It extends its coverage to neighboring regions, including the tropical areas of Northern Australia, providing insights into the plant life of these biologically diverse areas. Abstract

This Supplement to the author's monograph "The genus Carex in Malaysia"enumerates several additional collections. Moreover, a revised description of Carex pycnothyrsos Kukenth. is given, while C. teinogyna Boott, C. formosensis Lev. & Van. (?), and C. gajonum Nelmes, three species not dealt with in the main work, are fully treated.

Abstract

MULYANINGSIH, TRI. & RIDSDALE, C. E. 2002. The Bornean genus Hypobathrum (Rubiaceae). An investigation of its characters and taxonomic status. Reinwardtia 12(1): 95–116.The investigation on the characters and taxonomic status of the Bornean genus Hypobathrum was based on morphological observations of 140 specimens in Herbarium Borgoriense. The present study shows that there are 24 species that can be recognised. There are six species already placed in the genus (H. frutescens, H. longifolium, H. microcarpum, H. racemosum, H. salicinum and H. venulosum), three species require new combinations (H. coniocarpum, H. gracile, and H. rufidulum), one species requires a new combination and a new status (H. hirtum), a new name in Hypobathrum is required for one species (H. lancifolium). In the present study twelve new species are proposed (H. bangueyense, H. caudifolium, H. collinum, H. ellipticifolium, H. glaberrimum, H. glabrum, H. lithophilum, H. palustre, H. rheophyticum, H. riparium, H. sampitense, and H. subulatum). In addition, one incompletely known species is mentioned.

Abstract

MUZAKKI, F. A., CHIKMAWATI, T. &  HARTANA, A. 2020. The resurrection of Schizostachyum biflorum McClure (Bambusoideae). Reinwardtia 19(2): 93‒96. ‒‒ Based on newly collected specimens from Mount Salak referable to Schizostachyum biflorum, made it justifiable to recognize this species as different from S. iraten Steud., to which formerly it was synonymized. A complete description of S. biflorum, a comparative tabulation of the morphological features that distinguished it from S. iraten, and figures of the two species are presented.

Abstract

Freycinetia tidorensis A.P. Keim is newly described from Tidore Island, Moluccas. This  new species is morphologically similar to F.  devriesei Solms  but differs in the number of stigmatic remains.  In F. devriesei the number is 3 to 6, never less than 3; whereas in Freycinetia tidorensis 1 to 2, never more than 2.

Abstract

Twelve new species of Hibiscus sect. Azanza DC. from the Malaysian region are described and illustrated. The genus Wilhelminia Hochr. is reduced to a synonym of this section, which requires the new combination Hisbiscus sciadiolepidns (Hochr.) Borss. for W. sciadiolepida Hochr. the only species of the genus.

Abstract

WONG, K. M. & MAHYUNI, R. 2018. Flora of Singapore Precursors, 2. A new species and two new combinations in Psydrax (Rubiaceae: Vanguerieae) for West Malesia. Reinwardtia 17(1): 77–84. — Studies in Psydrax Gaertn. for the Flora of Singapore and the Malesian floristic region have revealed that three taxa required the description of a new species and two new combinations. Psydrax undulatifolius K.M.Wong & Mahyuni is newly described as a species thus far recorded only for the Malay Peninsula, whereas Psydrax approximatus (Korth.) Mahyuni & K.M.Wong and Psydrax lucidulus (Miq.) Mahyuni & K.M.Wong are newly combined from Canthium approximatum Korth. and Vangueria lucidula Miq., both distributed in Sumatra, the Malay Peninsula and Borneo.
