Abstract

Learning will, of course, undergo a process of renewal in order to adapt to the demands of current developments, such as the curriculum update carried out by the government in recent years, namely the Merdeka Curriculum. In the Merdeka curriculum, students are required to always be active in the learning process and give teachers the freedom to use any model or method according to the needs of each student. When conducting research. The aim of this research is to find out whether there is an implementation of active learning in class 4 of SDN Blumbungan 3 Pamekasan. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method, which is an approach that states certain social situations by describing reality correctly in the form of words based on data collection and analysis techniques. relevant information obtained from natural situations involving teachers and students. The descriptive method is a method that examines a group of people, objects, conditions, thought systems, or current events. The descriptive qualitative research technique analyzes the implementation of active learning, namely by conducting observations, interviews, and documentation. The results found in class 4 at SDN Blumbungan 3 did not implement active learning because the teacher still used a lecture, discussion, and question-and-answer system in the learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the discipline characteristics of fifth-grade students at SDN Banyuajuh 2 during the scout extracurricular activities with marching rules material. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method. The subjects used are fifth-grade students. Sampling in this study uses purposive sampling. The research sample consists of 6 fifth-grade students. Data collection methods include observation sheets, interviews, and documentation. The research findings are as follows: In terms of punctuality, students depart on time for scout exercises and school, as observed with all students being punctual both when going to school and during scout exercises. The students perform tasks given by the scout leader promptly. During the marching rules exercises, all students carry out the given tasks from the leader, such as following th commands related to marching rules, correctly and on time. Regarding adherence to rules, students comply with school regulations, as observed with all students adhering to school rules. This is evident from students attending classes on time and participating well. Students also contribute to maintaining environmental cleanliness by participating in cleanliness duties and disposing of waste properly. Additionally, students follow the commands of the scout leader and exhibit perfect behavior when receiving the "ready" command during the execution of marching rules exercises. In terms of wearing the prescribed uniform, including the scout uniform, scout hat, scout neckerchief, appropriate grade-specific accessories, belt, and black socks, all observed students, except for one (EF), adhere to the uniform regulations during scout exercises. The exception is student ef, who wears white socks during the second day of scout exercise observations

Abstract

This research aims to determine the significant influence of the application of the problem based learning model on the creative thinking skills of V grade elementary school students. This research is experimental research using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design research design. Sampling was taken using a non-probability sampling technique, saturated sampling type. The research sample was 30 students, namely 15 students in the experimental group and 15 students in the control group. Data was collected using interviews, observation, tests and documentation. The research results show that the problem based learning model has an effect on students' creative thinking skills. The instrument trials used were validity and reliability tests, while data analysis used normality tests and homogeneity tests. Hypothesis testing using the independent t-test. The calculated significance value is 0.000. Based on the test criteria if the Sig. < 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05), then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means there is an influence on the application of the problem based learning model on the creative thinking skills of V grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Science is a process og gaining knowledge related to activities looking for natural phenomena or fact through natural activities or research by observation using the scope of physical science. Physical science is a learning process that provides direct experience for children to interact with scientific materials and encourages children’s initiative to explore these phycical materials. Physical science is seen as a process so that in learning it must consider learning strategies or methods, one of which is through demonstration and practical activities. This research uses a qualitative type of research with research using the literature study method. The results of the research explain the importance of science and science activities that can be carried out with children by introducing God’s creation and all of nature using experiments that are safe for children.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze collaboration skills in science learning for the 4th grade. This study was conducted using a descriptive quantitative methodology. Thirty primary school pupils served as the research subjects. Utilizing research instruments in the form of interview and observation sheets, data was gathered through interviews and observations. The study's result is that, with an average of each indication ranging from 20 to 50%, research subjects are classified as less and not collaborative. This is a result of the lack of application of collaboration skills, which makes their application essential for developing students' collaborative character.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the stages of implementing exploratory science for early childhood through the making of simple ice cream. The method used is literature review. The results of this study indicate that exploratory science for early childhood through the making of simple ice cream is one form of application of the concept of exploratory science. Through the stages of preparation, implementation, and closure, children are given the opportunity to explore natural phenomena related to changes in material state, cooling, and mixing of ingredients through the making of ice cream. In this process, they not only learn directly about basic scientific concepts such as physical changes and mixing of materials, but also train gross and fine motor skills and experience the results of their experiments. The overall activity enriches children's learning experiences and helps them understand the physical world in an interactive and enjoyable way.

Abstract

This paper reports students’ involvement in a classroom project, called extended writing project (EWP), to help undergraduate students write their first essay. The EWP aimed at encouraging the students to work collaboratively with their peers and teacher, give and respond to feedbacks, and work independently outside the classroom. During the process of EWP, we equipped the students with a mini book to help them record the whole activities and monitor their progress. We involved 20 first year undergraduate students enrolled in a writing course, which was a compulsory course to prepare the students for writing their research project and thesis in the final year of their degree program. We used several instruments such as pre-posttest to know the students’ writing improvement, open-ended questionnaire to obtain their perceptions toward the EWP, the mini book to obtain a comprehensive understanding on the students’ activities including kinds of feedbacks provided by their peers, and an informal interview to know how they dealt with the feedbacks. The results indicated that EWP positively affected the students’ writing skill. Furthermore, in term of writing components (fluency, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and content), EWP was able to improve all those aspects but spelling. The open-ended questions informed that the students felt that EWP was able to increase their confidence and motivation to write. The redundancy of writing draft, however, exhausted them all the time.
