Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian berdasarkan pemahaman kritis perbedaan kediamansamana zaman Buddha yang menekankan samana untuk memilih hutan dan tempattempatsepi untuk latihan pengembangan batin, sedangkan saat ini tidak mendukunguntuk berdiam di hutan dalam menjalankan hidup suci. Tujuan dari penelitian yaitu,mendeskripsikan konsep kediaman samana, menjabarkan karakteristik kediamansamana zaman Buddha dan era postmodern, menjabarkan analisis persamaan danperbedaan kediaman samana zaman Buddha dan era postmodern. Metode yangdigunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian komparatif dengan analisis wacanadan hermeneutika dalam bentuk studi kepustakaan. Alasan pemilihan analisis wacanadan hermeneutika karena penelitian ini menafsirkan dan menganalisis secara teks dankonteks sejarah kediaman samana zaman Buddha yang kemudian dibandingakandengan keadaan saat ini dan dikaji dalam bentuk kepustakaan. Tempat tinggal yangsesuai bagi samana adalah tempat tinggal yang mendukung dalam menjalani hidupsuci, tempat yang tenang, dan mendukung pengembangan batin. Persamaan kediamansamana zaman Buddha dan era postmodern dapat dikelompokkan sebagai berikut: 1)berdasarkan kegunaan, fungsi kediaman samana zaman Buddha adalah untukmelindungi samana dari berbagai macam gangguan sehingga dapat mempraktikkanDhamma, 2) berdasarkan peraturan, peraturan yang tertulis pada zaman Buddha masihrelevan jika diterapkan saat ini, sehingga samana tetap berpedoman pada vinaya yangtelah ditetapkan untuk menjaga kesucian samana. Analisis perbedaan tempat tinggalsamana zaman Buddha dan saat ini: 1) berdasarkan letak geografis, kediaman samanazaman Buddha tertelak jauh dari dari pemukiman penduduk (di hutan) dan kediamansamana saat ini di vihara-vihara pedesaan dan perkotaan sangat dekat dengan aktivitaspenduduk, 2) berdasarkan situasi dan kondisi, 3) berdasarkan karakteristik, padazaman Buddha samana sulit mendapatkan empat kebutuhan pokok tetapipengembangan batin cepat berkembang, sedangkan saat ini lebih mudah dalammendapatkan empat kebutuhan pokok tetapi pengembangan batin lambatperkembangannya, 4) berdasarkan pola hidup, tuntutan tugas dan kewajiban samanasaat ini yang semakin banyak menjadikan samana memiliki kediaman yang lebihmodern sesuai perkembangan zaman.

Abstract

The problem raised in this study was the education of samanera at STAB Kertarajasa. Thisstudy was aimed to describe the role of management of samanera education at STAB KertarajasaBatu, East Java. This research used descriptive qualitative research. The informants in this study werethe chairman, lecturer, and administration staff of STAB Kertarajasa Batu, East Java. The data werecollected by using interview, observation, and documentation method. The data were analyzed byusing the Miles Huberman model which consists of data collection, data reduction, display data,and verification. The results of this research were focused on (a) management of luhur samanerabehavior at STAB Kertarajasa, (b) samanera's simple life forms program at STAB Kertarajasa (c)factors affecting hard training on samanera education at STAB Kertarajasa. (d) obstacles tomanaging samanera education at STAB Kertarajas, (e) samanera's response in the community.

Abstract

Permasalahan penelitian ini adalah belum dipahaminya kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap pelayanan teknologi dan sistem informasi Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Buddha di Tangerang. Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap pelayanan teknologi dan sistem informasi Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Buddha di Tangerang. Penelitian juga bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap pelayanan teknologi dan sistem informasi ke dalam kategori tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif, dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Buddha di Tangerang yang berjumlah 102 orang. Objek penelitian adalah kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap pelayanan teknologi dan sistem informasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian populasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik nontes menggunakan kuesioner. Lokasi penelitian yaitu pada Sekolah Tinggi Agama Buddha Negeri Sriwijaya Tangerang Banten dan Sekolah Tinggi Agama Buddha Dharma Widya. Kuesioner menggunakan empat klasifikasi berdasarkan skala Likert. Teknik analisis data dengan teknik statistika deskriptif menggunakan nilai rata-rata (mean) dan standar deviasi. Hasil penelitian menyatakan kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap pelayanan teknologi dan sistem informasi Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Buddha di Tangerang sebesar 77,29%. Interpretasi yang didapat dengan mencari interval skor persen berdasarkan skala Likert menyatakan 77,29% termasuk dalam kategori sangat puas. Tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa sebesar 14,00% dalam kategori tinggi, 76,00% kategori sedang, dan 10,00% dalam kategori rendah. Tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap pelayanan teknologi dan sistem informasi Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Buddha di Tangerang untuk dimensi tangible sebesar 79,73%, dimensi reliability sebesar 76,45%, dimensi responsiveness sebesar 76,94%, dimensi assurance 77,99%, dan untuk dimensi emphaty sebesar 75,32%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mendiskusikantentang tradisi ritual Puja-Puji Bahasa Ibuditinjau dari perspektif etnografi dan linguistik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmendekripsikan bentuk, makna, dan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang terkandung dalamritual Puja-Puji Bahasa Ibu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah dekriptif kualitatif. Datadiperolah dari hasil wawancara secara mendalam dan kajian kepustakaan.Berdasarkan temuan di lapangan diperoleh sejumlah leksikon dalam bentuk kata danfrasa dalam bahasa Jawa. Di samping makna leksikal yang diperoleh, realisasi secarakultural tergambar pada pemaknaan secara simbolik. Pemaknaan secara simbolikmerepresentasikan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang berkolaborasi dengan ajaran agamaBuddha.

Abstract

This article presents several fundamental perspectives which are derivatively generated frombuddhism point of view. The peripheral basis of buddhist teaching, ethics, and spiritual goals have longbeen acquainted with the practices of modern education worldwide. The absorbances may representedby the accommodation of practical ethics, values and insights for both management, practical,pedagogocal and educational policies. However, there are many misundersanding and misconceptiontoward the application of buddhist pedagogy in school-system environment, educators‟ behaviors aswell as the outcomes in the curriculum. Therefore, revitalization and re-orientation should be madetowards the on-going practices of today‟s buddhist education and whole stakeholders within. As aframework, buddhist fundamental pedagogy must be able to transform human being and helping themto develop potentials. For long term purpose, buddhist education must also educate spiritualengagement with life, contextual surrounding and social phenomenon for better humanity andspirituality. Finally, as a result, buddhist education should have assigned its goal for positiveoutcomes and regards to the current situation of today‟s livelihood.

Abstract

The precepts/morals ethics that Buddha taught are very relevant to the current situation of theglobalization era. Behaving morally is a condition of self-internalization and strict safeguarding thevirtues and not harming others. Therefore, the precepts become the basis in creating patterns of socialinstitutional management in dealing with various conditions of changes in the modern era faced by theworld community. The institutional world will become safe and peaceful with the presence ofInstitutional Management Based on Buddhist Ethics.In analyzing and dissecting the data of the text referred to using the theory of structuralfunctionalism, hermeneutics, and paticcasamuppada so that it is expected to get a clear understandingto reveal the Institutional Management Based on Buddhist Ethics. It can be seen that based on dataanalysis the texts refer to the pattern of institutional management in forming a harmonious systemand therefore there are conditions that are interrelated to one another. Institutional ManagementBased on Buddhist Ethics is the basis and guide in creating a managerial system that is Buddhist.Institutional management will function properly and correctly on the basis of the behavior of eachindividual in it which is operationally guided by Buddhist morals.90This research was conducted to find out how Institutional Management Based on BuddhistEthics. Abstract

Penelitian merupakan penelitian survei korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh fraud diamond terhadap integritas akademik mahasiswa STABN Sriwijaya. Penelitian ini melibatkan 104 mahasiswa sebagai sampel yang dipilih menggunakan disproportionate stratified random sampling dari 132 populasi mahasiswa. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui penggunaan angket fraud diamond yang terdiri atas 48 butir pernyataan dengan memuat dimensi tekanan (pressure), peluang (opportunity), rasionalisasi (rationalization), dan kemampuan (capability) serta angket integritas yang terdiri atas 39 butir pernyataan dengan memuat dimensi kejujuran (honesty), kepercayaan (tirust), keadilan (fairness), rasa hormat (riespect), dan tanggung jawab (responsibility). Keseluruhan data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial masing-masing dimensi fraud diamond berpengaruh negatif terhadap integritas akademik. Demikian halnya secara simultan, dimensi fraud diamond berpengaruh terhadap integritas akademik mahasiswa STABN Sriwijaya sebesar 65,40%, sementara 34,60% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak menjadi fokus di dalam penelitian ini.

Abstract

This article is the result of a study that began with increasing of the „identity politics‟, whichemphasizes the role of a religion to achieve politics goals, assuming only one religion is the mostcorrect while the others religions is wrong. In internal aspect of religion, it is considered as a sectarianexclusivism which considers anly one sect to be completely right, other sects is wrong. Within theBuddhist community, sectarian exclusivism hypothesized still exists. Although it does not causephysical disputes between people, an exclusive attitude can hamper the process of preservation anddevelopment of Buddhism. From these considerations, a study was conducted to find out theperceptions of Buddhist leaders in Jakarta and Tangerang regarding exclusivism in Buddhism. Thisresearch is a descriptive qualitative study by case study approach. The data collected was analyzedusing the Miles and Huberman model, through data collected, reduction, display and verification orconclusions. Credibility data was carried out by triangulation, member checks, discussions with peers,and also extension of research time. From the results of the study it could be concluded that Buddhistleaders perceive that internal exclusivism is still needed and important for the existence ofsects/assemblies because it describes the characteristics, identity associated with one sect with anotherthat is suitable for increasing faith to Triple Gem. External exclusivism with assuming the only one isthe truest, the best, the purest and consider the others were wrong is unnecessarily because they onlycause dispute and hinder the development of Buddhism. Factors that cause sectarian exclusivism inBuddhism are associated with assumptions that if there is no internal sectarian exclusive attitudeseroded traditions that have been bequeathed by ancestors, the egos of leaders, and different perspectiveand leadership paradigm regarding Buddhism. Positive values of sectarian exclusive attitudes arestrengthening the faith of the people to the truth (Dhamma), maintaining the traditions of each sectsthat show the identity, and the characteristics of each sects. The negative values of exclusivism arepotentially making dispute in communities due to mutual disdain, assume their sect is the easiest, thebest, the purest and considers as the only truest sect. Efforts are made to reduce the impact of sectarianexclusivism in Buddhism by holding a joint Vesak celebration, joint social activities, such as socialservices, joint Health Walks Program; strengthen the role of non-sect organizations that can unifyBuddhists such as the Banten Buddhist Forum (FUB), Gemabudhi, and the Indonesian BuddhistReligious Council Association (Permabudhi).

Abstract

The emergence of puritan religious groups with a strong character, it will be forced to reexplorethe relationship between religion and pluralism. The group will remain ignorant of itsdoctrines and opinions and assume that with this belief they will claim the most correct. Puritangroups have variations in names and movements but their diversity of character has the same lines andcorridors. Puritan groups in Buddhism arise in large sects or sects in Indonesia such as the puritangroups of the Indonesian Theravada Buddhist Council, Maitreya groups, Mahayana groups, Tridharma Indonesia, and others.In this study using a qualitative approach (quality research) which reveals a phenomenon togain understanding with data in the form of qualitative data. This research is to find out the paradigmof Buddhist puritans in a plural society that is by openly interviewing schools of Buddhism. Inqualitative research the source of data comes directly from what is experienced by researchers as themain instrument, data embodied in words or images, pay more attention to process rather than results,in analyzing data more likely to use inductive methods.The results obtained show that there are different paradigms in Buddhism regarding theemergence of puritans. The different paradigm followed by listening to responses from religious leadersand youth in the school of Buddhism. After writing in this research, hopefully it will benefit to youngpeople, religious leaders, Buddhist communities and other communities in general.

Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan hasil penelitian mengenai evaluasi program persiapan TOEFLmahasiswa STABN Sriwijaya. Evaluasi ini dilakukan dalam proses kegiatan belajar mengajar selamaenam bulan atau setara dengan 23 jam, dengan mata kuliah Bahasa Inggris III yang notabenemerupakan mata kuliah mengenai persiapan TOEFL bagi mahasiswa STABN Sriwijaya. Tujuan daripenelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi program persiapan TOEFL mahasiswa STABN Sriwijaya selamasatu semester, berfokus pada pemberian materi pembelajaran, dan nilai TOEFL yang diperoleh.Program persiapan TOEFL ini ditujukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penguasaan BahasaInggris mahasiswa STABN Sriwijaya menggunakan TOEFL prediction test. Berdasarkan hasilpenelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa (1) secara keseluruhan TOEFL preparation test telahdilaksanakan dengan hasil bervariasi. Hasil pembelajaran TOEFL preparation test selama satusemester (14 pertemuan x 100 menit = 1400 menit, atau setara dengan 23 jam) menghasilkanpeningkatan rata-rata nilai pretest TOEFL dan posttest TOEFL; (2) skor TOEFL prediction test inihanyalah sebagai prediksi mahasiswa dalam melakukan TOEFL, tidak bisa dijadikan sebagaijaminan bahwa nilai mahasiswa akan sama dengan skor TOEFL aslinya; (3) kelas persiapan TOEFLpreparation ini perlu diadakan lagi, dan ditambah intensitas waktunya agar hasil skor TOEFLmahasiswa lebih maksimal. Saran bagi penelitian ini adalah: (1) perlunya pembelajaran yang intensifbagi kelas tes persiapan TOEFL, (2) motivasi mahasiswa perlu ditingkatkan agar skor TOEFLmahasiswa meningkat, terutama dengan menambah kosa kata, pengetahuan grammar atau structure,listening, dan reading comprehension, (3) sosialisasi pentingnya skor TOEFL yang tinggi bagimahasiswa untuk berbagai keperluan, seperti persyaratan untuk melamar beasiswa di luar negeri danprasyarat untuk studi lanjut ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi, (4) mahasiswa perlu dimotivasi untukmengikuti kursus atau UKM Bahasa Inggris agar keterampilan berkomunikasi menggunakan BahasaInggris lebih terasah dan lebih mahir dalam berbahasa Inggris, sehingga dapat bersaing secarakompetitif di dunia kerja.
