Abstract

Mathematics achievement is a critical indicator of educational success and a key determinant for future STEM careers. However, national assessments in Indonesia reveal persistent challenges and significant learning gaps in student numeracy. Existing research has identified a multitude of influencing factors, yet predominantly relies on linear models (e.g., regression, SEM) that estimate the 'net effect' of each variable in isolation. This approach overlooks the complex causal configurations where different factors interact synergistically. This paper addresses this methodological gap by proposing a research design that employs fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fs/QCA). The study will utilize secondary data from the Indonesian National Assessment to analyze how combinations of school, family, and student-level conditions lead to high mathematics achievement. The expected contribution is the identification of multiple, distinct pathways-or 'causal recipes'-to success, offering a more nuanced foundation for developing targeted and context-specific educational policies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) in elementary schools and the extent to which its application supports the transformation of learning toward a deep learning approach. The Merdeka Curriculum is designed to create flexible, contextual, and student-centered learning, while deep learning emphasizes the development of deep understanding, critical thinking, and reflection. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach, using a questionnaire distributed to elementary school teachers via Google Form. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques in the form of percentages and mean achievement scores. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum is in the high category, with most teachers demonstrating the application of deep learning strategies in their teaching practices. Teachers with longer teaching experience tend to achieve higher scores in both aspects. These results suggest a positive relationship between teaching experience and teachers' readiness to transform learning. Therefore, continuous training and pedagogical mentoring should be enhanced, particularly for teachers with shorter work experience, to ensure the equitable and effective implementation of both the Merdeka Curriculum and deep learning.

Abstract

Islamic Cultural History (SKI) is a subject taught in Madrasahs to help students recognize, understand, and appreciate the values and legacy of Islamic civilization. However, in grade 9 at MTs Ma'arif Balong, student learning outcomes remain below expectations, with an average score of 65, which does not meet the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) of 72. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of origami-based learning media in improving students' learning outcomes in SKI. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design was employed, involving 54 students selected through cluster sampling. Data were collected through written tests and documentation, then analyzed using mean score comparison and the Mann-Whitney test with SPSS software. The results show a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The experimental group, which used origami as a learning aid, achieved a mean rank of 85.18, while the control group achieved 59.62. The statistical analysis produced a significance value of 0.000 < 0.050, indicating a positive effect of the origami media. These findings suggest that incorporating origami into classroom instruction enhances student engagement, comprehension, and overall academic performance in SKI. The study recommends that teachers develop skills in designing creative instructional media, including origami, and that Madrasahs provide adequate learning materials and a supportive environment. Furthermore, future research is encouraged to investigate the long-term impact of origami-based learning on students' knowledge retention and motivation.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PJBL) model in accounting subjects at SMK Negeri 1 Klaten, particularly in the XI AKL class. The background of this research is the need for innovative learning models that enhance students' understanding of accounting through real-world experiences. The purpose of the study is to describe the stages of PjBL implementation and identify the challenges faced by teachers and students. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings show that the PjBL model was applied by assigning students to complete accounting cycle projects based on data from local service-based MSMEs. The learning process involved project planning, data collection through field visits, group discussions, and the preparation of financial reports. The model improved students' collaboration, critical thinking, and engagement. However, several obstacles were identified, including students' varying academic abilities, limited prior knowledge of accounting, and issues in group task distribution. It is recommended that future implementation be accompanied by strengthened guidance, differentiated support, and structured evaluation to maximize learning outcomes and prepare students for the professional world.

Abstract

The advancement of digital learning in government institutions calls for assessment models that go beyond summative testing and foster self-regulated learning. These preliminary needs analysis investigates the perceptions and learning needs of employees at the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) regarding the development of a reflective journal as an assessment-as-learning feature within the LMS IDEAS. Using a quantitative approach, the study involved 85 active LMS users who responded to an online questionnaire. The results indicate that while current assessments such as pre- and post-tests are perceived as clear and relevant, they are considered insufficient in promoting key aspects of self-regulated learning- namely self-monitoring, evaluation, and adaptation. Respondents expressed strong needs for additional features such as personalized feedback, structured reflection tools, and mechanisms that connect learning with workplace practices. These findings suggest that integrating a reflective journal with guided prompts and flexible formats into the LMS has the potential to enhance autonomous learning and support continuous professional development among civil servants.

Abstract

The present research explores the efforts of Indonesian schools to respond to the realities of inclusive education. Based on a qualitative case study design, data were drawn from interviews, observations, and document analysis in urban, suburban, and rural contexts. The study establishes inclusive education policies, but their operationalization within the schools is a significant issue. Accessibility provisions such as ramps and adjustable classrooms are found to be desirable. In many locations, inadequate teacher preparation often obstructs the effective implementation of assistive technologies. Moreover, most buildings are poorly maintained and experience a rapid quality decline. Teachers tend to acquire inclusive practice through experience and not formal training programs. Although parental involvement is increasing in urban settings, it remains shallow in rural settings. In some areas, schools are forced to get along with the hardships of inclusion on their own, frequently without much assistance from neighboring authorities. Lastly, this study stresses that real inclusion requires effort beyond the simple enactment of policies; it requires ongoing effort in teacher professionalization, well-thought-out infrastructure, more active community participation, and adaptive governance structures. The findings of this study provide valuable lessons on crafting more inclusive and supportive learning environments in Indonesia and elsewher.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of identifying, describing, and analyzing findings from various studies discussing the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in impoving students mathematical connection skills. The method used was a systematic Literatur Review (SLR), which allowed researchers to comprehensively examine various relevant primary literatur. The data collection Process was carried out through the stages of selecting scientific articles based on predetermined inclusion criteria, and a total of 18 articles were declared eligible for further analysis. The selected articles were classified based on educational level, methodological approach, and the impact of PBL implementation on students' mathematical connection skills. The research findings showed that the implementation of the PBL model consistently had a positive influence on improving mathematical connection skills, especially in junior high school students. In addition, a quantitative approach with experimental and quasi-experimental designs was the most widely used method in measuring the effectiveness of the PBL model. These results indicate that PBL is a potential pedagogical approach in supporting the development of students' mathematical connection skills at various educational level.

Abstract

Teachers in fiqh education, in particular, still use a teacher-centered approach, where the teacher is the main figure in the teaching process. With this method, they rely solely on lectures and memorization as the dominant techniques. Several madrasah ibtidaiyyah teachers indicated that 72% of teachers only emphasize the cognitive aspect without involving deep meaning or value reflection. The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach with library research. Secondary data was obtained from various valid and relevant scientific literature, such as books on Islamic education theory, pedagogy, and reputable journal articles related to deep learning, fiqh education, and humanistic education. Data collection techniques involved identifying literature sources based on their relevance to the topic of fiqh education, while data analysis techniques used the Miles and Huberman method, which involves three stages: data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that fiqh education through the deep learning approach emphasizes education that humanizes humanity. Through a deep learning approach, Islamic law is conveyed in a dialogical, inclusive, and tolerant manner, in accordance with the values of maqasid al-syari'ah and rahmatan lil-'alamin. Thus, the integration of deep learning in fiqh education can create a humanistic and relevant learning experience in the digital age. As the urgent need for fiqh education is to build an adaptive, critical, and humanistic Islamic education rooted in humanitarian values. Through this strategy, fiqh is not merely a subject to be memorized but also a source of ethics, spirituality, and policy that is alive in today's digital reality.

Abstract

This study is to describe the implementation, obstacles, and impact of the Teaching Campus Program in improving the teaching skills of students of the Accounting Education Study Program, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The research with a case study research design was carried out through interview and documentation data collection techniques involving Field Supervisors and programparticipant students. Theresults of the study show that the implementation of the Teaching Campus Program is carried out in one semester through three stages, namely the preparation, assignment, and post-assignment period. Activities began with debriefing, observation, coordination, planning, and the implementation of programs in target schools. The problems encountered are the limitations of monitoring by DPL due to distance and schedule density, dificulties for students to manage time between programs and lectures, limited infrastructure facilities at school, and dificulties in creating interesting learning for students. The positive impact obtained by students includes improving teaching skills, time management, social empathy, creativity, innovation, problem-solving skills, leadership, and other soft skills. In addition, this program also encourages students' professionalism and confidence, while providing real experience in the world of education. Regular evaluations every two weeks play an important role in monitoring program implementation and overcoming obstacles that arise. Therefore, the Teaching Campus Program makes a significant contribution to the development of pedagogic and professional competencies of prospective educator students.

Abstract

This study aims to map the development of learning autonomy research in economic learning through bibliometric analysis of Scopus-indexed publications for 2005–2025. The method used is bibliometric, with the stages of identification, selection, and document analysis using the Biblioshiny R application. From 17,104 initial publications, 30 selected relevant documents were analyzed in depth. The novelty of this study lies in the systematic mapping of trends, collaboration patterns, and thematic dynamics of learning autonomy research that has not previously been explored quantitatively in economics. The main findings show an annual publication growth of 5.65%, with dominant contributions from authors and institutions in China, especially Hunan University and author Chen L. The primary focus of the research remains on the issues of "autonomous learning", "learning autonomy", and "learner autonomy". However, integrating new topics, such as artificial intelligence, blended learning, and soft skills development, has begun to stand out since 2018. International collaboration has begun to develop, but its intensity is still low, and contributions from other countries are still limited. The main recommendation is to increase international and multidisciplinary collaboration and expand contributions from institutions and countries outside China. Future research is suggested to further integrate digital technologies and soft skills in the context of learning autonomy.
