Abstract

Background: Musculoskeletal Disorder is a disease or complaint that occurs in parts of the skeletal muscles that are felt by a person ranging from very mild complaints to very severe complaints. MSDs complaints can be caused by several factors such as work posture, workload, gender, age, body size, and so on. Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between gender, workload, and work posture to MSDs complaints felt by workers in tofu factories in the Piyungan District area. Methods: This study used a quantitative method. observational analysis of cross sectional  design design.Cross sectional design is a research design by measuring or observing at the same time exposure to variables, with a case study design of workers in sections. This study used the REBA method, SNI 7269:2009 standard measurement, and Nordic Body Map  questionnaire to see worker complaints Results: There was a significant relationship between work posture and complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorder in tofu manufacturing workers in Piyungan District with a p-value of 0.050 (p-value<0.05). There was a significant relationship between workload and complaints  of Musculoskeletal Disorder in tofu manufacturing workers in the Piyungan District area with a p-value of 0.041 (p-value<0.05). There was a significant relationship between sex and complaints  of Musculoskeletal Disorder in tofu manufacturing workers in the Piyungan District area with a p-value of 0.050 (p-value<0.05). Conclusion: This study shows a significant relationship between work posture, workload, and gender and complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorder in tofu making in Piyungan District.

Abstract

Background: PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has a commitment to always consistently and without compromise in implementing a railway safety management system in order to realize the company's vision of becoming the best transportation ecosystem solution for Indonesia through railway operational services and a safe, healthy, secure and comfortable working environment and sustainable environmental preservation. The aim of this research is to determine the implementation of the K3 program in the Lempuyangan station operating unit. Method: The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Results: The research results show that all K3 implementations such as K3 SOPs, K3 signs and PPE are available and have been implemented, as for the K3 implementations in operating units, namely (1) briefing before work; (2) use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working; (3) providing safe boundaries on platforms, for example yellow lines along the platform path; (4) comply with work procedures and report if there is a potential danger nearby. Even though there is an K3 implementation program in the Lempuyangan station operating unit, there is no special team such as HSE that monitors workers' compliance with K3 implementation directly every day, only from superiors such as the station head and deputy station head. The special team that supervises and controls is from the center which will come but only periodically. But even so, the K3 SOP still works and is implemented well. Conclusion: the implementation of the K3 program in the Lempuyangan station operating unit has been carried out well but must be monitored so that it continues to run well.

Abstract

Background: Fatigue is a condition in which the body physically and mentally shows differences that can result in decreased performance and lower body resistance to work activities. This fatigue condition can result in a decrease in work productivity and an increased risk of accidents. Some of the factors that cause work fatigue are age, working period and hot work climate. The existence of this study aims to determine the relationship between fatigue and age, working period and hot work climate in tofu factory workers in Mejing Village, Candimulyo District, Magelang. Method: this study is a quantitative research using a cross-sectional approach. A total of 31 respondents from tofu factory workers in Mejing Village, Candimulyo District, Magelang became research samples obtained by total sampling technique. Instruments used: Respondent data sheets, fatigue measurement table results and hot work climate measurement results. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate chi-square tests Result: The results showed that there was a gap between age and work fatigue (p-value 0.001), working period (p-value 0.006), and hot work climate (p-value 0.001) with the risk of work fatigue in tofu factory workers in Mejing Village, Candimulyo District, Magelang. Conclusion: there is a relationship between age, working period and hot work climate with work fatigue in tofu factory workers in Mejing Village, Candimulyo District, Magelang.

Abstract

Background: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a health problem caused by the compression or pinching of the median nerve that passes through the carpal tunnel in the upper extremities. Several subjective complaints of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome were found at three petrol stations in Yogyakarta City. In addition, subjective complaints of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome are also influenced by age, duration of work and repetitive movements. This study aims to determine the relationship between age, work duration and repetitive movements of pressing the nozzle with subjective complaints of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in fuel filling operators at petrol stations. Methods: The type of research used is quantitative descriptive research with a cross sectional approach. This research was carried out at three Yogyakarta City petrol stations, namely Giwangan petrol station, Lempuyangan petrol station and Semaki petrol station with a research sample of 46 people. Data collection was carried out by questionnaire method about CTS subjective complaints to fuel filling operators. This study uses univariate, bivariate analysis and chi-square test. Results: It was found that there was a relationship between the age variable and the subjective complaints of CTS with a p-value of 0.005, there was a relationship between the variable of work duration and the subjective complaints of CTS with a p-value of 0.038 and there was a relationship between the variable of repetitive movements and the subjective complaints of CTS with a p-value of 0.038. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, the variables of age, duration of work and repetitive movements of pressing the nozzle have a relationship with subjective complaints of CTS in fuel filling operators at three petrol stations in Yogyakarta City
