Abstract

The company is a medium scale company, although the medium scale company has used modern equipment. Such as lathes, milling machines, hydraulic press machines, iron cutting machines (benso), iron/steel plate press machines, steel/iron bending machines and others. Meanwhile, the arrangement of stations or existing production machines is still irregular and causes the production floor to be scattered and ineffective as well as inefficient spatial planning in the production process so that this affects the operator, maximizing output and time. The research method is carried out with systematic steps that are arranged and determined before solving the problem. The initial research stage is calculating the utility of the distance between stations and machines using ARC and ARD, then making improvements to the layout from the initial layout in order to achieve the research objectives. The purpose of this study is to propose an efficient layout and flow of material handling in order to reduce time in the tailgate production process. The number of departments or rooms, namely 12 departments needed in planning the linkage of activities, namely production room, storage room, rest room and first aid kit, generator room, office space, private motorbike and car parking, truck and trailer truck parking, drying area, truck unloading area, Places of Worship, Security Post, and Toilets.

Abstract

A typical maintenance organisation has responsibility in keeping the production facility running at the desired level performance. In order to ensure that condition, necessary decisions should be made. The Decision Making Grid (DMG) model is one of analysis technique that provides maintenance organisation in strategic and tactical level management to determine the appropriate maintenance policy for all individual machinery and equipment within the facility. The analysis identified the performance of the equipment in oil palm mill facility by conducting availability measurement. The machineries and equipment which have breakdown records were analysed then by the DMG model to propose the appropriate maintenance policy for all individual machinery and equipment within the facility. Implementing the DMG recommendations were proposed to follow the suggested priority order.

Abstract

Moringa (Moringa oleifera Lam.) is a type of tropical plant that is easy to grow in Indonesia. This plant is starting to be in great demand by the public and one of the types of plants that can be used as potential food. Its high nutritional status and benefits have earned it the nickname Mother's Best friend and Miracle tree. Other benefits of the Moringa plant are as an antimicrobial found in the seeds of the Moringa plant, coagulants in surface water purification efforts (pond water, river water, lake water) and a potential source of biodiesel raw material after jatropha curcas. Moringa cultivation can be done vegetatively and generatively. In this research, we will observe the generative reproduction of Moringa plants, namely through seeds. This study aims to find out how to sow moringa seeds that can produce the best plants. The treatment of soaking seeds in warm water showed a higher percentage of germination compared to immersion in ordinary water. The treatment of soaking the seeds in warm water followed by planting the sprouts in soil media added with manure had a very significant effect on plant height, number of leaves and root length.

Abstract

Healthy house is a building for shelter and rest and as a means of fostering a family that fosters a healthy life physically, mentally and socially, so that all family members can work productively. Koto Tibun Village is one of the villages in Kampar Regency located in Kampar District. The lack of public knowledge about healthy houses in Koto Tibun Village is relatively low, because most people build houses with their own business or only use the services of local handymen without proper planning. In Koto Tibun Village, there are still some houses that do not meet the requirements for healthy houses due to lack of lighting, ventilation size, healthy latrines, garbage disposal, dirty water disposal, floors and also ceilings/asbestos. In this regard, it is necessary to conduct a survey of healthy houses in Koto Tibun Village, Kampar District so that the proportion of existing healthy houses can be known and a targeted plan can be prepared. Based on this explanation, the author is interested in researching more about the distribution of healthy houses in Koto Tibun Village. The data collection techniques used in this study were field observation, interview and questionnaire. The results obtained from this study showed that there were 25 or 27.47% of the study subjects who were residential houses that belonged to the category of healthy houses and the remaining 66 or 72.53% of the study subjects were residential houses that were included in the category of unhealthy houses.

Abstract

Research confirms the importance of anthropometry in ergonomic based product design (Wignjosoebroto, 2000). However, a mismatch between facilities and humans as users still occurs. This results in risks to worker safety and disruption in the work process. Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai University is one of the campuses in Kampar Riau. The campus has a library which is equipped with various facilities, one of which is a trolley. The trolley functions to move books neatly in large quantities. However, employees experience complaints such as back and wrist pain when using this trolley, which can have a negative impact on their health. Therefore, researchers designed a Library Trolley based on the user's anthropometry. This design is equipped with stairs to make it easier to arrange books on high shelves. The size of the Library Trolley is determined based on percentile calculations of body dimensions. The research results show that Standing Shoulder Height (TBB) uses the 50th percentile, namely 133.9 cm. Shoulder Width (LB) using the 90th percentile is 44.547 cm. The 50th percentile for Standing Elbow Height (TSB) is 101 cm. The 10th percentile for Open Palm Width (LTTB) is 16.3 cm, while Fist Height (TKT) uses the 50th percentile, which is 70.32 cm, and Standing Hand Reach Height (TJTB) uses the 10th percentile, namely 207.174 cm.
