Abstract

Entrepreneurship has essence of a good character which is expected to be the driving force of the nation’s development.  Entrepreneurship is taught not to lead the child to be an entrepreneur, yet it is rather to form the basic behavior that is in the soul of an entrepreneur and it can be formed through a learning process.  This paper discusses about theory of learning cycle method and its roles to form the entrepreneurial behavior on early childhood.  There are several variations of learning cycle method that can potentially form the entrepreneurial behavior.  Keywords: entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial behavior, learning cycle method

Abstract

Unit block was one of famous children’s play materials. Children develop and practice variety of skills during play activities with blocks. Unit blocks help children to construct mathematical thinking skills and concept. The study was to reveal early mathematic thinking skills development children age 3-5 years old that showed during playing unit blocks. The unit blocks was used in this was Pratt’s Unit Blocks. Pratt’s block has a unique composition of block about 5 1/2" long by 2 3/4" wide by 1 3/8" in height.  In order to reveal this phenomena qualitative research method was implemented. Participant of the study were children of aged 3-5 years olds at East Jakarta.  Children were observed and interviewed during play. In order to strengthen the data play activities were also documented through photographs. The results shows children’s early mathematic thinking skills for children age 3 – 5  years old by playing unit blocks is children showed early mathematic matching skill such as classifying skill, comparing skill and ordering skill. Children has shown different types in each stage of their live. Theoretically early mathematic skill were performed through play unit blocks activities. Stimulation of early mathematic thinking skill will develop properly if children were have adequate play materials and environment. Abstract

The objective of this research entitled “The Effect of Scanning Technique on Students’ Reading Comprehension in Narrative Text” was to find out the effect of scanning technique on students’ reading comprehension. To answer the problem, the writer uses the theories: Amruster, Lehr, and Osbon (2003:10), Brown (2011), Grellet (1992), Howrd (2006:1), Jhon.W.Creswell (2009:12), Kustario (1988:1), Nuttal (1982:34), Pang (2003:6), Sarwono (2013). This thesis has done deal with descriptive quantitative method. The writer uses the first year students as population and takes 60 students as samples. The instrument to get the data the writer uses pre-test and post-test. The collected data were analyzed by using T-test formula. The result of data analysis showed that the mean score was 74.4 and the standard deviation was 6.7. based on the data analysis above, the alternative hypothesis was accepted because the T-observed was higher than T- table (3.83>2.00). it means that Teaching Reading Using Scanning Technique was effective to improve students’ reading comprehension.

Abstract

"Efforts Teachers Civics In the formation of Student Character at Madrasah Aliyah Muallimin UNIVA Medan". This research is motivated by the low level of character education of learners which become the cause factor of the lack of education of karkter during this time, because the learner is less or still low the character so that the character education needs to be applied to the learner, therefore the duty of the Civic teacher in school is to build and educating students through character education that can nurture the morale of students and practice it in daily life. The formulation of the problem in this research is (1) How is the implementation of Civics teacher in the formation of student character in Madrasah Aliyah Muallimin UNIVA Medan? (2) How is the method applied in terms of character formation of students in Madrasah Aliyah Muallimin UNIVA Medan? (3) What factors inhibit and support the formation of student character in Madrasah Aliyah Muallimin UNIVA Medan? The purpose of this research is to explain the Implementation, Method of Civic teacher in the formation of student character in Madrasah Aliyah Muallimin UNIVA Medan and factor and obstruct and support in the formation of religious character. Research conducted is included in qualitative research. In data collection, the researcher uses participant observation method, Interview and Documentation. Observations were used to obtain data on the implementation of the efforts of Civics teachers in the formation of religious character of students in Madrasah Aliyah Muallimin UNIVA Medan, while the method of interview and documentation used to explore data about methods and factors inhibiting and supporting the formation of religious character of students in Madrasah Aliyah Muallimin UNIVA Medan, and school infrastructure and documents. The results showed that the implementation of Civics teachers in the formation of characters that is by making syllabus and RPP, apply 5S habituation. The method used by the Civic Education teacher is a lecture that relates to the material to be taught, linking with the school's habits. Factors that support the efforts of PKN education teachers in the formation of the character that is the habit of daily behavior in the school, the awareness of students who grew from students to always do a commendable act in life, the existence of each teacher in the formation of the student's religious character, motivation and parental support as well as positive support from the environment. While the inhibiting factor is the social environment (association). The association of students outside the school, the lack of facilities and infrastructure to support the success of Civic teacher strategy in the formation of religious character in the students.Keywords: PKN Learning, Character Education

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes of grade V SD MIN Bukit KubuBesitang, through Realistic Mathematics Approach. This type of research is a classroom action research (PTK). This research uses Kemmis and Mc model. Taggart. The study was conducted in two cycles. Data of research result obtained from test result of student learning, observation result during learning activity using observation sheet of teacher activity in applying Realistic Mathematics Approach, student activeness observation sheet, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results showed that the results of learning mathematics students of grade V SD MIN Bukit Kubu. This is supported by the use of the Realistic Mathematical Approach which emphasizes the 8 aspects with regard to the effectiveness of the number of objects analyzed and the time for learning. Increasing the percentage of student learning outcomes for each cycle, ie on the first cycle of 65.52%, and for the second cycle of 86.21%. In addition, the average percentage of observation sheets of students' mathematics learning activity for each cycle, ie in cycle I of 42.28% and for the second cycle of 73.57%.

Abstract

Character education in values is very important to start in early childhood because of character education is the education process, aimed at developing values, attitudes, and behaviors that emit high moral or noble character, and 18 grains of values of character education, namely, Religious, Honest , Tolerance, Discipline, Work Hard, Creative, Independent, Democratic, curiosity, Excitement ethnicity, Love the motherland, Rewarding achievements, Friendly / communicative, Love Peace, Joy of reading, Care for the environment, social Caring, responsibility. In order for character education can be achieved, especially in early childhood, which is referred to as a golden age because at this age children easily able to absorb and imitate all that is seen, taste and hearing, then Education characters require special methods appropriate for educational purposes can be achieved. One of the learning methods suitable for early childhood is in the form of play that contains elements of habituation exemplary method is the method of playing a role that can be done with simple and does not require high costs so easy to use in the conditions and circumstances.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the low level of fine motor ability of the child in terms of folding, cutting according to the pattern, arranging the toys of building construction, and coloring more neatly and not out of line. This study aims to improve fine motor skills by using creative art models and coloring activities in the group B of Ar-Rozak Kindergarten. This research is a quantitative descriptive study. Subject of this research is student of Group B and object of research is fine motor ability by using creative art model and coloring activity. Methods of data collection used were observation, interview, and documentation. The results showed that fine motor skills through activities in students of Kindergarten of Group B were belonging to category of very good. The data obtained showed that the fine motor skills of the students of Group B of Ar-Rozak Kindergarten were 88.4%. Keywords: Creative Art Model, Coloring, Fine Motor Ability

Abstract

One of problems for early childhood kids is optimal growth and development of their empathy. Empathy is social concept which is needed to be introduced for kids because it has important role in social skill development. Empathy feeling cannot suddenly rise inside the kids, it occurs because of imitation and habitual action through environment. The less development of kids’ empathy feeling is caused by ineffective applied learning model for them. The problem formulation of this research was how the effective story telling learning model in order to increase early childhood kids’ empathy is. The goal of this research was to develop the effective story telling learning model in order to increase early childhood kids’ empathy. This research was Borg and Gall research development model, with stage consisted of Define, Develop, Product Experiment and Product Model.The subject of the research was Class B student of PAUD Az-Zaitun Medan. The object of the research was early childhood kids’ empathy. Based on the data analysis, it could be concludes that story telling learning model was significant in improving kids’ empathy. It was suggested for PAUD’s teacher to apply the story telling learning model as one of alternative learning model in improving kids’ empathy feeling.

Abstract

This study aims to increase interest in reading early childhood group B through the use of flashcard media in PAUD Harapan Bundaku Kec. Medan Kota Tahun Ajaran 2012 / 2013.This type of research is PTK (Classroom Action Research) .The result showed that after doing the action on cycle I during two meetings found the result that the average reading interest of children is 56% where, 2 children (8.7%) in very good category, 7 children (30,5%) in good category, 6 children (26%) in enough category, and 8 children (34,8%) in less category. In the second cycle action after the improvement of errors or weaknesses that occurred in cycle I, the average reading interest of children showed an increase up to 91.9% where, 19 children (82.6%) in the category of very good , 4 children (17.4%) in the good category, and no children occupying enough and less categories.
