Abstract

This research was motivated by the presence of migrants in Padang Jering Village, Sarolagun who demanded that they communicate with local residents. This article will explain the socio-cultural background that influences people's communication practices, and barriers to intercultural communication between local residents and immigrants in Padang Jering Village, as well as finding solutions to these communication barriers. Using qualitative research methods with the type of field research, the study conducted observations and interviews with informants in mid-2020. This study found that cultural elements that influence such as language, religious systems and knowledge. Barriers to intercultural communication between local residents and immigrants are semantic and language barriers. The first attempt to prevent intercultural communication barriers between local residents and immigrants in Padang Jering Village was to use language such as a smile to stay in touch. Second, by using the help of others to become intermediaries to communicate with local residents, including teaching the local language. Third, by using Indonesian when they want to communicate. Researchers reference mutual understanding in culture and other things that have differences, and tolerance in order to communicate smoothly and can avoid barriers to intercultural communication.

Abstract

The application of journalistic language in the news media is a must. Good news is news that uses simple language and is easily accepted by readers' logic. However, not all parties involved in news production understand the importance of using journalistic language in news writing in the mass media, including journalists and editors at MetroJambi.com where the research was conducted. As the best online media in 2016 in Jambi, MetroJambi.com still contains language errors in its news. The purposes of this study are (1) to find out the profile and background of the birth of the metrojambi.com news portal (2) to examine the use of journalistic language on the metrojambi.com news portal (3) to examine the efforts made by Metrojambi.com in overcoming the errors in the use of journalistic language in the media. the. The research method that the author uses is qualitative with a news content study approach. The data collection technique was carried out in two ways, first by interviewing the editor of Metrojambi.com, the General Manager of metrojambi.com, and the Head of the Jambi Language Office, as well as three Extension Officers of the Jambi Language Office. Second, collecting news from 01 September 2019 to 09 September 2019 which is then analyzed and described in this study. As a result, the researchers found that: first, Metrojambi.com came from the Metro Jambi print media, secondly, there were 7 errors in the use of journalistic language in news writing on Metrojambi.com from September 01, 2019 to September 09, 2019. This seems to make Metrojambi.com no longer entered in the best media category in Jambi Province in 2019, the three editors and general manager of Metrojambi.com provided training to journalists on reporting and writing, always involving journalists in training and counseling activities organized by the AJI organization, Jambi Language Office and all related to the activities of journalists, as well as the editors of Metrojambi.com also conduct more thorough research than before, in order to minimize writing errors in the news. The study recommends Metrojambi.com to pay attention to the use of journalistic language in published news, as well as to provide journalists with an understanding of the procedures for writing news that are in accordance with good and correct journalistic language.

Abstract

This research is motivated by a phenomenon that occurs in the field of Public Relations (HUMAS) of the Republic of Indonesia Television Public Broadcasting Institution (LPP TVRI) Jambi. A strategy is needed by TVRI Jambi as times change where the interest of television viewers is decreasing due to competition from both private television and new media. The audience follows a style that has value. Therefore it is necessary to have a Public Relations in order to expand public knowledge about what programs exist at TVRI in order to increase the existence of TVRI Jambi. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection methods used in the form of observation, documentation, and interviews with data analysis techniques, namely data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of this study the authors found that the Public Relations Strategy in promoting TVRI Jambi programs to improve the quality of TVRI programs in the eyes of the public to better understand and know broadcasts on TVRI Jambi therefore Public Relations itself uses a communication strategy Public relations strategy, communication, advertising , sales promotion, publicity , corporate design The problems of Public Relations in promoting LPP TVRI programs in Jambi, weak human resources, PR efforts in promoting LPP TVRI Jambi programs in collaborating with other agencies.

Abstract

The image of the agency is an important thing because it can make an agency good or even bad. One Stop Integrated Service (PTSP) Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of Jambi Province is one of the drivers to get a good image in the community. This study aims to determine the effect of excellent service at PTSP on the image of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of Jambi Province. This research is a qualitative research with data collection through interviews with the research subjects, namely the person in charge of PTSP, PTSP officers, employees of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of Jambi Province. The results showed that: in improving the image of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of Jambi Province, PTSP provided excellent services such as providing satisfaction to customers, providing friendly, fast and easy service; Responsible; Good service mechanisms and procedures; clarity in administrative costs; Factors that support improving the image of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of Jambi Province in terms of excellent service at PTSP are the form of services provided to the community and, the facilities and infrastructure provided are very supportive of the service, while the inhibiting factor is the lack of competent human resources in PTSP, and there are still many It is the people who do not know the service administration system provided, especially the online administration system.

Abstract

Competition between job seekers is very high, this is evidenced by the high unemployment rate recorded by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recently which released Indonesia's labor conditions as of February 2019. Data shows the unemployment rate fell to 5.01 percent or decreased by 50 thousand people over the past year. The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) as of February 2019 was 6.82 million people. Judging from the declining unemployment rate, but when viewed from the level of education of diploma and university graduates more and more are not working. The researcher uses a qualitative-naturalistic approach with the aim of knowing the projections of promotion of Islamic higher education through 7P. Through this qualitative approach, it is hoped that a picture of the quality, social reality and perceptions of the research target will be raised without being polluted by formal measurements. The naturalistic approach demands data collection in a natural setting. With this concept, the researcher strives for the presence of the researcher not to change the situation or behavior of the person being studied.
