Abstract

The research aims to show a child's obligation to respect their parents according to Ephesians 6: 2. This research is based on the argument that parents are God's representatives towards their children regarding His authority and His love. This research shows that when children respect their parents, it means they heed and acknowledge the authority that God has given to their parents, and the child is obliged not only to obey but also love and respect their parents. So because the authority of parents over children is God's authority that God delegated to them, then in the life of the Israelites who received God's promises, children's obedience to parents was given such importance as is seen in the Bible. This research uses the exegesis method to produce interpretations and construct them in the form of principles of children's obligations to their parents.

Youth is one of the backbone of the church today. Sustainability of Christian youth generation who fear God and love Him is something that should be struggled. St. Paul, the apostle of nations, is an apostle who cares for young generation. His proximity and mentoring method for Timothy prove it. Through his letters both personal to Timothy and Titus, as well as in the letters to the churches, he gives a lot of advices to be considered by the Christian youth today. This paper raises the letters of St. Paul as a source of Paul’s theology in relation to young man. Abstract

This study aims to look at the picture of the struggles of families who have children with special needs, especially the disabled. On the other hand, we also want to see how far the church's pastoral assistance is for families who have children with physical disabilities. The research method used in this research is a qualitative approach. While data collection is done through observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of research and data analysis, families still do not fully and deeply understand disabled persons, their characteristics and the accompanying impacts. Thus, families are often not ready to deal with the emotions of children with physical disabilities. Pastoral assistance from the church has not touched the struggles that are being experienced by families.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the meaning of Christian freedom based on Galatians 5:1-4. This study uses the exegesis method to find out the meaning of freedom in the text of Galatians 5: 1-4. from the exegesis it is obtained that People who have been freed by Christ from the Torah Law should not be slaves anymore to the inducements of others. That would mean wasting God's grace and salvation (5:1). But Christian freedom must not be misunderstood, as if it were possible to live without restraints (5:13). Because Christian freedom is freedom to practice love which concludes all the Torah Law which is a guideline for life is still valid (5:14-15). The gift of the Holy Spirit requires a way of living according to the Spirit, so that His fruit becomes visible (15:16-26). The principle of living according to the Spirit can be concluded in loving others in a real way as the implementation of the Law of Christ (6:1-3). God certainly cannot be mocked (6:4-8). He demands that believers practice love (6:9-10) . Here it is known that when the Son of God came to earth and was willing to suffer and even die on the cross in order to save mankind from the slavery of sin. Because the first man fell into sin and sin never broke or stopped, but continued to stick to the human person.
