Abstract

In recent decades, language education has increasingly incorporated innovative pedagogical approaches designed to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Among these approaches, game-based learning has gained considerable attention as an effective strategy for promoting active participation and motivation in foreign language classrooms. This study investigates the impact of game-based activities on learning German as a foreign language (GFL). The research explores how interactive learning environments that incorporate educational games influence learners’ motivation, communicative competence, and vocabulary retention. A mixed-method research design was employed involving 72 undergraduate students enrolled in introductory German language courses. The experimental group participated in structured game-based activities including vocabulary games, role-play simulations, collaborative tasks, and digital quiz platforms, while the control group received traditional instruction. Data were collected through language proficiency tests, classroom observations, and learner questionnaires. The findings indicate that students exposed to game-based learning demonstrated significantly higher motivation levels, improved vocabulary retention, and greater speaking confidence than those taught through traditional methods. These results support previous research highlighting the positive effects of gamification on language learning outcomes. The study concludes that game-based learning represents an effective pedagogical tool for improving German language instruction and creating interactive learner-centered classrooms

Particular attention is paid to the ways in which global cultural, informational, and economic processes influence the interpretation, preservation, and representation of historical memory and cultural identity. The study analyzes the tension between globalizing tendencies that promote cultural standardization and local efforts aimed at safeguarding national heritage and unique historical narratives. It is argued that globalization not only poses challenges to traditional forms of cultural transmission but also creates new opportunities for reinterpreting and revitalizing cultural heritage through transnational communication, digital technologies, and intercultural dialogue. The article emphasizes the role of historical narratives as a key mechanism for maintaining social cohesion, cultural continuity, and collective identity in an increasingly interconnected world. Based on a socio-philosophical and cultural analysis, the study highlights the necessity of developing balanced strategies that integrate global openness with the protection of cultural diversity and historical authenticity

Abstract

This article examines the sociocultural and pragmatic preconditions for the use of foreign-language insertions in the prose of Alexander Pushkin within the historical and literary context of the first third of the nineteenth century. French and German, functioning as symbols of cultural capital and markers of aristocratic identity, played a crucial role in shaping salon, academic, military, and professional discourse in Russian high society. The study analyzes the multifunctional nature of interlingual insertions in Pushkin’s works, particularly in The Captain’s Daughter and The Queen of Spades, demonstrating that such elements serve not merely as stylistic embellishments but as complex semiotic devices. The research concludes that foreign-language fragments in Pushkin’s prose form a multilayered continuum in which sociocultural symbolism, pragmatic function, and compositional strategy intersect. Understanding these interrelations is essential for structural-semantic analysis and for developing effective translation approaches that preserve the semantic, pragmatic, and stylistic integrity of the original text

Abstract

Assessing grammar in young learners (YLs) presents unique pedagogical and methodological challenges due to their developmental characteristics, cognitive readiness, and learning styles. Unlike adult learners, children acquire grammatical competence largely through implicit processes, requiring assessment approaches that are contextually embedded, interactive, and developmentally appropriate. This article explores theoretical foundations of grammar acquisition in young learners, principles of effective assessment, and practical strategies for evaluating grammatical competence in primary English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms. Special attention is given to alternative assessment methods such as observation, portfolios, games, and technology-enhanced tools. The discussion also considers challenges faced in EFL contexts, particularly in countries like Uzbekistan, where curriculum demands and classroom realities may influence assessment practices. The article concludes with pedagogical implications for teachers and recommendations for improving grammar assessment in young learner contexts

Abstract

Although the criminal genre in Uzbek literature has not yet been fully studied from a theoretical perspective, literary works belonging to this field are actively being written under such genre labels as adventure, detective fiction, thriller, and crime prose. In recent years, many works devoted to the mysterious “paths” of crime have been published. Among them, there are artistically mature examples, as well as texts criticized by literary scholars and readers as “market literature” or “light fiction.” This article examines language and style issues in Uzbek criminal fiction and analyzes the creative styles of writers working in this thematic direction. Special attention is given to the works of O‘lmas Umarbekov, Tohir Malik, Xurshid Do‘stmuhammad, and Komiljon Sindarov, whose contributions have shaped the development of national detective and criminal prose. The article argues that successful criminal fiction depends not only on unexpected events and mysterious plots but also on artistic style, psychological depth, compositional skill, linguistic precision, and the meaningful use of details. The study also discusses weaknesses found in some contemporary Uzbek criminal works, including excessive narration, insufficient artistic refinement, dependence on sensational events, and the danger of unintentionally romanticizing criminal characters
