Abstract

With the development of an era that increasingly prioritizes technology, the curiosity of a human mind expects technology that can help human work, so it is undeniable that human work can be replaced by technology. This thesis proposal will design a device that can automatically water plants in pots. In plant maintenance, not many people can care for the garden healthily and properly, especially when watering the plants. By making this automatic plant design, it will provide assistance and convenience for ornamental plant lovers. This device aims to facilitate human work that was originally done manually, to be done automatically. By using Arduino Uno as its microcontroller, Soil Moisture Sensor to assess the level of moisture in the soil, as well as motors and Infra Red Sensors to determine the location of the pot that needs water

Abstract

This study examines how technology is used in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms in public and vocational high schools in Indonesia, focusing on teachers' practices and the challenges they face. Using a quantitative approach with a sample of 30 EFL teachers, the findings show that both groups are comfortable and skilled in using technology. However, vocational schoolteachers report significantly higher levels of technology integration and access compared to public school teachers. Key factors affecting technology integration include access to technology, technical skills, and effective integration practices. The results highlight the need for targeted professional development and resource allocation to promote fair technology integration in education. Ultimately, this improvement aims to enhance EFL instruction and better prepare students for a competitive global environment.

Abstract

An environmentally friendly fuel with great potential for use in transportation and industry is B40 biodiesel. It is a mixture of 60% diesel and 40% biodiesel. With an emphasis on engine performance, environmental impact, and financial incentives, the study assesses how beneficial its use can be. According to the findings, B40 biodiesel burns better and produces fewer carbon emissions compared to pure diesel because it has a higher cetane number. However, fuel consumption may increase due to the much lower energy content of biodiesel. B40 requires more maintenance to avoid hygroscopic effects, but it has been shown to improve lubrication and support heavy equipment operations in industrial environments. Implementing B40 has several benefits, including the ability to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Abstract

Hydroelectric Power Plants (HPP) are a type of power plant that utilizes renewable energy from water flow. The hydroelectric system works by converting the kinetic energy of flowing water into mechanical energy, which is then converted into electrical energy. Water flows through a penstock directed towards the turbine, where it strikes the turbine blades, causing rotation. To maintain the stability of the turbine's rotational speed at the Maninjau HPP, a governor system is used. The Maninjau HPP consists of four generating subunits with a nominal rotational speed of 600 rpm. The governor system functions to stabilize the turbine's rotation at the nominal speed of 600 rpm, as the speed affects the generator's output frequency. The stabilization process is carried out by adjusting the Guide Vane openings, which are the blades surrounding the turbine. The Maninjau HPP has a speed drop of 3%, with a frequency reduction of 1.5 Hz. Additionally, a frequency change of 0.1 Hz will result in a load change of 0.13 MW.

Abstract

File systems are key operating system components because they store and retrieve files as needed. Traditional hierarchical file systems no longer suit current users’ expectations in organizing extensive collections of files for easy retrieval based on intrinsic and user-defined properties. The number of files in users’ collections is growing substantially, partly because of the ease with which consumer devices capture information. With the enormous capacity of contemporary storage devices and the rising trend of users storing their data in the cloud, they only fuel the number of files needing to be managed. We suggest that current file systems require an enhanced technique of data organization and access so that users can properly handle these ever-increasing data collections. File systems are key operating system components because they store and retrieve files as needed. This study offers improvements to the conventional Hierarchical File System to improve file organization and retrieval through built-in querying capabilities and support filesystem-level operations that execute significant amounts of metadata updates. This is accomplished using attributes (name-value pairs) in a file collection hierarchy. A series of improvements to the HFS introduce the “AttFS” file system. These improvements include using attributes rather than names, logical collections rather than directories, and introducing a query language to the API. We assess the expressive capacity of the resulting model, demonstrate that it solves the relevant shortcomings of traditional file systems in this space, and compare our new approach to those provided by others and our earlier work. We conclude that attributes are better suited than tags to overcome traditional HFS shortcomings.

Abstract

This study aims to use the fishbone diagram as a tool to identify the causes of damage to the feeder mechanism of scrap machines and to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that can improve performance and reduce the level of damage. This diagram is used to evaluate various elements that contribute to the damage of the feeder mechanism, such as human, machine, material, method, and environmental factors. Through this evaluation, the main causes of the damage can be identified, and appropriate corrective actions can be formulated. In addition, this research also aims to design SOPs that ensure more efficient operation of the scrap machine and reduce the likelihood of operational errors. The implementation of mechanism improvements and SOPs is expected to enhance the reliability of the scrap machine, reduce downtime, and increase productivity in the mechanical technology laboratory. The findings of this study are expected to make a significant contribution to the development of management systems and equipment maintenance in both industrial and educational sectors.

Abstract

Courseware is an effective and important teaching and learning model, and it is at the core of the process of creating e-learning. The objective of this paper is to show effect of quality courseware on effective e-learning. A quantitative research approach by questionnaire has been utilized. A total 90 participants have been surveyed with the use of the questionnaire. This study shows that quality courseware was the most significant positive factor and more import e learning success.

Abstract

Cv. Adikarya Teknik is one of the manufacturing companies engaged in the field of mechanical engineering that produces wire mesh and conveyor table top chains. Cv. Adikarya Teknik has 6 projects that did not meet the 2024 work targets, resulting in delays in the completion of Conveyor Table Top Chain products. The delays are quite significant, with the work for Aqua Mineral Water being delayed by 11 days and Pocari by 10 days. Production analysis using the CPM and PERT methods to identify priority issues of delay risks and improve operational efficiency. By using the CPM method, it was found that the critical path of the Conveyor Table Top Chain production project lies in activities A-B-C-E-F-G-H-I-J-K-L-M-N (all located on the critical path). There is slack in activity D (Incoming Material); if it is delayed, it will not affect the critical path activities. The results of the PERT method on the Conveyor Table Top Chain project show that the probability of the conveyor production project being completed faster than the usual time, which is within a duration of 127 days, is 84%.

Abstract

With the increasing development of society, information is an important tool today. Information forces every person, both individuals and groups, both private and government, to calculate the information system that will be implemented in order to remain competitive in the era of globalization. In this case, the implementation of the right strategy allows every government agency to further improve services. In addition, the rapid advancement of information technology, but the lack of proper utilization. In general, the problems faced in the Information Technology Study Program Laboratory of Aisyiyah Pontianak Polytechnic are the suboptimal service of the inventory system where laboratory data is still manual so that the search time for equipment takes a long time. In instrumentation maintenance if it is still manual, it will be difficult to find out how many hours the equipment has been used and how many times it has been damaged. Along with the progress of Information Technology development, globalization is also becoming increasingly rapid. The specific objective of implementing the use of applications related to the theory of the concept of the course given to students. Analytical survey method with a Cross Sectional approach. The qualitative research design used is Phenomenological Research. The results of this study can improve the knowledge and skills of students, in improving knowledge in the field of Information Technology. Promoting the information technology study program at the Aisyiyah Pontianak Polytechnic.

Abstract

Plastic products are materials that we commonly encounter in everyday life, the use of goods made from plastic raw materials is increasing. Starting from products with simple shapes such as food and beverage packaging, household appliances, kitchen utensils, cosmetic containers, to automotive component products. The plastic injection molding process requires a variety of precise setting parameters, some of which concern heating temperature, amount of material used, cooling system, mold holding time, injection speed, and other parameters. These parameters are things that affect product quality and defects. Another reason for product defects is that the process parameter settings have not been standardized and the trial and error method is still used, so the results are not optimal. One of the defects that occurs in the oval tube cap product is a loose top cap defect (cannot close). This study aims to determine the effect of injection temperature and cooling time on loose top cap defects in oval tube cap products. This study uses quantitative research by conducting repeated experiments to collect data, this method is carried out by varying the injection temperature parameters, namely 210 ° C, 220 ° C, and 230 ° C with a cooling time of 8 seconds, 10 seconds, and 12 seconds. The results obtained from this study are that if the injection temperature used is lower, the level of defects that occur will be higher, while if the selection of a higher cooling time, the level of defects that occur will be lower. From this research, the correct parameters can be obtained at an injection temperature of 220 °C and a cooling time of 12 seconds.
