Abstract

Patients with a long duration of bed rest have a potential risk of impaired skin integrity due to prolonged pressure that can lead to the appearance of decubitus. One alternative to prevent decubitus is by giving mobilization over the bed that is tilt right and left every 2 hours with an angle of 30° with a foam pillow as a buffer in bed. This study aims to design a right and left tilt body support pillow as an effort to prevent and reduce the risk of decubitus ulcers in bed rest patients. The method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D) with ADDIE method which consists of five stages which include analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. This study was conducted at Mitra Medika Clinic in Blitar Regency with 6 participants and 3 media experts. The results of this study show that the value of product feasibility from expert validators is 98% and from participants is 99%. The results showed the product has met the criteria very feasible based on the assessment of the participants. It is expected that this product can help nurses in maintaining the right and left tilt position as an effort to prevent and reduce the risk of decubitus ulcers in bed rest patients. Keywords: Pressure Ulcer, Body Support Pillow, Design

Abstract

Elderly people who experience sleep disorders are at risk of various health problems, including hypertension. To treat insomnia comprehensively, an approach that not only relies on medication is needed, but also complementary therapies, one of which is brainwave music therapy. This music therapy can stimulate the brain to follow the vibrations and rhythms of music when individuals are in a resting state, so as to bring them into a relaxed state and make it easier to fall asleep. This study aims to analyse the effect of brainwave music therapy on the level of insomnia in elderly hypertension. The research design used a descriptive case study approach involving two hypertensive elderly subjects who experienced sleep disorders. Music therapy was performed six times with a duration of 10-15 minutes. Data were collected through insomnia scale and observation. The results showed a decrease in the level of insomnia in both subjects after undergoing brainwave music therapy. Subjects who initially experienced severe insomnia decreased to mild insomnia. This indicates that brainwave music therapy has the potential to be an effective non-pharmacological intervention in reducing insomnia symptoms in hypertensive elderly

Abstract

MAP (Mean Arterial Pressure) is the average arterial pressure required for blood circulation to the brain. In trepanation post op patients, MAP is an indicator of postoperative prognosis. This MAP is influenced by several physiological factors, namely heart rate, hematocrit and age. This study aims to determine and explain the effect of these three factors on MAP (Mean Arterial Pressure) in post-op trepanation patients at the Intensive Care Installation of Mardi Waluyo General Hospital, Blitar City. The design of this study is Cross-Sectional. Source of data used is secondary data. Data collection is done by observation method. The research sample was all medical records of trepanation post-op patients at the Intensive Care Installation of Mardi Waluyo Hospital, Blitar City who were treated from January to  December 2022 who met the inclusion criteria, totaling 42 respondents. Data analysis using binary regression with a significance degree of p value less than 0,05 (p<0.05). The results showed that the Nagelkerke R Square (Model Summary) value was 0.314. This shows that the contribution or influence of physiological factors (heart rate, hematocrit, age) on MAP is 31.4%, while the remaining 68.6% is determined by other variables that are not taken into account in this research model. It is suggested to health service providers, especially nurses, to further improve their ability to analyze critical values of patients to prevent worsening of the prognosis.

Abstract

abstractFamily support in reminding sufferers to take ARV medication can influence their medication compliance. Sufferers can despair if there is no family support and this can have bad consequences. The aim of the research was to explore the perceptions of HIV/AIDS sufferers with pulmonary TB regarding family support in taking ARV oat medication. The research design is qualitative using a phenomenological study. Samples based on criteria for treatment, living with family and willing to be respondents. The research sample used a total population of 3 respondents. The results of the interviews showed support for the assessment, all respondents felt that they were well received by their families and that the family had an important role in getting well, thereby motivating them to receive regular treatment. Instrumental support: All respondents said that medical needs were met by the family and it was not uncommon for sufferers to be invited to go on recreation. Informational support, some families do not know enough about providing health information and the family has explained the importance of taking medication. Emotional support, respondents said they felt disappointed and a burden when the family understood about illnesses that could be contagious. Overall family support in assessment, instrumental, informational and emotional is good but can be improved regarding providing health information and maintaining motivation to take medication.

Abstract

Atrial fibrillation is a typical supraventricular tachyarrhythmia, with undirected atrial activation resulting in a decrease in atrial mechanical function. Objective: To identify an overview of the case study of nursing care for patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) in the Seruni ICU at Mardi Waluyo Hospital. Method: This research uses a case study design specifically designed to study in detail and in depth about a case and includes various sources of information. Results: The main nursing diagnoses that emerged in 2 managed patients were decreased cardiac output and activity intolerance. The interventions prescribed for patients with atrial fibrillation are in accordance with previously existing diagnoses and theories. The implementation carried out in patients with atrial fibrillation is in accordance with previously established interventions and adapted to the patient's condition and situation. Conclusion: The condition improved in case 1, and the problem was resolved, but in case 2 the problem was not resolved; the patient died.
