Abstract

Traditional Games Returns (TGR) is a non-profit community that the mission is to restore and introduce Indonesian traditional games. This counted as the asset and cultural heritage to preserve national identity. Along with the development of technology, traditional games are now rarely played. Thus, TGR Community campaigned through Instagram to grab its target which is digital generation. This study will reveal how TGR as a community utilizes social media according to the perspective of information, community and action (Lovejoy and Saxton, 2012) as well as qualitative approach. The result showed that TGR used public figures for message effectiveness and credibility. Then TGR created interactive and creative content such as nostalgic values, and involved participation from netizens by making competitions and utilizing hashtag feature. Suggestions for further research is dig more deeper about creative strategies in content creation, this is actually main factor in attracting potential and main followers to participate, that makes non-profit organization survive. Abstract

Among the types of mass media, television has become one of the popular medias in Indonesia. One popular television programme is I Look, where one of the events discusses fashion. This research is expected to provide a clear understanding of the motive used by the viewers of the television on I Look programme Net TV. Motive theory with 4 dimensions (information motive, personal identity, integration, and entertainment motive) is the supporting theory in this research. Uses and gratification theory is a supporting theory, because it explains how an individual is a selective person in using the media. Respondents in this research are followers of account instagram @ilook_net. Sample technique used in this research is non probability sampling, that is quota sampling, and uses descriptive quantitative method. The results in this research found that the motive information became the main motive in watching I Look impressions; followed by the motives of entertainment, integration, and personal identity.Keywords: I look, fashion programme, motive, uses and gratification

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the perception of KARMA impression on ANTV by the people of east Kalianak Surabaya.the initial problems in television show, especially the KARMA reality progam which occupied the first slot of each show. Every KARMA broadcast tell about phenomena that occur in society. Strory themes such as sexual harassement, crime, and mystical things become a culture that is loved by the wider community.by using descriptive qualitative research to learn about community problem and find out the perception of KARMA.impresion as research material.the result of the study found that the KARMA show was very well liked by the people of east Kalianak Surabaya. This is due to several important element that is the center of public attention, namely the theme, story content, location conditions, studio, telent, resource. Persons and progam guides, ANTV big name and the progam show at curfew. KARMA reality show focus on element for the community and the audience.Keywords: Mass communication, reality show, perception.

Abstract

As time goes by, culture society has changes in generation from the past time to the present. So, each generation has their own habits and characteristics in it's time. "My Generation" movie is one of many films that representating social life in the current generation or so-called millenial generation. But this film was negatively received by audience. Because on the movie footage that presented by teaser and trailer watched by people on Youtube, many of them has opinion that is the movie was not in accordance with the Indonesian culture generally. And this movie became a bad influence for the teenagers who watch My Generation. This movie tells the story about four friends. Orly (Alexandra Kosasie), Suki (Lutesha), Konji (Arya Vasco), and Zeke (Bryan Warow). They're dare to express their anxiety to the parents, the teachers, and the school system. It was proven by their video which uploaded to the social media Youtube and then became viral at their school. Untill they're get punished for not going on vacation. The ordinary holiday, eventually bring them to the events and adventure that give a very meaningful lesson for their lives.Keywords: Pop Culture, Mileniall Generation, Life Style

Abstract

Plastic pollution has become a huge environmental problem, prompting some cities and countries to heavily tax or ban the plastics products (e.g bags, straws). The purpose of this research is to provide knowledge into the effectiveness of campaigns using plastic and plastic waste, and provide an overview of a new innovative waste management. In this paper, researcher are intended to introduce Masaro (Manajemen Sampah Zero), a CSR program at PT Polytama, as it would be an innovative and efficient waste management instead a massive campaign.Keywords: Plastic problems, Campaign, Waste management

Abstract

Instagram is one of the most popular social networking sites and is accessed every day by STIKOM InterStudi students. No wonder that almost everyone especially teenagers have Instagram accounts. Student confidence is open in the same characteristics so they can get along. Instagram is currently a social media that is on the rise with active users monthly reaching 1 billion users with an increase of around 200 million from 2017 and ranks fourth most used social media in Indonesia after YouTube. In this study a quantitativeapproach is used, basically the quantitative approach is carried out in inferential research and makes conclusions about the results of a probability of rejection of the null hypothesis null. Population is an object / subject area that has certain characteristics, the area to be 66 taken is InterStudi STIKOM students to draw their conclusions. The primary data used in this study was a questionnaire conducted by giving a set of questions or written statements to respondents to answer. Respondents can give answers in the range of positive to negative answers. Respondents who give an assessment number with number 9, mean respondent's perception of the leader was very positive, whereas if the give answered in number 5, itmeant neutral, and if the give answered in number 1, the respondent's perception of the leader was very negative. Abstract

Indonesia just finished the very first simultaneous election in history of this country, without doubt the people attention of this election is concentrated to president and the vice president election. And after long, exhausting, and complicated election process, including appeal from Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Salahudin Uno side on Constitutional Court of Indonesia. Once again, Joko Widodo and Ma’ruf Amin has choosen as president and the vice of president for 2019-2024 period of Indonesia. Prabowo’s side has been reported still hard to admit his third defeat on president election and refuse to congratulate Jokowi for his second win on election. But finally the two sides of candidates that just fight election met on Lebak Bulus MRT station and media call this meeting as “reconciliation”. This study analyse the point of view of online media towards this event, and how media construct this event on 3 popular Indonesia online media, detik.com, cnnindonesia.com and vivanews.com using Pan Kosiciki framming analysis model. And the result those 3 online media construct this event in balanced manner eventhough they have their unique style to deliver the news. Abstract

Nowadays, any kind of information can easily be found on social media platforms, one of them is through the platform of Instagram. On Instagram we can find further information of the RICMA organization that has been chosen as the main topic of this research. RICMA is a non-profit muslim organization that is family based. This research aims to be a medium between people and also persuasion is done with the use of the Instagram account @ricmaupdate to invite youth followers of the account to become a member of the organization. Thus, the research method was conducted with the use of quantitative method using the CMC theory (Computer Mediated Communication). The participants of this research are the @ricmaupdate 96 active followers on Instagram, supported with the purposive sampling technique as well as questionnaires as the data collection method. This research shows there is an influence from the messages from @ricmaupdate’s Instagram account on the interest of young adults that are becoming Islamic Youth of Cut Meutia Mosque. Keywords: Message; Instagram; Interest; Muslim Teenagers; Cut Meutie Mosque

Abstract

The phenomenon of flood disaster that flooded the city in Thailand for 40 days, the flood resulted in looses that not only property but also the increasing number of deaths every day. A traumatized state, director Poj Arnon made a flood film that almost entirely flooded the setting in Thailand (Love at First Flood 2012). This qualitative research by the semi-analytical method of Christian Metz or semiology analysis explains how the Love at First Flood film present dystopia and utopia repression that explains the reinforcement of messages that make up a meaning. The eight-step Metz mapping is used to unpack distinctive film structures, Through metaphorical masters and catharchic languages containing the repression of dystopia and utopia as a sign, the meaning expressed in the film’s messages is: (1) A support, (2) Awareness for mutual help, (3) Respects for fellow human beings.Keywords: Semiotics film; Flood; Dystopia and utopia representation.

Abstract

In the Adventure Film Catching Lightning there are several issues and concerns that want to be displayed through audio visual works. One example is about a mother (Beth) who strongly restrains her child and accentuates the feminism of the character of the mother (Beth) by prioritizing the perspective of the mother (Beth) in educating children, which is more prominent in the figure of the mother (Beth) than the father (Mahesa). In feminism itself, women really want to achieve gender equality, and from the observations in this film the perspective of the mother (Beth) is explored deeper, about how she thinks and behaves more prominent than some other adult male characters in the film this. A mother is generally very caring for children and wants to educate their children well, but many deviate from the goals of the mother herself which instead change from educating to obeying, and the figure of Mother (Beth) in this film tries to do that in which feminism here it is shown when Mother (Beth) collides with Father (Mahesa) or Grandfather where Mother (Beth) tries to keep arguing and does not want to obey just because they are Men or husband and tries to convey her mindset in educating children.
