches 17.82 hp, fuel consumption 0.0241 kg/hp.hour and 0.5924% efficiency. So that it can be concluded that the carburetor system lacks engine performance and burns a lot of wasted heat rafter than turning it into energy. The fogging injection system is more economical than the carburetor fogging system, it is evident in each test that the injection fogging system consumes less in every one working cycel.

Abstract

In Indonesia, non-renewable fossil fuels are used to produce electrical energy which has the potential to impact the environment. Renewable energy is needed as an energy source to reduce consumption of fossil fuels. Solar thermal is one of the abundant energy sources in Indonesia, and thermoelectric generators can be used to make use of it. A thermoelectric generator can generate electricity from the sun's abundant heat energy and does not damage the environment by using a solar collector on the hot side and a heatsink on the cold side. This study aims to determine the performance of thermoelectric generators, heatsinks, solar collectors and the overall efficiency of the device. The findings of this study indicate that the energy output obtained by the collector due to variations in the sun affects the efficiency of the solar collector on the hot side of the thermoelectric generator. The efficiency of a heatsink located on the cold side of a thermoelectric generator is inversely proportional to its base heat value. The value of the temperature difference on the hot and cold sides of the thermoelectric generator fluctuates, which affects the efficiency value of the thermoelectric generator, while the useful energy and power produced by the thermoelectric generator can affect the efficiency of the system as a whole.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of adding Pertalite to fuel on engine performance and fuel consumption of Honda Beat 2014 motorcycle engines. This study used three octane booster mixtures to examine the effect of mixtures added to Pertalite fuel on engine performance of the Honda Beat 2014 In addition, the addition of an octane booster also increases fuel consumption efficiency which significantly reduces the amount of fuel consumed by the engine and produces environmentally friendly emissions when the number of octane boosters increases. Based on these findings, it was concluded that the use of Pertalite octane accelerator fuel could improve the engine performance of the Honda Beat 2014 motorcycle and reduce fuel consumption. Therefore, using an octane booster can be an attractive option for Honda Beat 2014 motorcycle owners who want to improve engine performance, optimize fuel economy, but produce emissions that are not environmentally friendly.

Abstract

Metallurgy is the science that studies the properties of metals and their alloys through the analysis of their structures. Metal structure and alloys are the determining factors of the steel microarrangement that affect metal properties. The purpose of this study was to determine the strength and hardness of steel 304. This study used an experimental method by treating the workpiece and then characterizing it to see the results. In the hardness test it was concluded that a temperature does not affect the level of hardness of a specimen. While the cooling medium greatly affects the level of hardness. The higher the viscosity of a cooling fluid, the higher the hardness formed. Microstructural testing concluded that temperature and cooling media both have an effect on the formation of pearlite and ferrite in a material. If the temperature is the same and the fluids have the same properties, then the pearlite and ferrite contents will be the same. Pearlite will easily form at high temperatures with a high viscosity of the coolant, while ferrite will easily form if the temperature is low with a high fluid viscosity.

Abstract

A pump is a tool that functions to drain, circulate and move liquid fluids by applying pressure and speed from one place to another. On internal combustion engines, the purpose of testing is to determine the performance characteristics of internal combustion engines. This research can be used as teaching material and discussion by students in the fields of pumps, gasoline motors, and diesel motors. Each test with a different treatment will give a different outcome value. The result is that in the pump test, the output value is influenced by the treatment of the throttle and engine speed, whereas in the testing of diesel and gasoline engines the output value is affected by the treatment of the visor and throttle.

Abstract

One of the problems of a machine is the vibration generated by the machine itself. Vibration is very influential on the structure and construction of the machine. One of the issues that is very important to note in these plans is the calculation of the deflection/deflection of the elements when subjected to a load. This is very important especially in terms of strength (strength) and stiffness (stiffness), where a horizontal bar that is loaded laterally will experience deflection. The deflection that occurs in elements that experience loading must be within an allowable limit. Based on the actual and theoretical research results for the Simple vibration apparatus, load and valve variations are directly proportional to the damping constant. The greater the load and valve rotation, the greater the damping constant. The beam deflection apparatus has several results, namely the load variation is directly proportional to the static deflection value. The greater the load, the greater the static deflection. Variation of distance (intermediate load point) is directly proportional to the static deflection value. The greater the distance, the greater the static deflection. Variation of distance (end load point) is directly proportional to the static deflection value. The greater the distance, the greater the static deflection. Thickness variation is inversely proportional to the static deflection value. The greater the thickness value, the smaller the static deflection. The width variation is inversely proportional to the static deflection value. The greater the width value, the smaller the static deflection.

Abstract

One of the most frequently encountered motions in nature is oscillatory motion (vibration). A particle oscillates when it moves periodically about an equilibrium position. A load attached to a spring that is stretched once is released, then it begins to oscillate. Basically, vibration is a technical system that contains mass and elasticity that is able to move relatively or can be said to be a movement that repeats itself at certain time intervals. Increasing technological developments show that the tools that have to do with vibrations are very diverse. One of them is the vibration that utilizes the Simple Vibration Apparatus. In the free vibration frequency experiment, from the test results without a damper with a mass of 0.47kN/m; 1.22kN/m and 3.3kN/m it can be seen that there is a big difference between the theoretical frequency value and the actual frequency value. The results of the theoretical deflection from experiments 1 - 5 have increased constantly. The greater the loading, the greater the deflection.
