Abstract

The Influence of Guided Inquiry Learning Model toward The Interest of Learning Study of Biology Student Cross-Interest. This quasy Experiment research aims to determine the influence of guided inquiry learning model toward the interest of biology students learning cross-interest involving 66 high school students in Tenggarong Seberang. The research design used non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The data analysis of the increase ofstudents’ learning interest in the application of this learning model was obtained from the mean of N-Gain, while the influence of inquiry learning model was guided against the interest of learning done through t-test for normal distributed data and U Mann-Whitney U test for abnormally distributed data. Based on data analysis, it was found that biology learning interest score after learning process in experiment and control class was significantly different (sig. (2- tailed) <0.05). In addition, there was an increase in student interest in the low category but significantly different (U test = 257.0 <Utabel = 818). Keyword: Guided inquiry, cross-interest, interest in learning.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v8.i1.201803

Abstract

Enhancing students’ activity and science concept mastery using guided-inquiry based practical manual. This quasi-experimental research aimed to understand the effectiveness of guided-inquiry based practical manual for improving students’ activity and concept mastery of science. Sixty students from SMP Negeri 1 Natar were selected as research samples in this study. This research used two types of data that is quantitative data (pretest, postes, and n-gain) and qualitative data (learning observation and student activity). The results showed that high n-gain score (0.70) for both experimental class 1 and 2. In addition, the assessment of student activity in experimental classes 1 and 2 is also quite good with the score is 86.44% and 85.84%, respectively. Therefore, the use of guided inquiry based practical manuals is highly recommended to improve students’ learning activities and mastery of the science concept. Keywords: Practical manual, guided inquiry, students’ activity, science concept master DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v8.i1.201801

Abstract

This study was aimed to improve the learning achievement of reinforced concrete construction that had not reached the Pre-Determined Minimum Criteria of Standard Mastery (KKM) through the implementation of Think Talk and Write (TTW) learning model. This research involved 31 students of SMK in Wonosari Sub-District, Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta. The research design used was Classroom Action Research (PTK) one cycle consisting of: (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. Data collection techniques used were observation techniques, questionnaires, testing, and documentation analyzed by qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. The instruments used were observation sheets, questionnaires, interview guides, and test instruments. The results showed that the TTW learning model significantly improved the achievement of student learning outcomes. The results were shown from the results of the percentage of students’ learning mastery in the first cycle with the number of 18 students showed the percentage of 58.06% and the second cycle with the number of 27 students showed a percentage of 87.1%, so there was a 25.8% increase. In addition, the TTW learning model was able to improve student’s learning activities from first cycle to second cycle with the average gain value of 0.3625 which indicates that the inhancement of student’s learning activities was in the medium category. The overall increase in student activity and learning outcomes was supported by the students’ positive responses to learning that applied the TTW learning model. Keywords: Learning, Think Talk and Write (TTW), Learning Achievement.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v8.i1.201805

Abstract

Analysis of Student’s Learning Obstacle Type and Wrongness Mathematical Answer of Rectangle Concept and its Altenative Solution. The aim of this study is to analyze the student’s learning obstacle and wrongness mathematical answer on the concept of rectangle. The study involved 28 junior high school students in Surakarta, Central Java, using a quantitative method. Based on the results of data analysis, identified 5 types of student’s learning obstacles based on their answers, that were variation information, concept image, relation between rectangle’s area and circumference, student’s ability to answerthe task, and relation between one concept to anothers . One alternative to overcome the learning obstacle and wrongness mathematical answer was by applying the didactic design which were consisted of RPP, Student Worksheet as well as Prediction of Response and Anticipation Didactic. Key Words: Learning obstacle, wrongness mathematical answer, didactic design DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v8.i1.201801

Abstract

Role Playing Method in teaching profession learning. This study aims to evaluate the influence of the role playing method on student learning outcomes and activities. This research was conducted on the students of English Education Study Program of Indraprasta PGRI University in the first semester used Classroom Action Research (PTK) method, which was consisted of 65 students.. Data collected techniques used observation and evaluation. The results showed that the role playing method gave a significant influence in the lecturing education proffesion subject. In other words, the student’s learning outcomes and activity were increasing. These results can be seen from each cycle, 72% for the first cycle and 86% for the second cycle. Keywords: role playing, educational profession DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v8.i1.201806

Abstract

Effectiveness of integratid practicum in natural science based on guided inquiri. The research objective was to determine the effectiveness student worksheet based discovery learning for improving concept mastery of science. The research method was quasi experimental with preetest-posttest design. Random sample selection from population VIII SMPN 1 Natar South Lampung in academic year of 2016-2017, so that obtained VIIIB dan VIIL class as sample. Quantitative data in the from of pretest, posttest, and n-gain. Qualitative data in the form of observation result of practicality of learning proces and the student activity in learning. The result showed that the use of integratid practicum in natural science based on guided inquiri.to improve concept mastery of science. That showed with high n-gain of experiment class 1 is 0,70 and the experiment class 2 is 0,70. The practicality of learning proces and the student activity in learning is also very high, that is in experiment class 1 and experiment class 2 the practicality of learning proces is 85.38% and 84.04%, while student activity is 86.44% and 85.84%. Key words: Practicum guided book, guided inquiry, mastering of science concept. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v8.i1.201804
