Abstract

Learning theory is an important foundation in the process of education and effective learning. The two main theories that play a role in it are humanistic and constructivist learning theories. However, in reality, there are still many educators in the learning process in the classroom who use methods that tend to only focus on reward and punishment and there is also no active involvement of students. So that the impact on the cognitive development of students becomes slow. The aims of this study: 1) to analyze humanistic learning theory, 2) to analyze constructivist learning theory, 3) to analyze humanistic and constructivist learning theory in an Islamic perspective. The literature review was used by researchers in this study using documentary techniques as data analysis techniques. The results of the study explain that in the learning process the methods used by educators must be varied, so as to help students develop their knowledge and focus on humanizing students so that students do not only receive rewards or punishments.

Abstract

This article was written with the aim of describing the strategies used by Islamic religious education teachers at SMP Negeri 6 Taman, Pemalang Regency in instilling character education values. Apart from that, various supporting and inhibiting factors are also described in instilling character education values for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 6 Taman, Pemalang Regency. This is because character development is an important thing that must be done by teachers, especially Islamic religious education (PAI) teachers. This is because through religious education (Islam), teachers can introduce students to and at the same time instill social values that live and are maintained in people's lives which are part of good human character and personality. This article uses a type of field research by applying a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique goes through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation process, and conclusion drawing process. The results of the study in this article show that the PAI teacher's strategy in instilling character education values in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 6 Taman, Pemalang Regency uses several strategies, namely through habituation activities, being a model and role model, mentor and motivator, and giving punishment. The supporting factors in instilling character education values in students are teachers who can be role models, parental education at home, school facilities, routine and extracurricular school activities. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are lack of teacher competence, lack of parental education, environmental and social factors.

Abstract

This article aims to understand the transnational Islamic movement with a focus on three countries: Indonesia, Brunei, and Thailand. Transnational Islamic movement refers to the flow and influence of Islam that transcends national borders and has significant impacts on the social, political, and religious developments in the involved countries. This case study will discuss the key characteristics of the transnational Islamic movement in Indonesia, Brunei, and Thailand, as well as the factors influencing its development. Additionally, the article will also analyze how this movement plays a role in shaping the Muslim identity in these three countries. The research methods employed in this article are descriptive and comparative analysis. Data is obtained through literature studies and document reviews. The research findings indicate that the transnational Islamic movement in Indonesia, Brunei, and Thailand exhibits different characteristics depending on the respective countries' histories, cultures, and political situations. Factors such as migration, social media, financial support, and political issues play crucial roles in the development of this movement. In conclusion, the transnational Islamic movement has significant impacts within the contexts of Indonesia, Brunei, and Thailand.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is: (1) to examine the implementation of Islamic jurisprudence education through a problem-based learning (PBL) approach, (2) to determine whether the utilization of the PBL teaching model leads to an improvement in students' learning achievement, and (3) to explain the results of jurisprudence learning when using the PBL model. The research methodology used in this study is the classroom action research (CAR) method. CAR serves as a mechanism for addressing potential challenges in the educational environment. The procedure consists of four distinct phases, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The iterative process of these four phases is characterized by a consistent sequence of steps and is focused on discussion-based learning aimed at honing problem-solving skills through the PBL model. The research results indicate a significant improvement in student learning outcomes through the implementation of the PBL model. The observed improvement is evident through the cycles that were carried out. In cycle I, the average score for the pretest was 29.26, and the average score for the posttest was 73.68. In cycle II, the average pretest score was 47.68, and the average posttest score was 86. The use of the PBL model in jurisprudence subjects has been observed to yield optimal learning outcomes, as evidenced by an achievement score of 86.84%.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the improvement in students' learning outcomes through the application of the demonstration method in the subject of Islamic Religious Education, specifically the topic of Funeral Prayer (Shalat Jenazah), in class XI Science at Muhammadiyah 2 Wuluhan High School. The research method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research was conducted from May 10, 2023, to May 25, 2023, in class XI Science at Muhammadiyah 2 Wuluhan High School. Data collection method was a test, and the instrument used was a student test sheet. Based on the research results obtained, student engagement increased during the implementation of the demonstration method. Specifically, the percentage of learning achievement in Cycle I was 77%, and in Cycle II, it increased to 85%. The conclusion drawn from this research is that teaching the demonstration method for the Funeral Prayer material showed that the application of the demonstration learning method led to an increase in students' learning outcomes, with a percentage increase in the pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II in each meeting, successfully meeting the completion criteria.
