Abstract

Abstract The humanistic approach in adolescent counseling offers a paradigm that emphasizes the positive potential of individuals, empathy, and authentic therapeutic relationships. This article explores the effectiveness of the humanistic approach in helping adolescents overcome various psychological challenges such as anxiety, academic stress, and identity search. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach through literature studies and case observations in several high schools in Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that this approach is able to create a safe, supportive, and empowering counseling environment. Key factors for its success lie in unconditional acceptance, the presence of an empathetic counselor, and providing space for adolescents to explore their own feelings and thoughts. The humanistic approach is also considered more flexible and in accordance with the needs of adolescent psychosocial development. This article recommends the integration of the humanistic approach in school guidance and counseling programs more broadly as a strategy to strengthen adolescent mental health in the modern era full of challenges.

Abstract

Mental health problems among students are increasing, while the number of professionals such as psychologists and counselors is still limited in many schools. Peer counseling has emerged as an effective alternative in providing psychological support in educational settings. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of peer counseling as an alternative psychological service for students in schools. With a qualitative descriptive approach and case studies in several secondary schools in Indonesia, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that peer counseling helps create a supportive environment, increases students' openness in expressing problems, and strengthens social relationships between students. However, the success of this program is highly dependent on adequate training and support from the school. This article recommends the development of policies and systematic training for peer counselors to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of the program.

Abstract

Digital-based Guidance and Counseling (BK) services are a form of innovation that emerged in response to the rapid development of information technology. This innovation allows counselors to provide services to students flexibly, efficiently, and in accordance with the needs of the digital generation. This study aims to describe the form of implementation of digital-based BK services, their benefits, and the challenges faced in their implementation. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation in several high schools in Indonesia. The results of the study show that digital BK services are able to increase the accessibility of counseling services, encourage active student participation, and expand the reach of psychopedagogical information. However, there are challenges such as limited technological infrastructure, counselor digital competence, and data privacy issues. Therefore, collaboration between schools, government, and technology providers is important to maximize the potential of this service. Digital-based BK services are believed to be a strategic solution in responding to the dynamics of counseling needs in the digital era, as well as an adaptive step towards an inclusive and responsive education system to developments in the era.

This article aims to analyze the Guidance and Counseling (BK) approaches used to address cyberbullying among students. This study uses a qualitative approach with case studies in several junior and senior high schools. The results of the study indicate that BK teachers have a strategic role in providing preventive, curative, and educational services through individual counseling, group counseling, and cross-party collaboration such as teachers, parents, and authorities. In addition, the application of humanistic and cognitive-behavioral approaches has proven effective in helping victims of cyberbullying rebuild self-confidence and develop healthy coping strategies. Abstract

Digital transformation in education has a significant impact on the dynamics of learning and students' academic expectations. Amidst increasingly tight academic competition and pressure to excel in the digital space, students need to strengthen an adaptive and resilient mentality. This article discusses the strategic role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers in fostering a growth mindset, the belief that abilities can be developed through effort and learning in high school students. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method in three high schools in Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that structured counseling interventions, personal support from BK teachers, and the integration of self-development programs into the curriculum can significantly improve students' growth mindset. This article recommends strengthening the capacity of BK teachers in digital literacy and positive psychology as a systematic effort to face the challenges of increasingly complex digital academic competition.
