Abstract

Music concerts that are managed in a sustainable manner have significant value and can provide many benefits to the community and the destination where the concert takes place if the positive impact is cultivated. To achieve this great potential, continuous music concert event management must be widely adopted and expanded as a common practice. The establishment of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) as a multi-event and multi-function infrastructure has the potential to develop music tourism through concerts. This study uses a qualitative descriptive analysis method with secondary data sources in the form of literature studies and online publications. The aim of this study is to identify the potential of JIS as a music concert infrastructure, the roles and responsibilities of management for the sustainability of events at JIS, to describe sustainable concert management strategies that can be implemented at JIS. The output of this research generates insight and knowledge about the management of sustainable music concert events at JIS which can be used as a tourist attraction for domestic and foreign tourists. This study indicate that JIS is an event infrastructure that is ready to be used both in terms of facilities and management to develop music tourism through music concerts at JIS. Strategy of sustainable event management proposed in this study is specifically designed to be implemented based on the main roles and responsibilities of sustainable music concert management at JIS.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze exhibition management in a case study of the Baby & Kids Expo 2020 exhibition activities based on collaborative governance. Trade is the second largest sector contributing to economic development in Indonesia. Exhibition or exhibition is one of the events used to increase a company's income through buying and selling transactions in the trade sector. Currently, the market size for baby equipment in Indonesia reaches Rp. 10.4 trillion, the Baby & Kids Expo exhibition is here to take advantage of this momentum. Of course the implementation of the Baby & Kids Expo exhibition was carried out not only because of the government's intervention in it but because of the support of various stakeholders. This stakeholder collaboration is then known as collaborative governance. This research seeks to see the role and collaboration that exists between various stakeholders in the management of the Baby & Kids Expo exhibition event based on collaborative governance.

Abstract

Persepsi Masyarakat Lokal terhadap Dampak Lingkungan dari Festival Jazz Gunung Bromo adalah sebuah studi yang mengeksplorasi persepsi penduduk Wonotoro mengenai dampak lingkungan dari festival tersebut. Festival ini diadakan di amfiteater terbuka di Jiwa Jawa Resort Bromo di Wonotoro, yang terletak di dalam kawasan Taman Nasional Bromo Tengger Semeru, yang merupakan rumah bagi banyak flora dan fauna langka yang dilindungi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dampak positif dan negatif terhadap lingkungan dari penyelenggaraan festival musik di taman nasional. Metode kuantitatif digunakan, dan kuesioner didistribusikan kepada 96 penduduk desa Wonotoro. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan dan pendapatan per bulan menentukan persepsi positif penduduk tentang lingkungan yang ditimbulkan dengan adanya festival, sementara status perkawinan, tingkat pendidikan, dan pendapatan per bulan menentukan persepsi negatif. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa penduduk yang berpendidikan lebih tinggi lebih sadar akan lingkungan, sementara penduduk yang berpendidikan lebih rendah merasakan dampak negatif. Penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi dua faktor baru yang berkaitan dengan perubahan perilaku masyarakat dan dampak buruk terhadap lingkungan akibat adanya event internasional berskala besar. Faktor pertama meliputi kesadaran masyarakat dan keindahan lingkungan, sedangkan faktor kedua meliputi kemacetan jalan, polusi suara, penurunan kualitas udara, sampah, dan keramaian yang tidak menyenangkan. Abstract

Solo International Performing Art (SIPA) is a tourism event held in Solo, Central Java. SIPA is one of the pioneers and a legendary event and continue for 15 years. SIPA is a leading event, involving international delegations and becoming the icon of the Solo City cultural festival. The Solo Government has the brand “Solo The Spirit Of Java” which has been used for 17 years and is still considered very relevant. This research wants to see how SIPA as a leading event contributes to strengthening the branding "Solo The Spirit Of Java". This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, data obtained by in-depth interviews with purposive sampling of key informants, SIPA CEO, SIPA Manager, Tourism Office and Festival Activists. The results showed that SIPA strengthened Solo city branding through various things, namely Javanese cultural content at the SIPA event, event themes, event locations, promotional materials and event publications which were carried out massively and highlighted Solo as a Javanese cultural city. The use of the ornament branding "Solo The Spirit Of Java" in the design and implementation of the event becomes an inseparable identity. SIPA strengthens Solo's branding as a leading event that is promoted internationally throughout the year by collaborating across stakeholders and involving volunteers (SIPA community), media and community partners. SIPA has succeeded in encouraging tourist visits to Solo through holding events for both domestic and foreign tourists. Expert opinion says that SIPA strengthens solo branding through display and content.

Abstract

Indonesia Event Industry Council (IVENDO) in 2020 showed that 43% of events were canceled and 48% were postponed during the pandemic. One of the innovations that are considered to be able to provide solutions for the current event industry is virtual events. One that adapts the implementation of virtual events is the convention and event management study program from the Bandung NHI Tourism Polytechnic which applies practical activities by implementing virtual events. The event held is a webinar series with the name event talks. This study aims to examine the effect of the entertainment variable and informativeness variable on the decision to participate in event talks. This research was conducted with a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 165 respondents from year 2022 who had participated in event talks using a purposive sampling technique. The theory used is the entertainment theory of Horner (2005), the theory of informativeness from Suyanto (2000), and the theory of participating decisions from Allen (2011). The results of the study explain that entertainment and informatics significantly influence the decision to participate in event talks by 37.6% while the remaining 62.4% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study. Thus, in the future, the organizers can pay attention to aspects of other variables that can be an attraction for potential participants.

Abstract

Based on research conducted by 2016, the results show that purchasing decisions are influenced by the product and people marketing mix by 8% and 17%. However, the characteristics of the Umrah package purchase decision are different from other products. Umrah packages have different characteristics from other products because they are related to the goal to be achieved, namely worship so that consumers consider many things before deciding to use an Umrah package product. This study aims to examine the effect caused by product variables and people variables on the purchase decision of the umroh package at PT. Satria Barokah Wisata. This research was conducted with a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 260 pilgrims at PT. Satria Barokah Wisata from 2022 that has used the Umrah package by using purposive sampling technique. The theory used is the theory of travel packages from Nuriata (2014), theories about the ability of employees from Mangkunegara (2010) and purchasing decision theory from Kotler & Keller (2002). The results of the study explained that the product and people significantly influence the decision to purchase an Umrah package at PT. Satria Barokah Wisata amounted to 72.9% while the remaining 27.1% was influenced by other variables, which were not examined in this study. Thus the need for special attention from the Umrah travel organizer company, especially PT. Satria Barokah Wisata in paying attention to the product marketing mix and people to influence consumer purchasing decisions to choose the products they offer. With this result, it is hoped that it will become an opportunity for PT. Satria Barokah Wisata to optimize other promotion channels to increase sales.
