Abstract

Religious character education plays a crucial role in shaping the personality, morality, and spirituality of students from an early age. One of its practical implementations in elementary schools is the Dhuha prayer habituation program, which serves as a medium for instilling discipline, responsibility, and spiritual awareness. This study aims to analyze the role of parent–teacher collaboration in implementing Dhuha prayer habituation to strengthen the religious character of second-grade elementary school students. The study used a descriptive approach involving 30 students, 6 teachers, and 30 parents as participants. Data were collected through prayer activity observations, participation questionnaires, and in-depth interviews, then analyzed using descriptive quantitative and thematic qualitative techniques. The findings reveal that effective collaboration between parents and teachers—reflected through intensive communication, spiritual guidance, and consistent habituation at home and school—positively influences students’ discipline, responsibility, and religious awareness. The study emphasizes that sustainable synergy between families and schools is a key factor in the success of religious character education in elementary education.

Abstract

The leadership of a madrasah principal plays an important role in determining the direction and character of Islamic educational institutions. In a Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, the principal not only serves as an administrator but also as a role model in cultivating religious values. This study aims to understand how the principal's transformational leadership is implemented in building a religious culture at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Fathul Huda Pucung, Tulungagung Regency. The research uses a qualitative case-study design, with data collected from the principal, teachers, educational staff, and students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and were then analyzed descriptively to identify patterns and meanings in the leadership practices observed in the field. The results of the study show that the principal, Mrs. SK, applies transformational leadership through role modeling, inspirational communication, and empowering teachers and students in religious activities. Religious values in the madrasah develop through routine activities such as congregational prayers, Qur’an recitation, and the consistent practice of courteous behavior. Leadership that emphasizes exemplary conduct and a spirit of togetherness has proven effective in fostering a vibrant religious culture that is embraced by all members of the madrasah community. The study concludes that transformational leadership is the key to shaping an educational environment that excels not only academically but also possesses strong religious character and spiritual meaning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze elementary school students’ mathematical numeracy literacy skills based on real-life contexts. Numeracy literacy is a fundamental competence that enables students to understand, use, and interpret mathematical concepts in daily situations. This research employed a quantitative descriptive approach. The study was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta darud Dakwah Wal Irsyad Baru Baru Tanga, Pangkajene and Islands Regency, during August–September 2025. The research subjects were elementary school students selected purposively. Data were collected using a numeracy literacy test designed with daily life contexts, covering number operations, measurement, data interpretation, and simple problem-solving. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics, including mean scores and percentage achievement levels. The results revealed that students’ numeracy literacy skills were generally in the moderate category. Students showed adequate ability in performing basic calculations; however, difficulties were found in understanding contextual problems, selecting appropriate strategies, and interpreting mathematical results within real-life situations. These findings indicate that mathematics learning at the elementary level still tends to emphasize procedural skills rather than contextual understanding. Therefore, strengthening contextual-based mathematics instruction is essential to improve students’ numeracy literacy skills and their ability to apply mathematics meaningfully in everyday life.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of coding and artificial intelligence (AI) in the curriculum at SD ICT (Sekolah Dasar Information and Communication Technology)  Zainal Abidin, an elementary school in Indonesia. With the growing demand for digital literacy and technology-based competencies in the 21st century, this research aims to explore how coding and AI are integrated into the curriculum, the opportunities they offer for enhancing students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the challenges encountered during implementation. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 5 teachers and 2 school administrators, classroom observations, and analysis of curriculum documents. The interviews focused on participants' perspectives regarding the integration process, benefits, and challenges of teaching coding and AI. The collected data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key themes related to the integration of these subjects. The findings suggest that integrating coding and AI into the curriculum provides valuable opportunities for students to develop computational thinking, creativity, and a deeper understanding of technology. However, the research also identifies several challenges, including insufficient teacher training, limited infrastructure, and alignment issues with the national educational framework. The study highlights the importance of professional development for teachers, better resource allocation, and curriculum adjustments to ensure the sustainable integration of coding and AI in primary education. Recommendations are made for educators and policymakers to enhance the effectiveness of this integration to prepare students for a digital future better.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of madrasah head leadership on teacher performance and its implications on the quality of learning in Private Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, Jalaksana District, Kuningan Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. Data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire to 92 selected teachers using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data analysis used simple linear regression and multiple regression with the help of SPSS, as well as classical assumption tests to ensure the feasibility of the research model. The results of the study show that the leadership of madrasah heads has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, as well as a significant effect on the quality of learning. In addition, teacher performance has been proven to play a role as a partial mediation variable in strengthening the influence of madrasah head leadership on learning quality. The value of the determination coefficient (R²) of 0.682 shows that 68.2% of the variation in learning quality can be explained by the leadership of the madrasah head and the teacher's performance. These findings confirm that improving the quality of learning cannot be separated from the strategic leadership role of madrasah heads who work through improving teacher performance. Conceptually, educational leadership serves as a transformational factor in building an effective learning ecosystem. The implications of this study show the importance of strengthening the leadership of madrasah heads based on managerial and Islamic education values to improve the quality of basic education in a sustainable manner.
