Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to find out how the strategy for collecting zakat funds is carried out by Baitul Mal, Aceh Tamiang Regency and to find out how the implementation of zakat fund collection in Baitul Mal, Aceh Tamiang Regency. Method – The research method used is qualitative research, using data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that: First, socialization of zakat collection is through education providing understanding to the community of prospective muzaki. Second, the creation of a zakat collection unit (UPZ), which is an organization formed by the Amil Zakat Agency at all levels with the task of collecting zakat to serve muzakki. Third, the opening of the zakat receipt counter, namely so that more people pay zakat, donate, and give alms. Fourth, opening a bank account to make it easier for muzaki to pay zakat. Fifth, direct zakat collection is to make it easier for muzakki to pay zakat if they do not have time to come directly to give zakat. Results – The results of the study show that the implementation of the collection of zakat funds carried out by Baitul Mal, Aceh Tamiang Regency, firstly online collection, second zakat collection unit, third zakat pick-up service and fourth paying directly to Baitul Mal. Limitations – This study has limitations in terms of strategies for collecting zakat funds which still tend to be few. Practical Implications – As a practical implication, the results of this study can increase zakat literacy and become input for the government, especially zakat institution organizations in encouraging zakat fund collection strategies in Baitul Mal Aceh Tamiang.

Abstract

Purpose – The main objective of this study is to examine whether the socialization and professionalism of amil affect the motivation of muzakki to pay zakat at Baitul Mal in Aceh Tamiang, either partially or simultaneously. Methodology – This study applies multiple regression analysis and classical assumption test to handle the primary and secondary data to examine the effect of socialization and professionalism of amil on muzakki’s motivation. It also uses cluster random sampling to decide the possible samples to be interviewed. Findings – The results show that socialization partially has a positive and insignificant effect on the motivation of muzakki to pay zakat. But partially amil professionalism has a significant positive effect on muzakki's motivation to pay zakat at Baitul Mal Aceh Tamiang. Overall, the socialization and professionalism of amil simultaneously have a significant effect on the motivation of muzakki to pay zakat. Based on the R2 test, 22.9% socialization and professionalism of amil affect the motivation of muzakki who pay zakat in Baitul Mal Aceh Tamiang, while 77.1% is explained by other factors. Limitation – Despite the author’s efforts, data on a number of variables, are collected by questionnaire instruments only at Baitul Mal in Aceh Tamiang. Therefore, further studies may collect data on another location and apply different approach to examine their impact on the muzakki’s motivation. Practical Implication – Zakat institution has important implications for encouraging the socialization strategy and professionalism of amil to be able to create a mindset of the community in order to create motivation to pay zakat through Baitul Mal.

Abstract

Purpose – The purpose of this research is knowing the level of effectiveness and implementation of the productive infaq distribution program in improving the mustahik economy. Method – This research uses descriptive qualitative research, is a research that describes the state of the object of research at the present time as it is based on the results of observations, interviews, and documentation. Result – The results showed that the distribution of productive infaq has been effective, it can be seen from the increase in the income of mustahik after receiving productive infaq from Baitul Mal Aceh Tamiang. The results also show that the distribution of productive infaq aims to help the poor who have small and medium businesses to provide capital injections to suppress the movement of moneylenders and increase family income. Limitation – This research has limitations in terms of the relatively small number of research subjects, then the research subjects are mustahik from the Baitul Mal Aceh Tamiang food security program which will be distributed productive infaq to mustahik who are entitled to receive it. Practical Implication – As a practical implication, the results of this study can be used as a reference by the government, especially zakat institutions in distributing productive infaq to improve the mustahik economy. So that by maintaining all existing SOPs, it provides an optimal impact in the distribution process of all kinds of activities.

Abstract

Objectives - This study aims to measure the effect of accountability and financial statements transparency on muzakki zakat paying consistency in Baitul Maal, Langsa City. Method - The data used in this study is primary data using a questionnaire distributed to muzakki who pay zakat in Baitul Maal, Langsa City. The analytical technique used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis. The research results show that the variables of accountability and transparency of financial statements partially affect the consistency of muzakki in paying zakat in Baitul Maal, Langsa City. The adjusted R Square value is 54.8%, which shows that the variable of accountability and transparency of financial statements can explain the variable consistency of muzakki paying zakat in Baitul Maal, Langsa City, by 54.8%. Limitations – This study has limitations regarding the relatively small number of research subjects. Practical Implications – As a practical implication, the results of this study can be used as a reference by the government, especially zakat institutions, in increasing the accountability and transparency of financial reports on the consistency of muzakki in paying zakat.

Abstract

Purpose—The purpose of this article is to try to look at the risk aversion determination factors that encourage the behavior of the educated workforce using or not using insurance products. The indicators used are income, education level, number of Dependents, Gender, employment status, place of residence, generation group, insurance product information Method—The analysis model used is probit regression. Primary data obtained through a survey of 111 respondents and only 93 educated workers in Aceh Province met the specifications and filled in completely. Research Results—The results show that only employment status has a positive and significant effect on labor preferences for insurance products, while other factors are not significant. Limitations — This research is still limited in samples, factors that are used as objects of research and less in-depth about the role of information affecting people's behavior. This is a suggestion for researchers to further conduct more comprehensive research. Practical Implications—The results of this study can be used as a reference for the government and companies must synergize with each other in planning insurance programs. High-income workers are expected to join insurance programs, mutual care is an important social capital to maintain the economy. The government or insurance company must increase the socialization of information on the importance of insurance programs to deal with the uncertainty of future risks.

Abstract

Objectives – to find out the Baitul Mal strategy in increasing public interest in paying zakat, infaq and alms at Baitu Mal Aceh Tamiang. Methods – The research method used is descriptive qualitative with interview as the instrument Findings – The results of this study explain that by increasing the socialization program implemented by Baitul Mal, will yield on the public awareness and knowledge on the programs. Promotions which are undergone will be in the forms of billboards, banners and institutional website in order to make it easier for the public in gaining information related to Baitul Mal and its program. Practical Implication – The results of this study can be utilised as a reference by the government, especially zakat institutions
