Abstract

Stunting is one of the major health problems that has been the focus of the Indonesian government's health development programme for the period 2015-2019, in addition to the reduction in maternal and infant mortality rates, as well as the control of infectious and non-communicable diseases. Stunting is a chronic malnutrition condition that a child experiences from the womb to early growth, resulting in a child's height falling below the age standard. The aim of this study is to find out what mother knows about stunting prevention in young children in the city field. The design of the study uses a descriptive method with a cross sectional approach with a sample of as many as 30 respondents. The analysis was done by spreading the questionnaire given to the mother who had a baby. The results of this study showed that the knowledge of stunting prevention respondents Good is 28 people (93.3%), knowledge Less as much (6.7%) or as much as 2 respondents, and on knowledge of respondents classification Quite none (0%).

Abstract

Background: Clinical practice evaluation in nursing education is crucial to ensuring students have the competencies for optimal nursing practice, aligning with WHO standards. However, data from NCSBN indicates a significant need for more effective and comprehensive evaluation models. Aim: This aims to do a systematic review to identify and analyse evaluation models used in nursing education to enhance the quality of clinical practice evaluation for students, as well as strengths and weaknesses. Methodology: This systematic review was conducted by searching electronic database sources through journal search engines such as Google Scholar, ProQuest, CINAHL, PubMed, and Science Direct. The inclusion criteria were open-access journals published within the last five years (2018-2023). A journal search used key terms "mobile phone application" and "nursing students". Analysing using PRISMA and Software computer for journal review. Results: 12 eligible journals were found relevant to the topic out of 5,727 journals. Journals that were not eligible were excluded based on exclusion criteria. Each journal provided systematic information regarding methods of evaluating nursing students' clinical practice. Conclusion: Implementing appropriate evaluation models is crucial to enhance the quality of clinical practice evaluation for nursing students. The selection of evaluation methods should also be tailored to the evaluation objectives, available resources, and clinical education context. Combining multiple methods is often used to obtain a holistic and accurate picture of students' performance.

Abstract

Background: Nurses are integral to comprehensive patient care, addressing biological, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions. Spiritual care is a crucial component of nursing, ensuring patients' holistic well-being. Objective: This study explores the link between nurses' spiritual application and inpatients' spiritual fulfillment. Method: Conducted at Siti Khadijah Islamic Hospital, Palembang from October to December 2023, this quantitative research sampled 42 inpatients through simple random sampling. Data collected via questionnaires were analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods (chi-square). Instruments included "Aspects of Application of Spirituality" and the Spiritual Care Competency Scale (SCCS), alongside the Spiritual Needs Questionnaire (SpNQ) for assessing spiritual fulfillment. Results: the relationship between the application of the spirituality aspect of nurses and the fulfillment of the spiritual needs of inpatients is 64.3%, indicating that the application of the spirituality aspect of nurses is considered not good. Meanwhile, as many as 35.7% of patients indicated that the implementation of the spirituality aspects of nurses was good. Chi-square analysis (p=0.011) indicated a significant correlation between nurses' spiritual practices and inpatients' spiritual fulfillment. Recommendation: Enhancing spiritual practices requires structured interventions like spiritual skills training, framework development, monitoring systems, leadership support, and collaborative training. These measures aim to elevate healthcare service quality and ensure holistic patient care.

Abstract

Background: Effective communication is crucial in patient safety management, as it minimizes and prevents actions that could negatively impact nursing care. Effective communication involves strategies to ensure clear and accurate message delivery, enhance patient safety, and reduce work-related risks for nurses and other healthcare professionals. This can be initiated by adhering to Standard Operating Procedures for effective communication and leveraging virtual technology. Objectif: This research aims to identify the implementation of effective communication in the context of patient safety within nursing care settings. Method: The article search involved querying five databases: PubMed, ProQuest, ScienceDirect, DOAJ, and Garuda. The analysis method included selecting journals relevant to the research purpose and thoroughly reading each. Inclusion criteria for this literature review encompassed communication, nurses, nursing service settings, and journal articles published within the last five years. Exclusion criteria included journals that were not open access, articles with unclear or unstructured research methods, articles available only in abstract form, systematic reviews, and scoping reviews. Results: Through feasibility testing, eight journal articles were identified that demonstrated the application of effective communication in the context of patient safety. These included communication training programs, interprofessional team integration in service, and communication management focused on patient safety. Effective communication can be achieved successfully when nurses are adept at selecting appropriate communication methods tailored to the specific needs of the nursing service setting.

Abstract

Background: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a significant health issue that causes both physical and psychological distress, including heightened anxiety and depression. Islamic-based spiritual care practices may improve mental well-being in CHD patients. Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the ARIS Module (Anxiety and Depression Reduction through Islamic Spiritual Care) in reducing anxiety and depression among CHD patients. Methods: Conducted from September to October 2024 at Siti Khadijah Islamic Hospital in Palembang, the study included 84 CHD patients, divided into an intervention group (42) and a control group (42), selected through purposive sampling. A pre- and post-intervention design was used to assess anxiety and depression levels before and after the ARIS Module, which incorporates Islamic spiritual practices such as guided prayer, reflection, and recitation. Results: The intervention group showed a statistically significant reduction in anxiety and depression levels. Patients also reported increased peace, spiritual connection, and emotional stability, enhancing their coping abilities and overall quality of life. Conclusions: The ARIS Module effectively reduced anxiety and depression in CHD patients, highlighting the value of integrating spiritual care into CHD treatment for mental and emotional health. Suggestions: It is recommended to incorporate programs like ARIS module into healthcare settings, with further research to explore its impact across diverse patient populations.
