Abstract

The fast-paced development of technology has made it a necessity in society. Without exception, social media, especially for Generation Z always depends on a variety of social media. This development extends to the religious world, namely making some social media as contemporary da'wah media. In the period of time, the shift of da'wah in electronic media occurred in the 2000s, namely through radio, television, and other media. This research uses the netnography method, which looks at the consumptive culture based on cyberspace or online. In this research search, a variety of social media are popular among Generation Z, such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. The content of Instagram @halimahalaydrus, for example, can be seen as the account only presents religious sentences and images that relate to today's society. This also happens in TikTok, bringing up pieces of videos about contemporary da'wah such as that performed by Gus Iqdam in account @Gus Iqdam Official. Some of these views show da'wah in a contemporary way by utilizing popular social media.

Bukittinggi City faces significant disaster threats, particularly from earthquakes, Mount Marapi eruptions, and hydrological disasters. Disaster risk reduction mitigation activities are carried out through various schemes and programs. One such program is the Environmental Urban Resilience Program (Ketahanan Bencana Lingkungan Kelurahan or KBLK), implemented by the Bukittinggi City Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). The purpose of this research is to identify the types of activities undertaken by KBLK in disaster mitigation and to explore the roles of KBLK in disaster mitigation in Bukittinggi. A qualitative research method with a descriptive approach, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation, was employed to understand the issues and phenomena surrounding disaster programs. This study found that five KBLK organizations in Bukittinggi conduct disaster mitigation activities, including risk assessments, disaster response planning, and contingency planning, the formation of disaster risk reduction forums (PRB), capacity building for communities in disaster management, the integration of disaster risk reduction into urban development plans, as well as activity monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. The roles and functions of disaster mitigation activities as perceived by the community include raising awareness about disasters, enhancing vigilance, and providing understanding. The functions of disaster mitigation activities felt by the community include increasing their knowledge about disaster mitigation, understanding their local conditions, and enabling them to analyze and take      self-evacuation measures in the event of a disaster.

Abstract

Stunting on the news is a major problem in Indonesia. Aceh is in fifth place in 2022, with the prevalence of stunting in Banda Aceh at 25.1%. Rumoh Gizi Gampong is a national program aimed at reducing the number of stunts. The program has been launched since November 2020 in Gampong Jawa. The aim of this research is to know how to empower the Rumoh Gizi Gampong program against the efforts to reduce the stunting number in Gampong Jawa. Methods used in conducting this research are qualitative research methods with a case study approach. Data collection techniques used in this study are observations, interviews, and documentation. The results of the research show that the empowerment of the Gampong Jawa Rumoh Gizi Program in reducing the stunting rate in has not been fully performed. It's because the enforcement factor doesn't work as it should. On the community-centric aspect, it is evident that the empowerment implemented emphasizes the knowledge of human resources as a major factor in the decline in stunting numbers. The socialization aspect doesn't work out to the maximum because the parents don't have much time to participate. Besides, the knowledge given at the time of socialization to society is often repeated. On the empowering aspect, parents have acquired knowledge for the decline in stunting numbers in children. But in terms of sustainability, this is invisible. There are many factors that influence the decline in stunting numbers, namely social, economic, and environmental aspects.

Abstract

Gender equality is one of the goals to achieve a sustainable and better life in facing global challenges. This research is a literature study using descriptive-analytical method. The approach used is a philosophical-critical approach. The philosophical-critical approach is necessary because it aims to pursue the researcher's ideas that can have an impact on substantial matters in society. This exploration tries to reveal the harmonization of Asghar Ali Engineer's feminist perspective of gender equality with Islam and its relevance to the SDGs critically. Data sources in this research are obtained by collecting primary and secondary data. The results of this study show that in Asghar Ali Engineer's view, men and women both have rights in the social sphere that refer to the principles of justice and humanity. Engineer refers to the Qur'an to show that the holy book explicitly recognizes that people must be treated fairly, regardless of gender, and must accept the consequences of their actions in the same way, whether they are men or women. The inherited patriarchal culture is due to differences in understanding. Engineer's view shows that religion can be a solution when understood normatively and contextually, including to realize the SDGs.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the declining number of Acehnese speakers in everyday interactions within the community in Banda Aceh. This research aims to identify the factors influencing the shift in the use of the Acehnese language in daily interactions among the community in Banda Aceh. The analysis in this study employs Herbert Blumer's symbolic interactionism theory and utilizes a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings of this study reveal that the shift in the use of the Acehnese language begins within the family environment. A lack of awareness among parents to pass down and instill the use of the Acehnese language in their children leads to a failure in cultural transmission to future generations. In addition to family, the school environment also contributes to the declining use of the Acehnese language, as teaching activities predominantly use Indonesian, with minimal local Acehnese language lessons. Furthermore, the influx of migrants in Banda Aceh who are not proficient in Acehnese also results in the community rarely using the Acehnese language in public, making Indonesian the dominant language used as a collective action to adapt language use to those around them. This study highlights the need to enhance the collective awareness of the community in preserving and maintaining the Acehnese language, as well as the necessity for educational policies that better support the teaching of the Acehnese language in schools.
