Abstract

Typhoid fever is one of the main causes of death and morbidity in densely populated areas and unhygienic environments. The most common causative agent of typhoid fever in children is Salmonella typhii. Typhoid fever is enteric fever with main clinical symptoms such as abdominal pain and fever. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease caused by dengue viruses types I-IV with clinical manifestations of fever lasting 2-7 days accompanied by bleeding symptoms and if a shock occurs, the death rate is quite high. This case report is an 8 years old girl with complaints of fever accompanied by abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting and headache. On physical examination, it was found that the patient's general condition appeared to be moderately ill, composmentis consciousness, pulse 86 times/minute, respiratory rate 22 times/minute, temperature 36.5 °c, and the patient's SpO2 was found to be 98%. From the supporting examination, it was found that the tubex value increased by +4. The Dengue results showed Dengue IgG (+) and IgM (-).

Abstract

Background: “The highest prevalence of LBP at Awal Bros Hospital in Pekanbaru is estimated to be 0.70% or 3,238 people in 2022, 1.38% or 5,584 people in 2023, and 2,084 people or 1.11% in 2024. The impact of low back pain can make movement difficult, affect quality of life, and limit work activities and mental health. Method: The design of this research is quantitative research, with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used the consecutive formula and the sample size was 83 respondents. The data collection method uses a questionnaire. The data analysis used is univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using Somer's test. Results: Characteristics of the majority of respondents were women, 51 people (61.4%), 60 people aged > 35 years (72.3%), 54 people with a working period of > 5 years (65.1%), with BMI obesity amounted to 49 people (59.0%), amounted to 53 people (63.9%) who never did physical activity (exercise per week). The majority experienced moderate lower back pain, amounting to 34 respondents (41.0%), and had poor sleep quality, amounting to 51 respondents (61.4%). Based on the analysis test results, the d value was 0.482, meaning there was a moderate positive correlation with the p value (0.000 < 0.05), meaning there was a relationship between lower back pain and sleep quality in LBP patients at Awal Bros Hospital, Pekanbaru. Conclusion: There is a relationship between lower back pain and sleep quality. This shows that the higher the lower back pain, the worse the sleep quality.”

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition that often does not present clear visible symptoms, with blood pressure readings reaching 140/90 mmHg or higher. One non-pharmacological treatment method that can be considered to reduce hypertension is Benson relaxation therapy combined with Quranic recitation (murottal). This study aims to evaluate the effects of the combination of Benson relaxation therapy and Quranic recitation on blood pressure changes in hypertensive patients. The study design used a quasi-experimental quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest method without a control group. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, involving 21 hypertensive patients receiving treatment at the Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital. Wilcoxon test was used for data analysis. The results of the study showed that before the intervention, both systolic and diastolic blood pressure were in the stage 2 hypertension category, but after the intervention, blood pressure decreased to stage 1 hypertension. This indicates a significant change in blood pressure due to the combination of Benson relaxation therapy and Quranic recitation (p-value < 0.05).

Abstract

The incidence of stunting in toddlers is one of the global nutritional problems. Based on UNICEF data from 2010–2017, it shows that the prevalence of stunting in the world reached 28%, in Eastern and Southern Africa it was 40%, and in South Asia it was 38%. When compared with the "non-public health problem" limit according to WHO for stunting problems of 20%, almost all countries in the world experience public health problems. The aim of the research is to determine the relationship between knowledge and family income and the incidence of stunting among toddlers at the Rantau Selamat Community Health Center, East Aceh in 2024. This type of research is analytical observational research using a cross-sectional approach, the sample is some of the toddlers at the Rantau Selamat Community Health Center, East Aceh in 2024, a number of 61 respondents. Abstract

Stroke is one of the leading causes of long-term disability worldwide. Stroke survivors often experience severe disabilities, particularly in their ability to walk and perform daily physical activities independently. Many are unable to ambulate without assistance, even after reaching a certain level of independence. These persistent impairments contribute to a decreased quality of life and increase the risk of long-term complications. This study aims to determine the self-perceived difficulty in performing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) among ischemic stroke patients. The research employed a quantitative descriptive design and involved 25 ischemic stroke patients selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected at Banda General Hospital using the Barthel Index (BI) assessment tool to evaluate the patients' level of independence in carrying out daily activities, both before and after receiving physiotherapy. The results showed that, prior to physiotherapy, 10 respondents (40%) were in the category of severe dependency, requiring significant assistance to perform ADL. Following physiotherapy intervention, there was a decrease in the number of patients in the severe dependency category, indicating an improvement in functional independence. These findings suggest that physiotherapy plays an important role in supporting recovery and enhancing the ability of ischemic stroke patients to carry out daily activities. Patients’ self-perceived difficulties are also essential indicators in designing more personalized and effective rehabilitation programs.

The research method used is quantitative analysis with a cross-sectional research design. The number of samples was 140 nurses, selected using the Hair formula. The variables studied include organizational commitment, caring behavior, extrinsic reward, and nurse performance. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire measured with a 4-point Likert scale. The analysis tool used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the SEM-AMOS application. The results showed that organizational commitment and caring behavior had a significant effect on nurse performance, both directly and indirectly through extrinsic reward. Extrinsic reward has a greater influence than organizational commitment and caring behavior, extrinsic reward is proven to mediate the relationship between the two independent variables with nurse performance. This study provides important implications for hospital management to focus on developing organizational commitment, nurse caring, extrinsic rewards to improve nurse performance.
