Abstract

This research is based on doctors' disciplinary problems in filling in complete patient medical record data, which has caused several patient safety incidents to occur. The aim of this research is to empirically reveal the influence of effective communication and patient safety culture on doctor behavior with work engagement as an intervening variable. This research is included in quantitative research with a causality approach, the population used is doctors, the sampling technique uses purposive sampling with determining the number of samples using the Slovin formula with an error rate of 5%, so that a sample size of 97 respondents is obtained, with a sampling technique using non-probability sampling . The analysis method uses the three box method and PLS-SEM with the help of the samrt-PLS program. The results of the analysis conclude that work engagement positively intervenes in the influence of effective communication and patient safety culture on doctor behavior, effective communication and patient safety culture have a positive and significant effect on work engagement and doctor behavior, and work engagement is able to influence doctor behavior positively and significant, and also dominates its influence compared to effective communication and patient safety culture.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between Presbycusis, Elderly, Osteoarthritis Audiometry, and risk factors such as obesity, lack of physical activity, and injury to the joints. The research method used was a survey using questionnaires distributed to the elderly at Ibnu Sina Hospital, Panakkang District, Makassar. The results showed a significant correlation between the conditions of presbycusis, osteoarthritis, and the mentioned risk factors. The implication of this research is the importance of increasing public awareness and knowledge of osteoarthritis prevention and management through targeted and interactive education, such as using banners that are easy to understand and involve direct discussions with the community. This is expected to reduce the incidence of osteoarthritis and reduce the burden of medical costs and improve the quality of life of the elderly.

Abstract

The nursing service is essential to hospital patient recovery. It also shows the hospital's healthcare performance. This study examines how nursing quality affects word-of-mouth communication among RS X Bandar Lampung hospitalized patients in 2023. A true Experimental Design with a posttest-only control group was adopted. The sample included 80 people, divided equally into 40 intervention and 40 control groups. The control and intervention groups showed significant differences in service quality, including empathy, tangibility, assurance, reliability, and responsiveness (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05). Significant differences in word-of-mouth communication were seen between the control and intervention groups (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05). The simple linear regression test significantly impacted empathic nursing service quality (p-value < 0.05). The quality of tangible nursing services was also affected (p-value < 0.05). The quality of nurse service assurance also had an impact (p-value < 0.05). Nurse attentiveness impacted word-of-mouth communication in control and intervention group patients (p < 0.000 < 0.05). Nursed service reliability impacted word-of-mouth communication in treatment and control groups (p-value = 0.004 < 0.085). The management of X Hospital Bandar Lampung must constantly teach nurses about nursing service quality. They should also assess training success by measuring nurse service quality with patient surveys and questionnaires.

Abstract

Pneumonia is an acute infectious disease that affects the alveoli and is caused by specific microorganisms, characterized by symptoms of coughing and shortness of breath. In the case of 2019, WHO recorded the most deaths in the world caused by pneumonia, reaching a total of 62,782 cases. In Indonesia alone, in 2021, there were 2.56 million confirmed cases of pneumonia. The prevalence of pneumonia in West Java reached 2.6%. This study aims to provide an overview of nursing care for pneumonia patients admitted to the emergency room of Gunung Jati Hospital. The method used is a descriptive method with a case study design. The results of this study indicate that the intervention carried out for 1 x 7 hours with the cooperation of the emergency room nurse had a positive impact. The author has carried out actions by the nursing plan that has been made. The implementation of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) Pursed Lift Breathing (PLB). Deep Breathing Exercise (DBE) affects the patient's breathing frequency. Before the implementation of the intervention, the patient's breathing frequency (Respiratory Rate / RR) was 28 x/min. After implementing the intervention, the patient's breathing frequency dropped to 26 x/min. It can be concluded that the pursed lift breathing intervention can significantly reduce shortness of breath in patients with pneumonia. The implication of this study is the importance of applying appropriate and measurable interventions in nursing care for pneumonia patients to improve the quality of care and minimize the risk of complications.

Abstract

Postpartum hemorrhage is one of the leading causes of 150,000 maternal deaths each year worldwide, and nearly 4 out of 5 such deaths occur within 4 hours of delivery. One of the factors that can cause postpartum hemorrhage is the presence of anemia in pregnant women, which can be caused by iron and vitamin B12 deficiency. If anemia is not treated during pregnancy, it can impact the postpartum period by increasing the risk of uterine atony and significant bleeding. The purpose of this study was to explain nursing care in postpartum mothers with anemia using an educational intervention of iron consumption to prevent postpartum hemorrhage. The research method used is a qualitative approach with case studies as the main method, using observation sheets, interviews, and documentation studies. The subject of this study was one postpartum maternal patient with anemia at RSUD Waled Cirebon. The results of the case study showed clinical success in the absence of signs and symptoms of bleeding, improvement in the mother's condition, although breast milk expenditure was still not optimal. The implication of this study is that effective nursing care delivery can meet patient needs and prevent further complications such as postpartum hemorrhage.
