Abstract

The effect of combination of Physalis angulata leaf and Cassia angustifolia leaf extract as green inhibitor with a 50:50 ratio for API 5L steel was investigated. This experiment was carried in 1M HCl solution by using different concentrations as variables which is 10 ml, 30 ml, and 50 ml inhibitor extracts. Evaluation of this experiment was performed using potentiodynamic polarization and EIS. The antioxidant compound was investigated using FTIR and was found to be flavonoid. It was found that the capability of the inhibitor to inhibit the steel surface from the environment increases with increasing concentration, which 50 ml concentration is found to have the best efficiency of all concentrations. Combination of Physalis angulata leaf and Cassia angustifolia leaf extract is identified as mixed-type inhibitor with predominant cathodic effectiveness. The adsorption of this inhibitor on the steel surface was predominantly through physisorption and obeyed Langmuir adsorption isotherm.

Abstract

The Liugong type 856H Wheel Loader unit was donated by PT. Liugong Machinery to Liuzhou Vocational and Technical College (LVTC) as part of a collaborative effort to support teaching and learning activities at LVTC. During practical use, this Wheel Loader unit experienced engine overheating. The aim of troubleshooting the engine overheating issue was to identify the root cause of the problem. This research was conducted using direct observation methods, specifically employing a 7-step troubleshooting approach. The research findings indicate that the engine overheating in the Liugong type 856H Wheel Loader unit was caused by a malfunctioning thermostat component. According to specifications, the thermostat should begin to open at a temperature of 78°C and fully open at 92°C. However, upon inspection, the thermostat did not open until the temperature reached 90°C. This prevented coolant from flowing to the radiator for cooling. As a result, the hot coolant continued to circulate within the engine, leading to engine overheating. The corrective action taken was to replace the faulty component.

Abstract

The need to show the geometry of a workpiece of a component or system on a certain scale and three-dimensionality can be realized through a three-dimensional printing press. This paper explains the techniques and how to design a three-dimensional printing machine and test product printing. The three-dimensional printing machine has been successfully created and built, and the printing test shows the results corresponding to the machine's specifications. The design and fabrication of printer 3D printing machine for PLA filament thermoplastic material has been successfully done. This machine implements an Arduino Mega 2560 R3 CH340G-based control system. The specifications of the 3D printing machine are as follows: Layer height = 0.2 [mm]; Infill density = 20%; Maximum Printing temperature = 240°C; Build plate temperature = 60°C; Print speed = 60 [mm/s]. The input comes from an AC power source that is converted to DC with an Input Power supply of 12 Volt 20 A. The machine has been tested, and parts with geometry are produced according to the machine's specifications.

Abstract

: A Fe-35Mn-1C alloy with a foam structure, incorporating 5% potassium carbonate (K2CO3), was successfully synthesized, demonstrating an austenite phase and an acceptable degradation rate for an implant candidate. However, excessive carbon content led to the formation of a graphite phase and increasing hardness. To address this, variations in lower carbon composition (0% and 0.5%) were explored to enhance mechanical properties and achieve a fully austenite phase with non-magnetic properties. Mechanical alloying of the powder materials was performed using the rotary mixing method and was followed by sintering process in argon atmopher. The sintered samples underwent comprehensive characterization, including physical, chemical, mechanical properties, and degradation behavior. The Fe-Mn-C biomaterial exhibited an austenite and manganese oxide phase with a favorable degradation rate. This study showed K2CO3 is not only as a foaming agent but also could contribute to carbon alloying into the Fe-Mn alloy system.
