Abstract

The independent learning campus policy (MBKM) by the Minister of Education and Culture of Indonesia has given a new nuance in implementing education in higher education. Students through MBKM are given the right to get hands-on experience in the field for a minimum of three semesters through eight activity programs, one of which is an internship in industry. Industrial internships are learning activities off campus or in the field that involve students, universities, and industry. Partner industries strongly influence the success of this internship program, as industrial internships in the MBKM program require students to study in partner industries for six months. The purpose of this study is to describe the support of industrial partners in the implementation of industrial internships and to describe the forms of industrial support in realizing student independence in learning. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research was conducted in 39 partner industries in the industrial internship program for students of the Automotive Engineering Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University, in 2020, spread throughout Indonesia. Data collection techniques are forum discussion groups (FGD) and documentation. The results show that at the MBKM internship planning stage, partner industries have been involved in mapping the number of students who can participate in the program, offering models of internship forms according to partner industry conditions, and evaluation models that allow optimizing the implementation of internships. At the internship implementation stage, the partner industry supports students conducting industrial practices in their field of interest. It will enable participants to analyze partner industry deficiencies, find solutions, and apply them directly to the field.

Abstract

This paper provides an overview of Televisi Edukasi, a Television program and channel developed by the Ministry of Education and Culture to provide learning support. Televisi Edukasi has been active for a long time in Indonesia that can reach remote and outer areas with the help of satellite transmitters. Has content for educational and teaching activities as well as information about the policies of the Ministry of Education and Culture. Televisi Edukasi content can be used as content or learning material in the classroom, for the deepening of learning material either done in class with the subject teacher, studying at home under the guidance of the teacher or independent student learning. The government utilizes Televisi Edukasi to support learning that took place during the Covid Pandemic 19 period. With the help of Relay from TVRI, students can watch learning shows that have been made by Televisi Edukasi. However, efforts need to be made to increase the utilization of Televisi Edukasi programs both during the Pandemic and post-pandemic periods, as in fact there are still many limitations that occur so that education has not been optimally utilized in Indonesia both in structured learning activities and also in student independent learning activities.

Abstract

Creative and critical thinking are the two abilities required to grasp the opportunities and to upper-hand the challenges in the current digital era. Both complement each other. However, the assessments that involved both aspects of ability in one package are relatively limited. Further exploration is needed to develop new assessment model. The construction of the model begins with literary studies, develop, and try out the model. There are six constructions composed as the procedural framework, and another one for creative thinking: (C1) Parse, (C2) Deviate, and (C3) Modify, while the ones for critical thinking are : (C4) Verify, (C5) Compare, and (C6) Conclude. There are three assessment models that were feasible to be developed which refers to the 6 sub-variables: Self-Assessment, Multitype Objective Test, dan Problem Solving Case Study. The models have been tested on 32 informatics students, Hasnur Polytechnic, Indonesia. It turned out that the problem solving case study was no longer reliable, the best option were only Self-Assessment and Multitype Objective Test. The findings show that with Kruskal Wallis there are significant differences detected based on the assessment results among the models. So Multitype Objective Test is considered to be the best option.

Abstract

This study aimed to: (1) develop numeracy learning videos appropriate for elementary school students; (2) determine the validity of the numeracy learning videos based on assessments from material, media, and language experts; (3) assess the practicality and attractiveness of the videos from the perspectives of teachers and students; and (4) identify the effect of using the videos on students’ numeracy skills. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects were elementary school students, teachers, and expert validators. The instruments included validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and numeracy skill tests. The results showed that the developed numeracy learning videos were highly valid (average score ≥ 4.5 out of 5), practical, and engaging for students. There was also a significant improvement in students’ numeracy skills after using the videos. In conclusion, the developed numeracy learning video was feasible for use as an instructional medium in elementary schools and is recommended for broader implementation.
