Abstract

Metabolism is one of the biology subject matter that is considered difficult by students, it can be seen from the low grades of students in the KD. This is because metabolism is an abstract material so we need the right media to help deliver the subject matter so that it is more concrete and easy to understand. The purpose of this study was to increase the activity and learning outcomes of biology through the use of power point learning media in class XII IPA MAN 4 Pasaman Barat. This action research method is carried out through the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. This action research was carried out in 2 cycles with 4 meetings. Data collection techniques using observation instruments and test scores for learning outcomes. The results showed that the use of power point learning media can improve student learning outcomes. This can be seen in the achievement of the first cycle which achieved completeness as many as 17 of 21 students with a percentage increase of 76% with an average value of 76.42 learning outcomes and an increase in the second cycle with 100% completeness with an average value of 85.92. It can be concluded that using power point learning media can increase student activity and learning outcomes on metabolic material in class XII IPA MAN 4 Pasaman Barat.

Abstract

Chemistry is a science based on inquiry; therefore it is called inquiry-science. Chemistry learning should also be done through an inquiry basis. This study aims to describe the implementation of the OE3R strategy on the balancing redox reactions material and obtain student responses towards the OE3R strategy. Learning must of course work in harmony with the characteristics of students, learning facilities, and learning environment. The concept of OE3R (Orientation-Exploration-Explanation-Elaboration-Reflection) is an innovative effort of inquiry-based chemistry learning strategic model. In this study, the development of an OE3R strategy was conducted at MAN Kota Batu in the academic year 2021/2022 for chemistry learning with the topic of balancing redox reactions. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. The description of implementation is obtained from observation during learning, while the student's response is obtained by collecting responses through a questionnaire. The implementation of the OE3R strategy is carried out on the students of MAN Batu with a total of 60 students. The results of this study indicate that the students gave a good response, mostly (85%) students agree that learning with the OE3R strategy can be used in chemistry learning, especially the topic of balancing redox reactions. Students feel that learning is meaningful and expect the OE3R strategy to be applied to other chemistry materials.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in activity and learning outcomes after the implementation of learning model Card Sort. This research is a classroom action research (PTK) is conducted in two cycles. The subjects were students of class V MIN 1 Kota Tasikmalaya totaling 20 pupils. Collecting data using observation method for learning activities and methods of testing for learning outcomes. Data were analyzed to determine the mean percentage. The results showed that an increase in the percentage of learning activities and learning outcomes. At the first I cycle average percentage of students learning outcomes amounted to 75,04% (middle category) and learning activities amounted to 50% (low category). At the second cycle the average percentage of students learning outcomes amounted to 94,05% (middle category) and learning activities amounted to 87,50% (high category). The implementation of card sort prove to increase the level of learning outcomes significantly and be able to improve students’s activities.

Abstract

Like virtual classrooms, distance learning programs are a space for interaction between students and teachers to be able to give and receive information that can increase their knowledge. However, the facts that occur in the field show that the distance learning system has an impact on the lack of student learning activities. This lack of learning activities also has an impact on the low acquisition of learning outcomes. This study aims to improve student activities and learning outcomes with the flipped classroom model in distance learning. This type of research is Classroom Action Research with the Kemmis McTaggart Model. The study was conducted on students of class VII-2 at MTsN 28 Jakarta with a total of 32 people. The time of the study was carried out from February to March 2021. The results showed that the flipped classroom model encouraged students to carry out learning activities and be involved in distance learning. This is indicated by an increase in the number of students who explain by 6.5%, answer questions by 29.1%, and provide responses by 21.4%. The increase in learning activities also has an impact on the acquisition of the average value of learning outcomes which continues to increase starting from 68.97 in the first cycle, 73.05 in the second cycle, and 77.18 in the third cycle. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the flipped classroom model in distance learning can improve student activities and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Student activities in learning greatly affect the process and learning outcomes. Based on the preliminary study, it is known that student activity in the learning process has not been maximized. It can be seen from the lack of student response during learning and the number of students who do not collect assignments. Factors causing this problem include students' difficulties in understanding the material, so they are unable to complete the tasks given by the teacher. The problem also comes from the teacher which is the limited time in face-to-face learning (PTMT). Hence, the learning material cannot be delivered completely. The purpose of applying the recitation method to make this video presentation is to increase student activity in learning, and the results of each student's video presentation can be used as a learning medium for other students. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. Based on the assessment results, it was found that there was an increase in student activity in learning. It could be seen from the increase in the percentage of students who collected assignments after the recitation method was applied to make video presentations. From the results of the previous assignment, there were only 18 students who worked out of 34 students. After applying this method, all students were active and collected the assignments. Therefore, there is an increase in the percentage of students working on assignments, from 52.9% to 100%.
