This study aims to describe the efforts of Islamic group counseling in addressing deviant behavior among students at the Faculty of Ushuluddin, Adab, and Dakwah (FUAD) IAIN Curup. Islamic group counseling is a guidance approach that combines modern counseling techniques with Islamic teachings, such as reciting verses from the Qur'an, praying together, dhikr, and reflective discussions. The research method used a qualitative case study approach with observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation techniques. The research findings indicate that Islamic group counseling effectively helps students recognize the negative impacts of deviant behavior, enhance religious awareness, strengthen self-control, and build commitment to change. The counseling process is implemented through stages of planning, group formation, counseling sessions, and periodic evaluations. Although proven to have positive impacts, the program faces challenges such as a shortage of competent counselors and insufficient supporting facilities. Therefore, institutional support and collaboration with student organizations are needed to ensure that Islamic group counseling can be implemented sustainably as a holistic and contextual model for student character development.

The important value of character education is the wisdom of differences in values and cultures in social life to create a nation's civilization. To achieve this goal, the education system in schools has developed 3 subsystems, consisting of the administration subsystem, the instruction subsystem and the student assistance or coaching subsystem (personal services for students). The field of guidance and counseling is one of the aspects in providing assistance/coaching to students. The development of educational character can be realized through the management of Islamic guidance and counseling. Related to the concept of management, the application or implementation of guidance and counseling management is one of the manifestations of a planned activity on how to organize guidance and counseling activities, optimize the human resources in the guidance and counseling organization to achieve goals, monitor the implementation of guidance and counseling activities, and evaluate the results of guidance and counseling activities. With the existence of Islamic guidance and counseling management, educational goals can be achieved, especially in strengthening the character of students.

Art counseling is a counseling method that uses art as the main tool to help people express their feelings, understand themselves, and find solutions to their problems. This method overcomes various emotional problems, including learning stress, which students often experience. Various sources of learning stress include environmental demands, academic pressure, and social expectations. All of these factors negatively impact students' mental, cognitive, and physical health. Calligraphy art therapy is one intervention method that has been proven to be effective. Students can overcome academic pressure in a creative and constructive way through calligraphy drawing activities, which makes them feel more relaxed and focused. Art counseling, especially calligraphy, can help students reduce learning stress in this article. Previous studies have shown that art can help people meditate and express negative emotions.

Calligraphy, as an art of writing closely related to culture and religion, is not only a form of artistic expression but also holds significant therapeutic potential. In psychology, calligraphy can be considered an effective form of non-clinical therapy to support mental and emotional well-being. Through the activity of drawing or writing calligraphy, individuals can express their feelings, manage stress, and enhance their psychological well-being. This study uses a literature review method to examine the impact of calligraphy on mental health by analyzing various relevant sources of literature. The analysis shows that calligraphy provides individuals with an opportunity to express feelings and emotions that may be difficult to articulate with words. The creative process in calligraphy helps relieve stress and anxiety, while also increasing self-control and a sense of achievement. Additionally, calligraphy involving hand movements and rhythm can have therapeutic effects similar to meditation, reducing emotional tension and improving mental well-being.
