Abstract

Tolerance as a character trait is the cornerstone of building and maintaining harmony among humankind, especially in the context of students in schools. Teachers play a crucial role in instilling tolerance through Islamic religious education. This study aims to explore the planning, implementation, and impact of Islamic religious education (PAI) learning in shaping tolerance among students at UM International Lab Junior High School and SMPN 20 Malang. The results show that both schools have similar approaches in planning and implementing Islamic religious education to foster tolerance, using active methods such as inquiry, group discussions, and demonstrations. Additionally, the impact of this learning includes increased appreciation for differences in gender, social background, abilities, age, and opinions in the classroom. Based on Albert Bandura's Social Learning Theory, observation and imitation of positive teacher behaviors play a significant role in shaping students' tolerant attitudes. Karakter toleransi merupakan pondasi utama dalam membangun dan mempertahankan harmoni antar umat manusia, khususnya dalam konteks peserta didik di sekolah. Guru memiliki peran penting dalam menanamkan karakter toleransi melalui pembelajaran pendidikan agama Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan dampak pembelajaran pendidikan agama Islam (PAI) dalam membentuk karakter toleransi di SMP Internasional Lab UM dan SMPN 20 Malang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa SMP Internasional Lab UM dan SMPN 20 Malang memiliki pendekatan serupa dalam perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran agama Islam untuk membentuk karakter toleransi, dengan menggunakan metode aktif seperti inquiry, diskusi kelompok, dan demonstrasi. Selain itu, dampak pembelajaran ini mencakup peningkatan penghargaan terhadap perbedaan gender, latar belakang sosial, kemampuan, umur, dan pendapat di kelas. Berdasarkan Teori Pembelajaran Sosial Albert Bandura, observasi dan peniruan perilaku guru yang positif berperan penting dalam membentuk sikap toleransi siswa.

Abstract

The curriculum plays a vital role in the education system, determining the direction and effectiveness of the teaching and learning process. The Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum in Indonesia has undergone frequent changes, facing challenges in terms of effectiveness and relevance to the needs of the times. This article explores the organization of the PAI curriculum, encompassing four types of organization: separate, correlated, unified, and integrated. The research method employed is qualitative, utilizing a literature review to evaluate the structure and implementation of the PAI curriculum. The evaluation reveals that although there has been progress in the integration of religious education in public schools, challenges such as balancing religious and general knowledge, as well as adapting to changing times, persist. This study concludes that there is a need for the development of a more effective and relevant PAI curriculum that aligns with the objectives of Islamic education. Kurikulum berperan penting dalam sistem pendidikan, menentukan arah dan efektivitas proses belajar-mengajar. Kurikulum Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di Indonesia sering mengalami perubahan, menghadapi tantangan dalam efektivitas dan relevansinya dengan kebutuhan zaman. Artikel ini mengeksplorasi organisasi kurikulum PAI, mencakup empat jenis organisasi: terpisah-pisah, berkorelasi, satu kesatuan, dan terpadu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka untuk mengevaluasi struktur dan implementasi kurikulum PAI. Evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa meskipun ada kemajuan dalam integrasi pendidikan agama di sekolah umum, tantangan seperti keseimbangan antara ilmu agama dan umum serta adaptasi terhadap perubahan zaman tetap ada. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan perlunya pengembangan kurikulum PAI yang lebih efektif dan relevan dengan tujuan pendidikan Islam.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students' science learning outcomes through the implementation of the Cooperative Learning model, specifically the Question Student Have type, in fourth-grade students at SDN 230 Massenrengpulu, Sibulue District, Bone Regency. The research method employed was classroom action research (CAR), consisting of repeated cycles of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed that the application of the Question Student Have model significantly improved students' science learning outcomes. This improvement was accompanied by an increase in student involvement in the learning process, such as an increase in the number of questions asked and students' ability to answer questions. These findings are in line with Bloom's Taxonomy, which emphasizes the importance of appropriate instruction and formative assessment in achieving learning mastery for all students. This study suggests the need for further training for teachers in managing group discussions and implementing cooperative learning strategies, as well as the use of visual aids and technology to support more effective learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran IPA melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning tipe Question Student Have pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 230 Massenrengpulu, Kecamatan Sibulue, Kabupaten Bone. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), yang terdiri dari siklus perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi secara berulang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Question Student Have secara signifikan meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA siswa. Peningkatan ini disertai dengan peningkatan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, seperti peningkatan jumlah pertanyaan yang diajukan dan kemampuan siswa dalam menjawab pertanyaan. Temuan ini sejalan dengan teori Taksonomi Bloom, yang menekankan pentingnya instruksi yang tepat dan penilaian formatif dalam mencapai ketuntasan belajar bagi setiap siswa. Penelitian ini menyarankan perlunya pelatihan lanjutan bagi guru dalam pengelolaan diskusi kelompok dan penerapan strategi pembelajaran kooperatif, serta penggunaan alat bantu visual dan teknologi untuk mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih efektif.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in determining a nation's progress, as it equips individuals with the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to address global challenges through quality education. This paper explores the relationship between the quality of education and national development, as well as the negative impacts of low-quality education. Furthermore, this paper discusses Paulo Freire's perspective on education as a tool for liberation, emphasizing the importance of dialogical approaches, critical consciousness, and contextual relevance in the educational process. Freire's approach is proposed as a solution to address various challenges in Indonesia's education system, particularly regarding disparities in access and quality of education in remote and marginalized areas. Additionally, this paper evaluates the significance of revitalizing Ki Hajar Dewantara's educational principles in creating a more inclusive, relevant, and empowering education system. This research concludes that the implementation of more democratic and inclusive educational concepts can contribute significantly to positive social transformation in Indonesia.   Pendidikan memegang peranan penting dalam menentukan kemajuan suatu bangsa, karena melalui pendidikan yang berkualitas, masyarakat dapat dibekali dengan keterampilan, pengetahuan, dan sikap yang diperlukan untuk menghadapi tantangan global. Tulisan ini mengeksplorasi hubungan antara kualitas pendidikan dengan perkembangan suatu bangsa, serta dampak negatif yang timbul akibat rendahnya kualitas pendidikan. Selain itu, tulisan ini juga membahas pemikiran Paulo Freire tentang pendidikan sebagai alat pembebasan, yang menekankan pentingnya pendekatan dialogis, penyadaran kritis, dan relevansi kontekstual dalam proses pendidikan. Pendekatan Freire ini diusulkan sebagai solusi untuk mengatasi berbagai tantangan dalam sistem pendidikan Indonesia, terutama terkait kesenjangan akses dan kualitas pendidikan di daerah terpencil dan terpinggirkan. Selanjutnya, tulisan ini juga mengevaluasi pentingnya revitalisasi prinsip pendidikan yang dikemukakan oleh Ki Hajar Dewantara dalam upaya menciptakan sistem pendidikan yang lebih inklusif, relevan, dan memberdayakan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan konsep pendidikan yang lebih demokratis dan inklusif dapat berkontribusi secara signifikan dalam mendorong transformasi sosial yang positif di Indonesia.

Abstract

Bullying is an aggressive behavior that has become a significant issue among junior high school students in Indonesia. This study employed a literature review method to identify the underlying reasons behind this phenomenon. To provide a comprehensive explanation, this study examined three primary perspectives: peers, school environment, and parental influence, to answer the research question, "Why do junior high school students in Indonesia bully their peers?" The findings indicate that bullying among peers is often influenced by social constructions, such as group norms or peer pressure. Within the school environment, factors contributing to bullying include weak enforcement of regulations and non-compliance with existing rules. Meanwhile, inappropriate parenting styles and poor quality relationships between parents and children also contribute to bullying behavior. This research is expected to serve as a reference for bullying prevention efforts among students. However, further research is still needed to identify additional factors that may contribute to the bullying phenomenon in secondary schools.   Perundungan merupakan perilaku agresif yang telah menjadi masalah signifikan di kalangan siswa sekolah menengah pertama (SMP) di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kajian pustaka untuk mengidentifikasi alasan-alasan di balik fenomena tersebut. Dalam upaya memberikan penjelasan yang komprehensif, penelitian ini mengkaji tiga perspektif utama: teman sebaya, lingkungan sekolah, dan pengaruh orang tua, untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian, "Mengapa siswa SMP di Indonesia melakukan perundungan terhadap teman sebaya mereka?" Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perundungan di antara teman sebaya sering kali dipengaruhi oleh konstruksi sosial, seperti norma kelompok atau tekanan teman sebaya. Di lingkungan sekolah, faktor yang berkontribusi terhadap perundungan meliputi lemahnya penegakan peraturan dan ketidakpatuhan terhadap aturan yang ada. Sementara itu, gaya pengasuhan yang kurang tepat serta kualitas hubungan yang buruk antara orang tua dan anak turut menjadi faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap perilaku perundungan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi dalam upaya pencegahan perundungan di kalangan siswa. Namun, penelitian lebih lanjut tetap diperlukan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor tambahan yang mungkin berkontribusi terhadap fenomena perundungan di sekolah menengah.
