Abstract

Understanding the concept becomes the main basis in the achievement of learning mathematics. However, mathematics learning at SMPN 1 Enam Lingkung has not shown ability to understand students mathematichal concepts. Therefore, a apply the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning type model to see its effect on understanding of students in mathematical concepts.  The research type used is a quasi-experimental study and the posttest only design with nonequivalent groups. Based on data analysis using t-test, it can be concluded that the understanding of the concepts of students who learn with the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) model is more good than students who learn with the direct learning model in class VII SMPN 1 Enam Lingkung. Keywords– Teams work, Understanding Mathematical concepts, Student Teams Achievement Divison (STAD) Model, Mathematics Learning

Abstract

Interactive media is a means of supporting learning that can increase interest and motivation to learn and affect the psychology of students so that learning becomes easier. Interactive media help students understand the learning material and develop their critical thinking skills. This study intends to develop an interactive learning media based on constructivists that is valid and practical on flat-sided building materials in class VIII SMP / MTs. This type of research is development using the Plomp model. The plomp model is composed of Preliminary, Prototyping and Assessment Phase. In the introduction, needs analysis, student analysis, curriculum analysis, and concept analysis were carried out. The prototyping stage is in the form of designing interactive learning media. In prototype 1, self evaluation and expert review are carried out. Expert review was conducted to see the validity of the developed interactive learning media. In prototype 2, a one-to-one evaluation trial was carried out by testing interactive media with three students. The result of the research shows that constructivist based interactive media on the flat side space building material has a validity level in the very valid category.  Interactive media has a practicality level in the very practical category. Abstract

Mathematical literacy abilities are important abilities for students to solve daily problems and develop their mathematical ability. Then, the students need to have mathematical literacy ability because this ability is one of the national focuses in the future in assessing the quality of education in schools. But, in reality the students of class XI MIPA at SMA Negeri 3 Padang have low mathematical literacy ability. The effort that can be made to improve that ability of students are to apply Realistic Mathematics Education model. The type of the research is quasy experiment research with non-equivalent posttest only control group design. Results showed that mathematical literacy ability of students that apply Realistic Mathematics Education model is better than mathematical literacy ability of students that apply conventional learning. Moreover, the mathematical literacy ability of students that apply Realistic Mathematics Education model has increased significantly.Keywords– mathematical literacy ability, realistic mathematics education, conventional learning

Abstract

One of the objectives of learning mathematics is that students have a good understanding of mathematical concepts. However, students' conceptual understanding is still relatively low. One of the efforts that can be done to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts is to apply the Two Stay Two Stray type of Cooperative learning model. students who study with conventional learning and describe the development of students' understanding of mathematical concepts during the implementation of the Two Stay Two Stray Cooperative learning model in class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Gunung Tuleh. This type of research is a quasi-experimental with the nonequivalent posttest-only control group design. The population of the study was students of class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Gunung TulehT for the academic year 2022/2023 with class XI MIPA 1 as the experimental class and XI MIPA 2 as the control class. Research data were collected through quizzes and tests of students' mathematical concept understanding abilities. Quiz score data were analyzed based on the average score, as well as the percentage of students' scores per indicator. The test data were analyzed using t-test.  Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that in general the development of students' understanding of mathematical concepts has increased while using the TSTS model. Then, based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be seen that the understanding of mathematical concepts of students who use the TSTS learning model is better than the understanding of mathematical concepts of students who study with conventional learning models. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the TSTS learning model on the understanding of students' mathematical concepts. Keywords– TSTS learning model, Mathematical Concepts Understanding,Quasi Experiment

Abstract

The tipe of risearch used is a quas experimental with  a researh desig  using Non-equivalen Posttest Only Control Group Desig. academik year. Samples were taken using the Simple Rndom Sampling technique, so that clas XI IPS 1 was chosen as the experimental class and XI IPS 2 as the control clas. The instrument used is in the form of a final test of the ability to understand mathematicall concepts in the form of essay questions. The data obtained were analyzed by normality test, homogenety test and t tes. Basid on the analisis of the final test, it was obtained  that P-value = 0. Because the P-Value is les than = 0.05, it’s mean that thire is an influenc from the aplication of the Tem Assisted Individualization (TAI) learning model on the abiliity to understan mathematical conceps of students, so that the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who learn with the Team Asisted Individualization (TAI) learning model is better than the ability to understand mathematicallconcepts of students wh’so learn with the drect’s  learning mode’sl.. Keywordsi– Cooperative, TAI, Mathematicall concepts understanding.

Abstract

Mathematical communication ability is basically the main goal of the learning process. However, in reality, the mathematical communication skills of class XI students at SMA Negeri 3 Padang are still low. This is seen by analyzing the answers to mathematical communication skills and it is found that students have not been able to solve the problem. One of the efforts that can be done to overcome these problems is by applying the Think Talk Write type of cooperative learning model. Abstract

The goal of learning mathematics is to grow problem-solving skills, but in reality, participants' ability to solve mathematical problems remains low. One of the efforts that can be made to overcome the problem is the use of a problem-based learning model. The research method used is quasi experimental research with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design research design. Based on the results of the final test data analysis, it was concluded that the application of the problem-based learning model has an effect on the ability of mathematical students to solve problems, such that the mathematical problem-solving skills of students who learn with the problem-based learning model are superior to those of students who learn with the direct learning model.. Keywords– Problem Based Learning Model, Mathematics Learning, Mathematical Problem SolvingSkills

Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) the learning errors shown in the mathematics learning process and (2) the learning errors shown in the mathematics learning outcomes of the eighth grade students of SMPN 11 Padang. The source of data in this research is using purposive sampling. Students are grouped into three categories of high, medium, and low learning achievement. Data collection using tests and interviews. The results of the study showed that the errors made by students in solving the problem of building a flat side space were Conceptual Errors and Procedural Errors. The cause of student errors in solving the problem of building a flat side space is influenced by several causes. The causes of conceptual errors include (1) Students do not understand the meaning of the problem, (2) Students are wrong in choosing the formula, and (3) Students cannot apply the formula properly. The causes of procedural errors include (1) Students do not follow the steps in solving problems, (2) Students lack practice in working on questions, and (3) Students are not able to solve problems to a simple stage. Keyword: Build a flat side space, Description, Student learning errors

Abstract

Mathematics Learning result can be an indicator of the success of a learning process. However, the result of mathematics learning in second grade of science major at SMA Negeri 1 Solok is still low. At least, the main reason is that the learning model used in class does not make  student active in learning process. Therefore, we need a learning model that can make learning outcomes better than before. In this research the researcher use a model called Knisley Learning Model. Knisley has four stages in its implementation, where there is a different division of roles between teacher and student in each step of learning. The purpose of this research is to describe and find out whether the learning outcomes of students who use Knisley Learning Model are better than students who learn with direct learning in XI classes at SMAN 1 Solok. This research use Quasi-experimental method with Non-equivalent control where only group design as reseacrh design. Based on related data analysis, the reaseracher found that there is an effect where mathematics learning outcomes learned by applying Knisley learning model are better than mathematics learning outcomes learned with direct learning models in XI MIPA classes at SMAN 1 Solok.
