Abstract

Wealth distribution in Islam plays a crucial role in achieving social justice and equitable welfare. The wealth distribution policies implemented by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) encompass principles of justice, humanity, and solidarity, with the aim of reducing social inequality and strengthening the economy of the ummah. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized the importance of zakat, alms, charity, and waqf as primary instruments for distributing wealth, not only to meet the basic needs of the poor but also to empower them through more sustainable programs. The eight categories of zakat recipients (fakir, miskin, amil, muallaf, slave, gharimin, fisabilillah, and ibnu sabil) reflect Islam's concern for fulfilling the basic rights of individuals and ensuring fair wealth distribution. In Indonesia, the application of the wealth distribution principles taught by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) remains relevant in addressing issues of poverty, social inequality, and community-based economic development. The management of zakat and waqf by institutions such as BAZNAS and the Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI) has made significant progress in utilizing these resources for economic empowerment and poverty alleviation. This article aims to examine the wealth distribution policies of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and analyze their relevance and challenges in the context of Indonesia today. The research findings indicate that the implementation of Islamic wealth distribution principles in Indonesia has the potential to strengthen social solidarity, reduce economic inequality, and build a more just and prosperous society.

Abstract

The promotion of MSME products in Panai Tengah District is still limited to the use of social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp. Moreover, disorganized product management makes it difficult for customers to access information. This situation causes MSME flagship products to be less recognized in wider markets. Therefore, innovative solutions are needed to help MSMEs utilize digital technology more effectively. This study aims to develop a web-based e-commerce system using OpenCart to enhance the competitiveness of MSME products while addressing challenges in digital product management. The research method employed is research and development (R&D) with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The resulting system is capable of organizing products digitally with a more structured, professional, and customer-friendly display. The findings indicate that the implementation of OpenCart improves product visibility, expands customer access, and significantly contributes to the competitiveness of MSMEs in the digital marketplace. Furthermore, this system helps MSMEs reach consumers in broader regions through integrated search and online marketing features. By utilizing web-based technology, MSMEs in Panai Tengah District can expand their market reach, enhance product appeal, and support local economic growth. This study concludes that digital technology like OpenCart plays a crucial role in the digital transformation of MSMEs, improving promotional strategies, and fostering the sustainability of MSMEs in the digital era.

Abstract

The development of digital technology opens up great opportunities for home industry players to expand product marketing. However, many businesses face obstacles in utilizing it optimally. This research aims to develop an OpenCart-based e-commerce website to improve home industry promotion in Payakumbuh City and Agam Regency. The research method uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Stages include analyzing the needs of business actors, conceptual design, development using OpenCart, implementation, and evaluation of effectiveness through trials and user feedback. The results showed that the developed website features a product catalog, digital payment, order tracking, and social media integration. This platform increases product visibility, simplifies transactions, and expands the market by 50%. In addition, user testing and feedback showed high satisfaction with the ease of use and effectiveness of this website. This research contributes to encouraging digital transformation for home industry players. By utilizing OpenCart-based e-commerce technology, this research successfully supports local economic growth through increased market access and transaction efficiency. This platform becomes a model for the implementation of digital solutions in the MSME sector, especially in areas with great local economic potential.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the use of OpenCart as a creative promotional strategy for home industry products in Sijunjung Regency. Home industry products in this area have good quality, but the promotional methods used are still traditional, such as direct marketing. This method is considered less effective for reaching a wider market, especially in the current digital era. It is hoped that the use of digital platforms such as OpenCart can be a more efficient and effective solution in marketing products online, making it easier to manage sales, expanding market reach, and opening up bigger business opportunities. This research uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model. This research involved online interviews with six MSME owners in Sijunjung Regency who focused on two product categories, namely processed food and handicrafts. These interviews provide a clearer picture of marketing issues and their expectations regarding the use of digital platforms. The result of this research is the development of a website-based digital platform with features such as product catalogs, digital payments, order tracking, and social media integration. In this way, it is hoped that it can help local economic growth through marketing that is more creative and responsive to consumer needs. Apart from that, it is hoped that this platform can be an example for other MSMEs to utilize digital technology to increase competitiveness in a market that is increasingly competitive and developing rapidly in this digital era. This can also make a positive contribution to the regional economy by expanding markets and improving the overall welfare of society. With the hope, this digital technology will create bigger and more innovative business opportunities.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a web-based digital platform using the OpenCart application to optimize the marketing of MSME products in Palupuh District. So far, MSMEs still rely on traditional promotional methods which limit marketing reach and product introduction, both at the local and global levels. In the digital era with rapid technological developments, MSMEs have a great opportunity to expand market reach, increase competitiveness, and support local economic growth through digital platforms. This research uses qualitative methods with a Research and Development (R&D) approach which refers to the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The research stages include identifying user needs, system design, platform development, to implementation and evaluation with MSME actors. The research results produced a web-based digital platform with intuitive and easy-to-use features, specifically designed to support the marketing of UMKM products. Effectiveness tests show that this platform significantly increases product competitiveness, expands market access, and increases the introduction of UMKM products to the public. With this platform, it is hoped that UMKM in Palupuh District can compete in the modern market and utilize digital technology in a sustainable manner for business development. This research makes a real contribution in supporting the digitalization of UMKM in rural areas.

Abstract

This study aims to assist craft SMEs (UMKM kriya) in Tambangan, North Sumatra, in maximizing their marketing potential by utilizing Open Chart technology. Currently, the promotion of craft products is still carried out manually and traditionally, making it difficult for these products to gain recognition in wider markets. With the rapid advancement of technology, the adoption of digital tools like Open Chart is expected to help SME actors better understand their business data in a simple and effective way.The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with stages including Define, Design, Develop, and Decimation. Data was collected through direct interviews with SME actors and observations of their operational activities. The analysis results were then used to design an Open Chart prototype tailored to the needs and usability of SME actors.The results of this study show that Open Chart can assist SME actors in monitoring sales, understanding market trends, and developing more effective marketing strategies. This tool also enables them to expand their market reach and enhance the competitiveness of their products at both local and global levels. This solution is expected to help craft SMEs in Tambangan grow and contribute to the regional economy in a more modern and strategic manner.

Abstract

Annie Tupang Weaving Business is one of the MSMEs producing Sipirok’s traditional woven fabrics with high cultural and aesthetic value. Each motif on the woven fabrics carries cultural significance derived from the 'abit godang' of South Tapanuli. In the digital era, this MSME faces challenges in promoting and marketing its products due to reliance on limited traditional methods, such as word-of-mouth marketing and basic social media use. These limitations result in reduced market reach and low promotional efficiency. This article aims to develop an online promotion system using the OpenCart platform as a digital solution to enhance competitiveness, expand market reach, and improve operational efficiency. The study adopts the Prototype Development Model (PPE), comprising three main stages: Planning, Development, and Evaluation. During the Planning stage, a needs analysis was conducted through interviews and observations of business processes. The Development stage included the installation and configuration of the OpenCart platform to meet system requirements. The Evaluation stage involved functional testing and user feedback. The results demonstrate that the OpenCart-based system provides effective features for managing product catalogs, online payments, order management, and transaction tracking. Furthermore, it reduces the costs of traditional promotions, such as brochure printing, and improves the consumer experience through more practical access. In conclusion, implementing an OpenCart-based e-commerce system using the PPE model can be a strategic step to support MSME development in the digital era, particularly in significantly enhancing the promotion of Sipirok’s traditional woven products.

Abstract

Designing a digital-based home-based MSME business is a strategic step in increasing market accessibility, especially in Mandailing Natal Regency which has great local economic potential but limited market access. This research aims to design a digital-based business model using open-source platforms such as openchart to support the digitalisation of MSMEs. MSMEs often face challenges in marketing their products widely due to limited access and digital capabilities. This research was conducted with a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Waterfall model is a classic model that is systematic, sequential in building software. The name of this model is actually ‘Linear Sequential Model’. This model is often referred to as the ‘classic life cycle’ or waterfall method. This model belongs to the generic model in software engineering and was first introduced by Winston Royce around 1970 so it is often considered ancient, but it is the most widely used model in Software Engineering (SE). This model takes a systematic and sequential approach. It is called waterfall because the stages passed must wait for the completion of the previous stage and run sequentially. The results showed that the implementation of openchart-based e-commerce can increase the market accessibility of MSMEs by up to 40%, expand consumer reach, and increase the marketing efficiency of local products. Openchart is proven as a user-friendly and efficient platform for the digitalisation of MSME businesses in Mandailing Natal, Openchart-based digitalisation increases market accessibility by expanding consumer reach, both locally and nationally.

Abstract

 Digitalization is one of the important factors and has become a primary need in improving the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), especially in the era of technology-based economic transformation. However, many home-based MSMEs in Sungai Aur sub-district still face challenges in adopting e-commerce technology, such as lack of technical understanding, limited resources and lack of access to affordable technology solutions and access to relevant solutions. This research aims to design an open source-based platform using openchart, tailored to the local needs of MSMEs, to improve their digital competitiveness and adapt to the changing modern business landscape and expand their market reach. This research uses a Research and Development (R&D) method that involves a needs analysis. The needs analysis was conducted through interviews with home-based MSME players in Sungai Aur sub-district to identify and understand their constraints and specific expectations and needs. Next, a prototype e-commerce platform was designed using a user-centered design approach to ensure ease of use and relevance of features. The results and research show that the designed openchart-based platform is able to meet the needs of MSMEs in product management, transactions and digital marketing, and also this platform improves the operational efficiency of MSMEs and expands their market reach. Findings. The findings of this research are that the development of an openchart-based e-commerce platform using the R&D method can be an effective solution in helping home-based MSMEs in Sungai Aur sub-district transform towards digital, while strengthening their competitiveness in the wider market.

Abstract

Medan, North Sumatra, has great potential in the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), especially in home industries that produce local speciality products. However, challenges such as limited market access and low utilisation of digital technology are the main obstacles for MSME players in expanding marketing reach and increasing competitiveness. This research aims to design OpenCart-based digital promotional media as an innovative solution in supporting the development of MSMEs in the region. The research was conducted using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) approach. At the analysis stage, the needs of MSME players and product characteristics were identified to ensure a relevant and effective solution. The design stage involves creating an OpenCart-based system designed to support product catalogues, online payment systems, as well as integration with social media. Next, the development stage realised key features tailored to user needs. System implementation is done through direct testing with MSME players in Medan. Finally, the evaluation stage measures the effectiveness of the platform through user feedback and sales data analysis. The results show that OpenCart-based digital promotion media can significantly increase the visibility of MSME products. Within the first three months, businesses reported an increase in sales of up to 25% thanks to the use of this platform. This research concludes that OpenCart-based digital promotional media can be a strategic step to support the digital transformation of MSMEs, improve competitiveness, and expand their marketing reach in the digital era.
