Abstract

This study aims to analyze the inclusive and transformational leadership styles based on gender equality implemented by Khofifah Indar Parawansa in her leadership as the Governor of East Java for the 2025–2030 period. Amid the dynamics of regional development that demand the participation of all societal groups, leadership styles that are responsive to gender equality issues are essential to ensure the realization of social justice and equitable welfare. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review and documentation methods, this article examines the characteristics of Khofifah's leadership, which emphasizes openness, participation, and empowerment of vulnerable groups, especially women. The analysis reveals that Khofifah implemented innovative policies such as the Gender-Responsive Development Planning Forum (Musrenbang Gender), the “Women- and Child-Friendly Village” program, and “Jatim Puspa” (East Java Women's Business Empowerment), which have proven effective in increasing women's participation across various sectors. Additionally, her transformational leadership style is reflected in the strategic program "Nawa Bhakti Satya," aimed at building a more inclusive, just, and sustainable social system. This study concludes that the combination of inclusive and transformational leadership based on gender equality significantly contributes to creating effective, responsive, and equitable regional governance.

Abstract

This study explores the leadership model of Muhammad Farhan, the 2025 Mayor of Bandung, by examining how his leadership aligns with the city's vision and mission. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative method, data were sourced from official government platforms, reputable online news, and audiovisual materials reviewing his first 100 days in office. The analysis reveals that Farhan employs a combination of transformational, bureaucratic-adaptive, and participatory leadership styles. His focus lies in promoting innovation, enhancing digital public services, and encouraging community engagement in decision-making. Nevertheless, challenges persist, such as a relatively low initial public satisfaction rate (44%) and criticism of his preference for ceremonial activities over addressing fundamental urban issues such as waste management and traffic congestion. The study suggests improving two-way communication with the public, increasing leadership presence in the field, and fostering active public involvement in the evaluation of government programs.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of Islamic financial literacy on public interest in becoming customers of KB Bank Syariah Bukopin, Darmo Branch. The research was motivated by the low public understanding of Islamic banking products and principles. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal three main themes: (1) understanding Islamic finance concepts enhances confidence in bank products, (2) religiosity-based trust increases transactional security, and (3) service and educational experiences strengthen customer interest. Analysis using the Miles and Huberman interactive model indicates that Islamic financial literacy serves both cognitive and affective roles in influencing customer interest, supported by effective communication and service strategies. The study concludes that Islamic financial literacy not only improves public understanding but also reinforces their intention to choose Islamic banking. Theoretically, this study expands the perspective on Islamic financial literacy by highlighting experiential and value-based dimensions. Practically, it provides insights for Islamic banks, particularly KB Bukopin Syariah, to design more effective educational and marketing strategies. Future research should integrate qualitative and quantitative methods for broader validation.

This study examines the effects of Buy One Get One (BOGO) promotions and social media strategies on perceived value and consumer satisfaction for Islamic film tickets at Cinema XXI Solo Grand Mall, focusing on students in Surakarta. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 179 respondents through purposive sampling and analyzed via Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0. Results indicate that BOGO promotions significantly increase consumer satisfaction, while social media strategies have no direct significant effect. Both BOGO promotions and social media strategies, however, positively influence perceived value, which partially mediates their impact on satisfaction. This research contributes to understanding how promotional tactics and digital marketing interact to shape consumer perceptions in the niche Islamic film market and provides actionable insights for cinema managers to optimize marketing strategies targeting student audiences.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of gamification on purchase decisions, mediated by customer experience and customer brand engagement, among users of the "Indomaret Saku" platform in Yogyakarta. This research adopts a quantitative approach with primary data collected through a comprehensive questionnaire using a 5-point Likert scale. The population comprises users of the Indomaret Saku application in Yogyakarta, with a final sample of 166 respondents selected through purposive sampling techniques based on specific criteria including age range, application usage frequency, and geographical location. Data analysis was performed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method with SmartPLS 3.0 software, enabling rigorous testing of the proposed structural model. The results demonstrate that gamification exerts a positive and significant effect on both customer experience and customer brand engagement. Furthermore, the analysis confirms that customer experience and customer brand engagement significantly mediate the relationship between gamification and purchase decisions, highlighting the complex psychological mechanisms through which game elements influence consumer behavior in digital platforms.

Abstract

The high prevalence of smoking among individuals aged 15–24 in Indonesia represents a serious issue requiring greater attention, particularly in relation to the effectiveness of fiscal and social policies. This study aims to analyze the impact of excise rate increases, total tobacco production, and education level on youth smoking prevalence in Indonesia. Panel data from 34 provinces for the years 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2023 were utilized. The analytical method employed was panel data regression with a fixed-effect approach, selected based on the results of the Chow and Hausman tests. The findings reveal that, partially, excise rate increases have a negative and significant effect on youth smoking prevalence, while total tobacco production shows no significant effect. Education level exerts a negative and significant influence on youth smoking prevalence. Simultaneously, the three independent variables significantly affect youth smoking prevalence in Indonesia. These results suggest that fiscal policies, such as excise rate increases, alongside improvements in access to education, can serve as effective instruments in reducing smoking prevalence among young people. The study recommends that the government further optimize excise policies and educational programs as strategic measures to control tobacco consumption in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the influence of parenting styles and parents’ socioeconomic status on children’s interest in pursuing higher education in the southern coastal region of Jember. The research was motivated by the low participation of coastal children in higher education, largely influenced by limited economic conditions and family upbringing patterns. Using a quantitative survey approach, data were collected from 82 respondents across four coastal districts Ambulu, Wuluhan, Puger, and Kencong through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive and multiple linear regression techniques. The findings indicate that parenting style has a significant influence on children’s educational interest, while socioeconomic status does not show a significant effect. Democratic parenting, which provides support, freedom, and motivation, enhances children’s desire to continue their studies, whereas authoritarian and neglectful styles tend to lower it. The study concludes that although economic limitations remain an obstacle, parental support and awareness play a more decisive role in shaping educational motivation. Therefore, it is recommended that parents, schools, and local governments collaborate to strengthen educational values and create programs that encourage coastal children to pursue higher education.
