Abstract

Aim: This paper aims to show how local women’s community-based entrepreneurial activities have improved the management and conservation of Kakamega Forest. Recent research has shown that the western Kenyan Kakamega Forest is rapidly being cut down. In many cases, locals are held responsible for this issue. This paper, however, argues that native communities have historically played critical roles in protecting forest ecosystems.Method: Approximately 149 women from local entrepreneurship and conservation groups (chamas) were polled via questionnaire.Findings: Many of these women increased their income through forest conservation efforts. Sixty-two percent of those surveyed reported growing and domesticating wild, native plants for use as food or medicine. These actions helped protect native species while reducing ecological stress on the forest’s meager resources. Nearly 20% of people polled had a professional connection to producing eco-friendly jikos or stoves. It was hoped this would lessen the need to cut down trees for firewood.Implications/Novel Contribution: This study’s original contribution is its inquiry into the impact of women’s community-based entrepreneurial activities on the management and conservation of Kakamega Forest. It is unclear how much women’s networking and conservation initiatives have helped preserve forests.

Abstract

Aim: The probability of preserving the Kandyan dress through video documentation is analyzed in this study. The research aims to shed light on the video documentation method as a practical means of preserving cultural heritage by discussing its benefits, challenges, hands-on approaches, and transcending methodology.Method: The data from this study will be analyzed qualitatively with the help of the literature review and theoretical frameworks.Findings: The Kandyan dress is created using a technique similar to sculpting, in which the fabric is shaped by pressure applied to the wearer’s body. This clothing is significant for anthropology and history because it reflects various social and economic factors and has a unique design.Implications/Novel Contribution: To better understand the potential and limitations of this practice and methodology, social scientists can use this application and overview.

Abstract

Aim: The study’s overarching goal is to review and advance Libyan criminal law by uncovering and analyzing domestic violence and studying it in depth, openly, and independently. Compare and contrast international social science research. So that Islamic law will be treated equally. The study also seeks to keep an eye on the legal system and to determine what the law is by comparing the legal sanction set by Libyan legislators with Islamic law.Method: Using a descriptive analysis strategy, the researcher compiles information from textbooks and encyclopedias on Libyan criminal law. Information about Islamic law comes from a variety of books called fiqh. The researcher then organizes the information by topic and reviews it using the lens of Libyan law and the opinions of four prominent ulemas. The final steps of any scientific process involve making comparisons and drawing conclusions.Findings: The outcome demonstrates that the Libyan lawmaker has followed Islamic principles in legitimizing domestic violence. In some instances, however, the law must be applied in a way that diverges from its usual form to protect human rights, public safety, and social stability. The inability of the law to evolve and adapt to changing circumstances is the root cause of the situation. Domestic violence and improper use of a mediator are left to the jurisdiction of criminal law, which is why they are not addressed directly in Libyan family law. The clarification of the family condition in criminal law, however, will help to strengthen the argument.Implications/Novel Contribution: Due to the relevance of the topic, the researcher hopes to attract the attention of those in charge at judicial bodies, human rights organizations, and scientific institutions so that they can receive a comprehensive study of these crimes, complete with analysis, description, development, and treatment of deficiencies, as well as codification of new standards, all of which are in strict accordance with Islamic law.

Abstract

Aim: This article examines the perspectives of Chinese students and faculty regarding their learning and teaching styles, intercultural understanding, and pedagogical skills. With the backdrop of declining state and federal funding for public education in the United States, competition for students, and a strong academic desire for the internationalization of higher education, universities have begun to focus on global issues to promote global citizenship among their student bodies. Bridgewater State University (BSU), a public institution of medium size, was an early adopter of signing a partnership agreement and collaborating with a third-party organization in China to recruit students.Method: Quantitative and qualitative methods were used to compile the analytical discussion analysis. This article focuses on the international educational model KAP: Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practice and how it applies to theories of interpersonal communication and the growth of communication and management.Findings: The results indicate that students across China are drawn to BSU’s summer program in Shanghai. Colleges and universities in the United States and Canada have no problem recognizing, accepting, and transferring credits earned at American institutions like Bridgewater State University and Canadian university summer programs. Implications/Novel Contribution: The significance of this case is1) To showcase the innovative approach of BSU to provide academic opportunities for international students to complete a portion of requiredand elected courses taught by BSU faculty and2) To avoid the cost of building and maintaining international campuses or branches abroad.
