Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a disease that can not be cured. A balanced diet is one of way in management of Diabetes Mellitus. Constraint of Diabetes Mellitus diet handling is burnout of patients to follow dietary therapy and lack of family support, if there is no family support, Diabetes Mellitus patients will not obey implement diet, so uncontrolled Diabetes Mellitus and complications occur. The research objective to analyzes of family support improve patient compliance of Diabetes Mellitus diet. The design of the research was Cross-sectional with population Diabetes Mellitus patients in inpatient ward of Kediri Baptist Hospital who met the inclusion criteria. The sample of the research was 25 people with accidental sampling. The data of the research was analyzed using "Wilcoxon Macth Pair". The results showed that family support can improve dietary compliance  in Diabetes Mellitus patients in inpatient ward of Kediri Baptist Hospital based on significant level a≤0.05 obtained ρ=0.00 and ρ≤a. In conclusion family support can improve dietary compliance in patients with Diabetes Mellitus in inpatient ward of Kediri Baptist Hospital.

Abstract

Abdominal muscle contraction that occurs continuously as blood discharge during menstruation will cause pain (dysmenorrhoea). Giving warm compress will be dilates blood vessels and increase local blood flow which resulting relaxation and can reduce pain. The purpose of research was to analyze warm compress as an effort to decrease dysmenorrhoea’s pain intensity. The design of this research was pre-experimental one group pre-post test design. The population was 4th grade students of STIKES RS. Baptis Kediri who experienced Dysmenorrhoea that met inclusion criteria. The samples were 30 respondents. The data were analyzed using Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test with significant level α ≤ 0.05. The results showed 16 respondents (53.3%) experienced severe pain and 14 respondents (46,7%) experienced moderate pain before given warm compress. After given warm compress, 19 respondents (63.3%) experienced mild pain and 11 responden (36,7%) experienced moderate pain. The conclusion is warm compresses can reduce the intensity of severe pain to mild pain in dysmenorrhoea women.

Abstract

Phlebitis incident is a reflection of the character of health care. The sign of phlebitis include an increase of skin temperature on the veins, pain, and some cases of redness in the site of insertion or along the vein line. The purpose of this research to study the   phlebitis caused. The design used was cross sectional. Population of this research  was all patients hospitalized at inpatient ward Kediri Baptist Hospital and all the nurses who provided medication through an intravenous tube at Kediri Baptist Hospital. The sample used was purposive sampling and the number of respondents was 23 people. The independent variable in this research was intravenous medicine application and aseptic techniques. The dependent variable was phlebitis. The data collection used in this research was observation sheet (checklist). The results 100% of nurses gave intravenous medicine with inappropriate speed, 74% of nurses do inappropriate in washing hands, 100% of respondents did not experience phlebitis. Conclusion of this research is medicine administering factor throughout intravenous tube had no effect on phlebitis, there is no dominant caused factor of phlebitis in this research.

Abstract

Food complement of breast milk is food that contain nutrient, giving to child in age 6–36 months to complete nutrient requirement. Giving that food is precisely influenced by mother’s behavior who have baby. The objective of the research to prove the factors that influence mother’s behavior in giving food complement breast milk to child in age 6–36 months.The design of the research was correlation. The population was all mother who have children in age 6–36 months at Posyandu Mawar I Karangrejo village. The samples were 32 respondents using random sampling. The independent variable was the factors that influence of mother’s behavior. The dependent variable was giving food complement of breast milk. The data was collected using questionnaire and interview, and then analyzed using multiple logistic regression with significance level 0,025. The result of statistical test showed mother’s knowledge p=0,020, it mean  influence mother’s behavior in giving food complement of breast milk. The conclusion of this research that the occupation factor and social economy had no influence mother’s behavior in giving food complement of breast milk, but mother’s knowledge had influence mother’s behavior in giving food complement of breast milk at Posyandu Mawar I Karangrejo village.

Abstract

Everyone has experienced stress and become motivated to do coping mechanism. The purpose of this study to analyze the relationship between stress and coping mechanisms of the menstrual cycle disorders. The design used was cross sectional. The populations were grade IV  student at STIKES RS Baptis Kediri. The samples were 35 respondents using purposive sampling. The independent variable was coping mechanism. The dependent variable was level of stress towards period disorders. Data  were collected through questionnaires and observation. The analysis using "logistic regression" tests with significance level a ≤ 0.05 the result P=0.767 it means between levels of stress and coping mechanisms are not related, for the stress levels with menstrual cycle disorders obtained P=0.018 there is a relationship the level of stress and menstrual cycle disorders. The conclusion, the coping mechanisms not related to the level of stress but the stress levels related to menstrual cycle disorders for student grade IV at STIKES RS. Baptis Kediri.

Abstract

Adolescent community their tends to abuse alcohol. The objective of this research describing the stage of alcohol abuse based on type of personality to adolescents. The research design was descriptive. The population was all adolescents in the. Scooter Community Bangkit in Kediri. The samples were 30 respondents quota sampling. The variables were the stage of alcohol abuse and type of personality. The was collected using questionnaire and  analyzed using Frequency Distribution. The results showed that the adolescents of scooter community majority (100%)  alcohol abuse happened on the stage of social and recreational (33.3%) and experimental stage (23.3%). Meanwhile the type of personality that supported the stage of alcohol abuse phlegmatic type (36.7%) and melancholic type (26.7%). It could be concluded  adolescent of Scooter  majority on the stage of alcohol abuse was on the of social and recreational. Meanwhile phlegmatic and melancholic types dominant against alcohol abuse.

Abstract

Mothers will experience anxiety when a baby has a critical health condition and should be treated in intensive care. The purpose of this study to analyze the effect of therapeutic communication in decreasing mothers anxiety levels with infant in high-risk perinatal. The research design was pre-experimental one group pre-post test design. Population is mothers with babies who were treated in a high-risk perinatal, as many as  20 respondents, samples were taken with a total sampling method for a month, data taken through a structured interview. Given intervention is therapeutic communication with the variable being measured maternal anxiety. Analyst with the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test with α£0.05. The results showed maternal anxiety levels before treatment were 50% and 65% after light treatment, and the results of statistical test obtained p = 0.001 which showed there is significant effect of giving therapeutic communication in reducing maternal anxiety. It was concluded that giving therapeutic communication by nurses can reduce the level of mothers anxiety with babies in intensive care.

Abstract

One of the factors that cause diarrhea in children under five years old is contaminated food and generally it is because the poor personal hygiene in food processing  performed by caregivers of child under five years old, especially mother. The purpose of this study to analyze the corelation between individual hygiene patern and the frequency of diarrhea incident to children under five years old in pediatric ward of Kediri Baptist Hospital. The design of this study was correlation analytic. The respondents in this study were mothers who had child under five years old who had suffered from diarrhea. The numbers of sample were 34 respondents with purposive sampling method. The independent variable was personal hygiene pattern and the dependent variable was frequency of diarrhea incident. The data was collected by quetionare and then analized using Spearman’s Rho with significance level α < 0, 05 and diarrhea incidents frequencies by interviewing the mother. The results showed p = 0.000 with a correlation coefficient of -0.882, The conclusion is poor personal hygiene of mother will increase the incidence of diarrhea in children under five years old.
