Abstract

The development of technology in this digital era has a positive impact, one of which is in the field of education. Students in this digital era have easier access to teaching materials other than books, one of which is video. The development of learning videos has become one of the effective methods in supporting the learning process of students in various courses, including Theory and Practice of Concrete Stone courses. This study aims to analyze the need for developing learning videos in the Theory and Practice of Concrete Stone courses. The needs analysis method was carried out using a questionnaire survey distributed to students of the State University of Jakarta who had completed the Theory and Practice of Concrete Stone courses. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, 80% of students state that the learning media used today does not help students understand the material presented. 88.6% stated that the learning media used today does not attract student attention. 100% agreed to the development of new learning media in the Theory and Practice of Concrete Stone course. 100% stated that learning media in the form of videos can make it easier for students to understand the material.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of using online learning in learning building engineering drawings on students' conceptual understanding and development of practical skills. The research will evaluate the effectiveness of online learning in facilitating an in-depth understanding of the principles of building engineering drawing as well as students' ability to apply them practically. Apart from that, this research will also examine factors that influence the success of online learning, such as the level of interactivity, accessibility and quality of learning content.

Abstract

Good communication is essential for reducing the probability of miscommunication in teaching and learning activities. This may assist the learner examine his knowledge of right and wrong and become accustomed to expressing opinions, and ideas. The purpose of the author's scientific paper is to provide educators with further knowledge or understanding to enhance their communication skills and establish an engaging learning environment in the classroom. A dynamic classroom conversation can provide a welcoming environment for students to feel at ease and comfortable sharing their thoughts and opinions, which may help them in understanding the subject matter being taught. Furthermore, the author hopes that by exchanging ideas, educators will recognise the value of communication skills in designing engaging teaching and learning activities.

Abstract

The research aims to identify and solve challenges in cross-cultural communication in a multinational environment. With sustainable global change and a push for inclusiveness and diversity, it is important to understand and bridge cultural differences. The study explores strategies to overcome communication barriers and facilitate more effective collaboration. The research method used is qualitative, using literary research as its primary method. The results of this study show that overcoming the barriers to cross-cultural communication requires appropriate strategies. These efforts include cultivating respect and awareness of other cultures, preparing effective translations to overcome language barriers, using appropriate communication technologies, promoting inclusiveness and participation of all team members, and conducting regular evaluations and feedback. Thus, organizations can create a conducive working environment that supports productivity, innovation, and effective teamwork.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on various sectors of life, particularly in the field of education. To uphold social distancing, schools were closed, and face-to-face learning was suspended until the situation stabilized. Online learning, which was implemented during the pandemic, continues to be utilized even after the pandemic has ended, including in vocational education such as digital simulation materials. Learners study from home, presenting challenges for teachers in preparing the lessons. Effective learning strategies are crucial for success in online education. The aim of this article is to elucidate effective strategies for online learning. This scholarly article employs a literature study method as its data source, involving processes of identification, evaluation, and synthesis with several journals as references and supported by books to strengthen the researcher’s arguments. From the results of the literature review, it was found that: 1) There are obstacles in online learning, with many individuals unprepared for it and facing difficulties in achieving learning objectives. 2) Effective online learning strategies can be defined as anything systematically designed by teachers to address all aspects of online learning. 3) Strategies that teachers can implement to conduct online learning effectively include: mastering the use of online media, providing alternative access methods, enhancing interaction and participation of students, and offering support and guidance.
