Abstract

The background of this research is the lack of understanding of parents and the absence of a manual regarding menstrual personal hygiene for adolescent girls with Down syndrome. The purpose of this study was to determine the need for the right media to increase parents' understanding of menstrual personal hygiene for children with Down syndrome. The subject selection technique was purposive sampling which was adjusted to the criteria that had been made by the researcher, namely 35 parents with the characteristics of having Down syndrome young women who menstruating, early adulthood to middle adulthood, and domiciled in Karisidenan Surakarta. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis used descriptive analysis based on the results of SPSS and interviews. The results of the study obtained a final value of 3.35 which can be defined as very needy. In the interview, it was found that parents needed a guidebook on menstrual personal hygiene for adolescent girls with Down syndrome. It can be concluded that parents really need a guidebook regarding menstrual personal hygiene for adolescent girls with Down syndrome.

Abstract

This research aims to know the correlation between achievement motivation with academic stress on student of PLB FKIP UNS who takes the class from home during the Covid-19 pandemic. The population in this study was all students of PLB FKIP UNS. The sample in this study were 77 students of PLB FKIP UNS year 2018. The sampling technique used in this study was saturation sampling technique. This research is a quantitative research with correlational research type. The data collection techniques in this study used a scale of achievement motivation and scale of academic stress. The data analysis techniques used in this study was Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results of this study have a value (r)=-0.15 and correlation coefficient of 0.896. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between achievement motivation with academic stress on student of PLB FKIP UNS year 2018 when taking class from home during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the need for media, especially innovative visual media in learning mathematics for deaf students in Surakarta. The method used in this study was qualitative and quantitative. The subjects of this study were 35 teachers from several special schools in Central Java. The data collection technique using a questionnaire with a Likert scale refers to the aspects of the need for mathematics learning media, namely the interesting media aspect, the media convenience aspect and the media suitability aspect. The data analysis technique used a descriptive analysis approach. The results obtained an average of 3.27 (very high) for the attractive media aspect, 3.33 (very high) for the ease of media aspect and 3.31 (very high) for the media suitability aspect. Towards innovative visual media is included in the very high category.

Abstract

The background of this research is that parents of autistic children have difficulty in handling and continuing the communication learning program from school. Many parents feel they do not have special guidelines in practicing communicating with autistic children at home. This study aims to determine the needs of parents for a guide to practice communicating at home. The research approach uses a quantitative-qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were 93 parents of autistic children in several special schools in Central Java. The data collection technique used a questionnaire instrument totaling 15 statement items. The questionnaire in this study used a Likert scale with 4 alternative answers, namely very need, need, need less, and don't need. The data analysis technique in this study used a descriptive analysis approach through SPSS 26 software. After the data was analyzed, the data were interpreted descriptively. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the level of parental need for guidelines to train autistic children's communication at home is in the very high category.

Abstract

A person's success in reaching a point in the learning process depends on oneself and the environment, a great desire is in line with the effort used, this desire is called motivation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning motivation in science for mentally retarded students on learning outcomes in schools providing inclusive education. This research technique uses quantitative research. The research subjects were teachers at the School of Inclusive Education in Surakarta City. The results of data processing and statistical testing obtained a significance value (Sig) of 0.031. Thus, the value of Sig. 0.031 < probability 0.05, thus H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. It can be concluded that "there is an influence of learning motivation on student learning outcomes".
