Abstract

The role of a teacher is an indispensable aspect of the education world, particularly in fulfilling the national educational process standards. The teacher's role in promoting character education can be tailored to the cultural wisdom of a specific region. With the advancement of technology and changing times, the teacher's role in education may no longer appear as prominent. Consequently, teachers often carry out their duties without emphasizing their role as educators. This research employs a qualitative case study approach using Miles and Huberman's model. The findings of this study indicate that teachers function as guides and supervisors in the growth and development of children. They oversee the thoughts, words, and behaviors of both students and themselves, monitor the assessment results, and work on improving the behaviors, thoughts, and words of both students and teachers. The implementation of Sedulur Sikep character teachings by teachers involves three core character teachings: (a) "Angger-angger pratikel" (ethical behavior): Encouraging honesty in everyday life and teaching students not to harbor jealousy or greed towards their peers. (b) "Angger-angger pangucap" (language usage): Promoting the use of Javanese Krama Inggil when communicating with peers or teachers. (c) "Angger-angger lakonan" (patience and resilience): Advocating a patient, resilient, and composed approach to handling various challenges and issues. This research contributes to the understanding that cultural character plays a significant role in shaping the values and behaviors of individuals.

Abstract

The digitalization of a wide range of information poses a significant challenge in the current era, especially concerning the integration of Islamic values in early childhood education. This research delves into the Islamic education of young children within familial settings during the digital age, utilizing a "library research" methodology. Generally, digital technology offers a dual-edged nature. The advantages of such technology lie in its capacity to simplify access to information and assist educators in creating digital-based educational content. However, on the downside, it also provides children with easier access to potentially harmful content that may be inappropriate for their age. Islamic education for young children in a family context during this digital epoch must address the evolving dynamics of the times while implementing positive and transformative approaches. To achieve this, several initiatives can be adopted within the family: developing an understanding of child growth stages, being informed of the educational content being conveyed, particularly regarding Islamic teachings, mastering the ability to regulate the digital platforms frequently accessed by children, and leveraging digital media as a valuable tool for education within the home setting. This research contributes an understanding and methodology for preserving Islamic values within the family sphere while navigating the complexities of the digital age. It highlights the importance of balancing technological advancements with foundational religious teachings in early childhood instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of single fathers in the moral development of children aged 5-6 years in Nguwok Village, where morality is considered a crucial aspect of human development and life. The research method employed is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The subjects of this study are two single fathers with children aged 5-6 years residing in Nguwok Village, Modo District, Lamongan Regency. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation, with data analysis following the Milles and Huberman model. The findings from this research indicate that single fathers play a significant role in nurturing their children, including bathing, feeding, and assisting with homework. The second role involves providing education, particularly in moral values, the third is acting as a mentor, which includes accompanying and disciplining the children, and the last role is that of a friend, ensuring the child feels comfortable talking or sharing stories with their father. According to the research results, the moral development of children raised by single fathers shows a balanced development between capability and incapability. The aspects of moral development examined include speaking politely, practicing religious worship, expressing gratitude when receiving something, maintaining personal and environmental cleanliness, and apologizing when making mistakes.

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of using augmented reality flashcards in stimulating the cognitive development of 4-5-year-old children at TK Bina Ria, particularly in symbolic thinking abilities. The research employed a quantitative experimental model with a Pre-Experimental design, specifically the One Group Pretest design. The study population comprised children aged 4-5 years attending TK Bina Ria, with a sample size of 30 children selected using nonprobability sampling techniques. Data collection methods included tests, observations, and documentation. The research findings indicated that the use of augmented reality flashcards stimulates cognitive development in symbolic thinking abilities. Flashcards with relevant symbols, words, numbers, and pictures assist children in visually grouping, collecting, and organizing objects. This aids them in recognizing logical relationships, categorizing objects, and concretizing ideas. The study also noted that the preoperational stage, which involves various cognitive abilities relevant to children's symbolic thinking, aligns with Piaget's theory. Upon reviewing the results of the t-test, a Sig value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05 was obtained, indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest values. This significant difference is evident in the average scores before and after the implementation of the media, with a pretest average of 12.33 and a posttest average of 28.67. This study contributes to providing one method of stimulating children's symbolic thinking abilities through the use of augmented reality flashcards

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of angklung extracurricular activities on the musical intelligence of early childhood. It adopts an experimental research design with a pretest-posttest one-group design method, which allows for the evaluation of changes in musical intelligence before and after participation in the angklung activities. The research was conducted at TK BAIK Yogyakarta, involving 27 children aged 5-6 years in class B, ensuring a focused and specific demographic. Saturation sampling was chosen as the sampling technique, ensuring that all eligible participants from the population were included in the study. Data collection involved the utilization of a musical intelligence test instrument, carefully selected to measure the desired constructs effectively. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, providing a comprehensive overview of the participants' musical intelligence levels. The research findings revealed a significant increase in musical intelligence, as evidenced by the difference between the average pretest score of 79.85 and the posttest score of 84.96, with a difference of 5.11 points. This disparity underscores the positive impact of angklung extracurricular activities on enhancing the musical intelligence of 5-6-year-old children. The implications of this study suggest that incorporating angklung extracurricular activities into early childhood education programs can serve as a valuable approach for fostering musical intelligence development in young learners.
