Abstract

This research was conducted at a company manufacturing paving blocks, ceramics, ventilation, concrete, and roof tiles. This study aims to improve the quality of concrete tile products, which experience the most cracks and breaks. Research to determine the composition of concrete roof tiles can be carried out by design experiments using the Taguchi method. This experiment used raw materials such as cement, sand, milled flour, and water. The concluding results show that the quality of concrete roof tiles is based on the results of the Taguchi method and confirmation experiments which are characterized by an increase in the compressive strength of the concrete tile based on the average value (μ) and its variability (SNR). The average compressive strength (µ) of concrete roof tiles increased from 19,814 ≤ 21,208 ≤ 22,602 in the Taguchi experiment to 26,406 ≤ µconfirmation ≤ 29,894 in the confirmation experiment. While the variability (SNR) increased from 25.532 ≤ 27.521 ≤ 29.510 in the Taguchi experiment to 26.473 ≤ S/N confirmed ≤ 31.469 in the confirmation experiment. The optimal composition of cement, sand, milled flour, and water that produces the best compressive strength based on the response factor and SNR is 0.9 kg: 0.5 kg: 0.4 kg: 0.3 kg, respectively. The most influential factors on the compressive strength of concrete roof tiles are the amount of sand and the number of flour mills

Abstract

Smart Locker system to provide more security for the house that is a place to live to avoid losses and negative impacts of criminal case actions with incrimination.  This study designed door security with a door bar control system that can be done from outside the house using Android and a keypad so that the bar behind the door automatically closes and opens according to the password code command entered by the user or homeowner. Consumer desires home security systems using the QFD (Quality Function Deployment) method. The QFD method will conclude that a better door security product design is needed, with home security system updates as needed. Consumers need thirteen dimensions with three priorities with the highest value, namely securing the door of the house with a shape that matches the door with a rating of 4.55, Securing the door of the house has an alarm system with a rating of 4.50, Securing the door of the house is easy to use for the owner.  The intelligent locker design is based on ATMega 2560 Microcontroller, which functions to program other components so that they can work according to the data that has been inputted.

Abstract

PT. PAS is a company engaged in the manufacturing industry, is a company that manages palm oil into Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Palm Kernel (PK) with a capacity of 30 tons/hour. The method used in this study is Relia-bility Centered Maintenance (RCM). This method can determine the actions of preventive maintenance activi-ties on each component of the screw press machine. This study aims to provide proposals for scheduling pre-ventative Maintenance of screw press machines using the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) approach and determine appropriate maintenance actions in damage prevention. Based on the results of the research con-ducted, it can be concluded that in the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) approach, it is known that five types of damage are a priority for repair. The types of damage included in the repair priority are worm screws, extension shafts, bearings, press cages, and oil seals. The proposed maintenance time for each critical compo-nent is a worm screw component maintenance time interval of 307.84 hours, and changeover schedules every 2035.3 hours. Component extension shaft maintenance time interval 279.5 hours, changeover schedule every 1824.5 hours. Bearing components have a maintenance time interval of 300.2 hours and a changeover schedule of every 1492.5 hours. Oil seal components maintenance time interval 286.1 hours, changeover schedule every 2769.9 hours. Press cage components maintenance time interval 250.72 hours, changeover schedule every 3277.8 hours. Actions are taken in the form of direct prevention of the source of component damage based on the time or age of the component.

Abstract

Indonesia's chicken meat supply chain usually starts from large-scale chicken farmers, distributed to medium-scale chicken agents/toke, traditional slaughter chicken traders, then restaurants and homemakers as end customers. In such a long supply chain, contamination may cause the halal status of slaughtered chicken products to be questioned. The problem studied is the potential risk that can cause contamination of halal slaughtered chicken products from suppliers to end customers. Therefore, this study aims to identify the risk of contamination in the halal supply chain of slaughtered chicken products and obtain recommendations for corrective actions so that slaughtered chicken products are maintained halal. Data is processed using manual Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) methods, ISM Professional V 5.0 software, MICMAC Analysis, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). The conclusions obtained from this study are the identification of the risk of contamination of the halal supply chain in slaughtered chicken products consisting of 26 risk elements, recommendations for corrective actions based on the assessment of contextual relationships between risk elements, among others, slaughterers should be given adequate rest time and the number of workers should be adjusted to the workload, and recommendations for corrective actions based on the assessment of the risk level of each element, among others, preferably  slaughterers are given education and motivation; Every slaughterer should be required to attend halal slaughterer training; The slaughterer should be motivated to always apply the slaughter training he participates in; ante-mortem should be done before the chickens are delivered; it is best to provide enough containers for chickens after slaughter; And the chicken should be left for up to 3 minutes after slaughter and make sure the chicken has completely died.

Abstract

The development of technology today is widely misused by some people who intend to forge paper on documents and books. One way to find out the authenticity of a paper is by knowing its age. The age of paper can be known in several ways: carbon dating, uranium dating, and potassium-argon dating. But these methods still have weaknesses, requiring sophisticated equipment at a high cost, long processes to get results and limited access. To solve this problem, researchers made an application that can identify the age range of a sheet of paper with a faster process, low cost and does not have to be used by laboratory employees alone. The application is a Paper Age Prediction Application made desktop-based, using the MATLAB programming language with the Anfis Sugeno (TSK) Gaussian membership function method. Image processing by taking the average values of C, M, Y, and K from 70 images used as a database and will be trained with ANFIS. The research method uses interviews, observations, and literature studies—the prototype application development method. The test results showed an application success rate in identifying 60 data that had been trained by 100% against 40 that had not been trained by 42.5%.
