Abstract

Aim: This paper aims to investigate the realities of starting a business in the countryside, and more specifically, in mountainous regions. This study examines the unique characteristics of the business ecosystem structure in the mountainous Pyli area, Region of Thessaly, Greece, and its population, two central aspects of rural entrepreneurship according to existing literature.Methodology: One-third of the local businesses were included in the field study, which was deemed sufficient for the research’s aims. Research information was gathered from participants via predetermined questions.Findings: The results corroborate previous research and aid in formulating new policies to revitalize Greece’s rural communities, which have been hit hard by the country’s protracted economic downturn.Implications/Novelty: The paper set out to stimulate more generic policy innovation to foster the bottom-up development of local approaches to bolster rural entrepreneurship in mountainous areas, particularly during times of crisis.

Abstract

Aim: This paper describes the Sustainable Integrated Community Advancement Program, the University’s framework for social orientation and community involvement initiatives (SICAP). Community Development Programs, the Integrated Components of Extension Programs, Academic and Service Units, and the Commission on Higher Education, Philippines, all benefit from the framework’s comprehensive and oordinated approach to stakeholder engagement.Methodology: Using the Sequential Explanatory Method, which permits the collection and analysis of quantitative data to be followed by the collection and analysis of qualitative data, the researchers employed a mixed research methodology.Findings: The findings demonstrated that the programs had integrated the participants into national life and vitality and fostered participation, empowerment, and enhancement. By adopting and utilizing the proposed framework, the University was able to create and launch timely, appropriate, and effective programs.Implications/Novelty: The findings from this study will serve as the foundation for new policies, guidelines for their implementation, and a shift in the University’s priorities.

Abstract

Aim: The purpose of this research is to use the case study of Kraiumnuayvittaya Army Sponsor School to develop proactive professional networking strategies for increasing teacher engagement in private schools.Methodology: Information was gathered from the school’s administrator, principal, school board members, and teachers through narrative inquiry and in-depth interviews for this phenomenological study.Findings: Proactive professional networking strategies were found to consist of (1) problem joint strategies, (2) teacher leader strategies, and (3) expertise strategies, all of which were found to increase teacher engagement in private schools. To better understand how to most effectively influence effective teacher engagement in the private school, each strategy was examined through a research and development approach within a school year.Novelty/Implications: This research’s discussed tactics were inspired by an apparent chasm between the school’s administration and its faculty. The study’s overarching goal was to shed light on how school board members, principals, and teachers at all levels perceive the school’s progress toward successfully implementing a change in teachers’ engagement.

Abstract

Aim: The study’s goals are i) to create an online restaurant ordering system that uses an e-commerce framework and (ii) to develop a client-side application that displays restaurants according to the diner’s preferences in terms of cuisine type.Methodology: The correct steps of the System Development Life Cycle, including planning, analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance, were followed in this paper. The information was gathered by secretly watching patrons at various eateries.Findings: Eatsarap is a mobile app developed digitally. It has been successfully planned and implemented that PH will be used. EatsarapPH was built on an e-commerce infrastructure to facilitate transactions between diners and eateries.Implications/Novelty: The app makes life easier for diners and eateries by streamlining the ordering process, managing the menu, and processing payments online. This innovative layout benefits both diners and establishment owners.

Abstract

Aim: This research aims to learn more about the struggles undergraduate students in Thailand have when writing in the English language and the strategies they employ to overcome those difficulties.Methodology: Using a questionnaire with five-point Likert scale items, 157 students enrolled in an intermediate English course provided quantitative data for this study. The data was analyzed with the help of the mean score, the standard deviation, and a chi-square test.Findings: According to the findings, the student’s writing skills were significantly below par, with the majority of complaints focusing on grammar. It was also discovered that the subjects routinely used cognitive strategies, most notably resourcing. There was no correlation between students’ writing proficiency and the types of writing strategies they employed.Implications/Novelty: Teachers, curriculum developers, and policymakers can use the results to better understand their students’ struggles with written English. It also emphasizes the importance of teaching students writing strategies so they can employ them to overcome any writing challenges they may encounter.

Abstract

Aim: The study aims to provide up-to-date information on the growth of East Taiwan’s hostel industry, which offers tourists a low-cost alternative in the otherwise pricey tourism sector. The area of Hualien County we use as an example is quite small. Since there had been a void in the literature due to the rapid pace of change, this study set out to fill it.Methodology: The SWOT analysis used in this study was developed from data gathered through observation and archival research.Findings: According to this study, East Taiwan is blessed with a wealth of pristine natural resources that are likely to draw in more tourists looking for leisure activities. Challenges unique to the area included erratic weather, a lack of convenient public transportation, and prohibitively high prices. Opportunities included better public transportation and more eco-friendly, active attractions like whale watching, boating, and staying in a hostel or bed and breakfast. Overdevelopment of sites, an over-saturated market, and a workforce with wildly varying skill sets posed risks to the natural environment.Novelty/ Implications: The results suggest that the development should be in sync with local traditional styles, that transportation and roads should be upgraded, that information should be more readily available via specialized websites, and that people should be better trained. It’s important to take precautions to ensure that pristine natural environments aren’t ruined by construction.

Abstract

Aim: To prepare for the demographic windfall of 2035, this study seeks to understand how Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPA) contributes to developing strong identities among the elderly. For the elderly, TPA is a tool for achieving ego integrity. Learning to recite the Quran while upholding Islamic principles is known as TPA.Methodology: This research, which employs qualitative methods such as interviews and observations, examines the experiences of three elderly female victims of the Mount Merapi eruption in Yogyakarta, which is currently being monitored by the TPA. As a result, we can state the following as our "findings:" The results show that TPA helped the elderly maintain their sense of self-worth. This study’s findings will help the elderly achieve TPA ego integrity. The elderly who can put aside their pride and contribute meaningfully to their communities will help the government reap the benefits of the demographic dividend.Novelty/Implications: The results are helpful because elderly people with strong senses of self-worth can contribute to government efforts to deal with the demographic dividend by helping to maintain economic stability and social cohesion in their communities.

Abstract

Aim: The purpose of this study is to provide a detailed description of the barosok maxim and its connections to Kant’s ethical theory as they pertain to the West Sumatera animal market.Methodology: Qualitative research methods were used in this exploratory study. In the deductive approach, interviews are used to collect data, which is then analyzed using content analysis.Findings: The model of categorical imperatives outlined in the Kantian Theory was found to be related to the central values of Barosok through research. The implementation of Kantian Theory on business ethics in the barosok tradition in West Sumatera is still being used today, even though the research also discovered an ethical conundrum among market participants.Implications/Novelty: Ethical investigations into Indonesia’s animal-trade industries can benefit from this study. In the future, researchers may examine the barosok method’s ethical value in light of Indonesian legislation.

Abstract

Aim: The study’s primary goal is to examine the role of Ramkhamhaeng University-RU, Thailand, in the career development of its undergraduate students. (2) to evaluate the pros and cons of various careers, and (3) to display the advice these deserving students give.Methodology: Four hundred undergraduates from the Schools of Law, Business, Humanities, Education, Science, Political Science, Economics, and Human Resource Development were randomly selected for this study. The data was gathered using a set of five rating scale questionnaires. The data was used to analyze the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and One-way ANOVA.Findings: As a result of this study, we know the following: (1) Students place a moderate amount of weight on their own interests and social considerations when making career decisions. Still, more weight is given to family considerations. (2) In terms of career planning, students wanted to work before and after college; (3) When comparing factors for students to choose their careers, the opinions of the students who differed in sex, fathers’ education and occupation, and students’ employment status showed concurrent differences at the statistically significant level of Last but not least, (4) about suggestions for undergraduate career planning, the university should offer more activities to help students get ready for career planning.Novelty/Implications: Planning a career, deciding on a career path, and building one’s career are all pivotal moments in a person’s life that last a lifetime. This research has explored these factors and provided helpful insights that benefit students, educators, and policymakers.
