Abstract

The problem raised in this study is that the acculturation of Chinese and Buddhist traditions is yet know at Vihara Karuna Jala Serpong. The purpose of this study was to describe the acculturation of the Chinese and Buddhist traditions at Vihara Karuna Jala Serpong. Qualitative method is used in this research. The object and scope of this research is the acculturation of Chinese and Buddhist traditions at Vihara Karuna Jala Serpong, while the reseacrh subjects are temple administrators, people, and surrounding community. Data collection techniques using the methods of obsevation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis used by the reseacrher is the analysis of the MilesHuberman model analysis which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are: (a) the froms of acculturation of Chinese and Buddhist traditions at Vihara Karuna Jala Serpong, namely the from of acculturations activities between Chinese traditions and Buddhism there are player activities commemorations of Chinese and Buddhist holiday as well as various kinds of activities and training there are even form of altars and buildings that support acculturation between Chinese and Buddhist traditions. (b) the effects of acculturation of traditions and Buddhism are positive and negatif. The positive impacts of acculturation between Chinese traditions and Buddhism are: understanding the teachings of the Buddha, strengthening the situation between Chinese tradition and Buddhism, motivating youth, and providing happiness, while the negative impacts are: people do not understand well, do not care about traditions and consider tradition diffcult and complicated.

Abstract

Cleansing ritual of bathing at the 7 Gayatri Vihara Wells wasperformes not only by Buddhists but also by communities of diverse culturalbackground. It is known that most who perform the cleansing ritual areBuddhist. This fact it is interesting to research in the meaning of the 7 SacredWell in the society especially buddhist who perform cleansing ritual. Purposeof this research is to know the meaning of the 7 Sacred Well in The GayatriVihara, Cilangkap, Depok, West Java.The research uses qualitative approach with phenomenon model.Informant in this research are the owners, the believer, and the visitor of 7Sacred Well at the Gayatri Vihara. Data collecting technique used isobservation, interview, and documentation. Data analyzed using Miles,Huberman, and Saldana. Data validity technique are done with credibilitytest, transferability, dependability, and confirmability.The research concluded (1) the process concist of the ritual at 7 Wellsincludes cleansing the body with seven dipper at each wells, going to amerta’spools, plunging eight times, then cleansing the body of eight dipper at themiddle well, one dipper was taken to rinse (something); three times; prostrateat the well, toss a coin, follow instruction for cleansing; pray according tointention and believe; pray first before cleansing; cleansing first then prays.The purpose of the visitor are to prays and perform cleansing ritual,recreation, and asking help in resolving mortal problem. The expectation ofvisitors to perform the cleansing ritual is to gain health, trouble-freeingprosperity, get married, be reassure and hopeless. The cleansing ritual wasalso performed on kliwon Tuesday night, kliwon Friday, first suro night,bakcang days, a light moon night, and a dark moon night. Where at nightcleansing there is keyholder who helps the cleansing ritual and there is aceremony that become socialating between believer, visitors, and community;(2) visitors take to mean the ritual to outward and inner cleansing, reliefer,trust and believe, and just to be clean. Then the visitors view of the ritualphenomena at 7 Wells Gayatri Vihara if it believes it is can get beneficial thewells, there is for good, and purification and cleansing; (3) impact in spiritualsense are nothing (only an object of hope) and serene and sincere in the courseof life’s sorrows. Later on the life lessons gained form cleansing ritual for visitors are they have no lessons, and easy to concentrate, and more ease tofacing with life’s problems.

Abstract

Kegiatan puja bakti di vihara menjadi hal yang penting bagi umat Buddha dan dapat diikuti oleh seluruh kalangan umat. Minat pemuda dalam mengikuti puja bakti di vihara dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh efikasi diri, solidaritas kelompok, dan dukungan sosial keluarga terhadap minat pemuda dalam mengikuti kegiatan puja bakti di Vihara Sobhita Tangerang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode ex post facto. Responden penelitian ini adalah 51 orang pemuda Vihara Sobhita di Tangerang. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan angket valid dan reliabel. Hasil uji prasyarat menunjukan bahwa data berdistribusi normal, ketiga variabel independen terhadap variabel dependen bersifat linear, tidak terjadi autokorelasi, data penelitian dapat dianalisis dengan menggunakan regresi linear berganda, serta tidak terjadi heteroskedastisitas pada setiap variabel. Dengan demikian, analisis data dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis regresi berganda. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa efikasi diri, solidaritas kelompok, dan dukungan sosial keluarga berpengaruh secara simultan terhadap minat pemuda dalam mengikuti puja bakti di Vihara Sobhita Tangerang (Fhitung = 3,580 dan probabilitas signifikansi = 0,000). Persamaan regresi linier berganda yang diperoleh yaitu Y= 4,335 + 0,543X1+ 0,241X2 + 0,450X3. Sumbangan yang diberikan efikasi diri, solidaritas kelompok, dan dukungan sosial keluarga terhadap minat pemuda mengikuti puja bakti di Vihara Sobhita Tangerang sebesar 68,2%. Hasil analisis regresi secara parsial simpulan bahwa: (1) efikasi diri berpengaruh terhadap minat pemuda mengikuti puja bakti di vihara jika variabel solidaritas kelompok dan dukungan sosial keluarga dikendalikan (t = 3,248 dan probabilitassignifikansi = 0,002); (2) solidaritas kelompok tidak berpengaruh terhadap minat pemuda mengikuti puja bakti di vihara jika variabel efikasi diri dan dukungan sosial keluarga dikendalikan (t = 1,035 dan probabilitas signifikansi = 2,012); serta (3) dukungan sosial keluarga berpengaruh terhadap minat pemuda mengikuti puja bakti di vihara jika variabel efikasi diri dan solidaritas kelompok dikendalikan (t =2,726 dan probabilitas signifikansi = 0,009).

Abstract

Sikap spiritual merupakan sikap yang membentuk karakteristik seseorang dalam bentuk perbuatan atas dasar sikap pribadi yang terbentuk dan menjadi suatu faktor pembentukan serta perkembangan terhadap kualitas mental. Sikap spiritual dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor yang diantaranya kepribadian dan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah belum diketahuinya pengaruh kepribadian dan kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap sikap spiritual mahasiswa Sekolah Tinggi Agama Buddha Negeri Sriwijaya Tangerang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepribadian dan kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap sikap spiritual mahasiswa Sekolah Tinggi Agama BuddhaNegeri Sriwijaya Tangerang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain noneksperimen yaitu pendekatan metode ex post facto dan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Responden penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa aktif dan beragama Buddha di Sekolah Tinggi Agama Buddha Negeri Sriwijaya Tangerang yang berjumlah 209 mahasiswa. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan angket yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil uji prasyarat normalitas dengan menggunakan residual Kormogorov‒Smirnov menunjukkan bahwa data berdistribusi normal (nilai sebesar 1,272 dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,079). Hasil uji Linieritas menunjukkan bahwa X1 berpengaruh linear terhadap Y (F = 0,907 dan signifikansi = 0,592), X2 berpengaruh linear terhadap Y (F = 3,243 dan signifikansi = 0,000). Dengan kesimpulan variabel bebas pada penelitian ini memiliki pengaruh linear dengan variabel terikat. Hasil uji multikolinieritas menunjukkan bahwa tidak terjadi multikolinieritas atau tidak terdapat hubungan di antara variabel bebas dengan VIF variabel X1 dan X2 = 1,645 10. Hasil uji heteroskedastisitas menunjukkan bahwa signifikansi korelasi independen XI = 0,946 dan variabel X2 = 0,722. Dengan kesimpulan tidak terjadi heteroskedastisitas pada model regresi. Hasil uji autokorelasi menunjukkan bahwa nilai DW sebesar 1,768 yaitu antara dU = 1,7574 dan (4‒dU) = 2,2426). Dengankesimpulan tidak terjadi autokorelasi. Hasil uji hipotesis simultan menunjukkan bahwa Fhitung = 97,968 Ftabel = 3,06 dengan signifikansi 0,000 0,05. Dengan demikian terdapat pengaruh kepribadian dan kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap sikap spiritual mahasiswa Sekolah Tinggi Agama Buddha Negeri SriwijayaTangerang dan terdapatnya sumbangan sebesar 57,2%, sedangkan 42,8% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini. Berdasarkan hasil uji prasyarat analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa data dianalisis dengan analisis regresi berganda dan menggunakan bantuan SPSS version 15.0 for windows evaluation version menunjukkan bahwa kepribadian dan kemampuan berpikirkritis berpengaruh terhadap sikap spiritual. Persamaan regresi linear berganda yang diperoleh adalah Y = 23,154 + (1,000)X1 + (0,411)X2. Hasil regresi secara parsial yaitu kepribadian berpengaruh terhadap sikap spiritual jika kemampuan berpikir kritis dapat dikendalikan (t = 8,468 dan nilai signifikansi = 0,000), kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap sikap spiritual jika variabel kepribadian dapat dikendalikan (t = 3,385 dan nilai signifikansi = 0,001).

Abstract

The problem raised in this study is that there is no comprehensive description of the meaning of carrying out Buddhist religious rituals for early childhood in the Kindergarten of Bina Harum Bangsa School. The purpose of this study was to describe the meaning of carrying out Buddhist religious rituals for early childhood in the Kindergarten of Bina Harum Bangsa School. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this study were early childhood children at Bina Harum Bangsa School, early childhood teachers at Bina Harum Bangsa School, and guardians of early childhood students at Bina Harum Bangsa School. This research was carried out in January, February, and June 2021. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Test the validity of the data include credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmamability. The data that has been obtained were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, namely data collection, data condensation, display, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are: (1) the meaning of implementation is aspects of early childhood development and rituals as supporting aspects of early childhood development; (2) implementation objectives include: (a) school objectives are efforts to achieve the school's vision, mission and goals, and as an effort to implement the curriculum; (b) the aim of the teacher is to strengthen the beliefs of early childhood, to instill the value of respect for those who deserve to be respected, to practice the Buddhist way of worship, to inculcate the teachings of Buddhism, and to support aspects of the moral and religious development of early childhood; (c) the objectives of the guardians are efforts to change the bad character of children, efforts to support early childhood development, and efforts to increase the belief in Buddhist teachings for early childhood; (3) the benefits of implementation include: (a) the benefits received by the school are that the school gains the trust of parents and the community; (b) the benefits received by students are the habit of giving greetings, awareness of giving, practicing meditation, memorizing namakarapatta, practicing Buddhist Pancasila, being diligent in Buddhist Sunday School, being able to get along, being able to behave positively, being able to be tolerant, and being able to respect older people.
