Abstract

The Integrated Health Center is a community-based health initiative that aims to empower and facilitate the community's access to essential health services to reduce maternal mortality rate (MMR) and infant/child mortality rate. However, there is a need to increase the number of visits from mothers with toddlers to the Integrated Health Center, aiming for a 41% participation rate. This study seeks to investigate the role of cadres in promoting the involvement of mothers' toddlers in the Integrated Health Center program and to identify the factors that impact their participation rate. Conducted using a qualitative approach with a case study design and purposive sampling focusing on cadres, the data was gathered through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions (FGD), utilizing source and method triangulation for comprehensive insight. The findings indicate that cadres in the community serve as motivators, educators, and health service providers. They can recognize needs, address barriers, and facilitate the provision of health services. In addition to the cadres at the Integrated Health Posts (Posyandu), factors such as education level, economic status, and accessibility to health facilities play a role in the participation of mothers with toddlers in the Posyandu program. This research underscores the essential role of Posyandu cadres in encouraging the engagement of mothers with toddlers.

Abstract

Stunting is currently still a health problem that needs to be resolved, where one of the contributing factors is providing poor nutritional intake in food or Complementary Breast Milk (MP-ASI) to children under two years old. The aim of this research is to determine the implementation of the practice of giving MP-ASI to mothers who have babies aged 6 - 12 months in an effort to prevent stunting in Cikunir Village. This type of quantitative research uses descriptive methods, with a population of 52 mothers with babies aged 6-12 months. The research results showed that 77% or 40 respondents did not pay attention to how to give MPASI properly and correctly, where the majority of mothers gave MPASI in non-neutral environmental conditions and fed for more than 30 minutes, while there were 5 variables, namely texture, frequency, variety, portion. and cleanliness is appropriate. Increasing communication of information and education by all health service settings starting from Village Midwives assisted by cadres is very important to increase the understanding of mothers of toddlers about the practice of feeding MPASI to toddlers.

Abstract

The participation of cadres in the execution of the stunting program aligns with the key principle of addressing stunting in Indonesia, focusing on convergence, coordination, and consolidation of national, regional, and community initiatives. Cadres play a crucial role in promoting child and maternal health by serving as primary sources of health information for mothers. The study aims to examine the contribution of cadres in combating stunting in Cikunir Village, employing a quantitative approach with descriptive methods targeting cadre mothers as the population. Findings indicate that 56 individuals (98.24%) displayed good knowledge, while one person (1.75%) exhibited sufficient knowledge. Additionally, 45 individuals (78.95%) received strong spousal support, with 12 individuals (21.05%) lacking sufficient support. Regarding the performance of Posyandu cadres, 51 individuals (89.47%) demonstrated a commendable role, while 6 individuals (10.53%) displayed inadequate performance. Posyandu cadres are expected to lead the efforts in preventing stunting cases effectivel.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is the highest type of cancer in Indonesia after breast cancer. In 2022 there will be 660 thousand new cases, and at least 350,000 women worldwide will die from cervical cancer. Prevention efforts that can be taken are HPV vaccination. The 2022-2024 Immunization Introduction Program only targets elementary school girls in grades V and VI, while outside the target group it is carried out independently. Women's low knowledge about HPV affects their confidence in vaccination. The research aims to measure the effectiveness of providing Health Education with videos on the level of knowledge and interest in HPV Vaccination of Tegal City High School Female Students. This research used a quasi-experimental design, the research population was 621 female students at SMUN 3 Tegal City, the research sample was 30 respondents in the intervention group and 30 respondents in the control group. Data collection using questionnaires, data analysis using Mc. Nemar's test and Fisher's test. The research results concluded that Health Education with videos had an effective effect in increasing knowledge compared to education without videos (p value 0.00) but was not effective in increasing interest (p value 0.067).
