Abstract

This design aims to simplify the process of controlling devices such as lights, LED strips, and fans for users in the era of globalization and modern technology. The subject of this research is to ease user interaction with various devices in a room or space. The control system is designed using an Internet of Things (IoT) network based on Arduino, utilizing the BLYNK application and Relay as a switch for the application. A Smart Room is a solution for leveraging technology to create an intelligent space capable of regulating temperature, lighting, and electronic devices automatically. This research evaluates the ability of the technology to meet the needs of modern living spaces and discusses the technical and ethical implications of implementing smart rooms. The results indicate that smart rooms have the potential to simplify life and enhance comfort, but also require consideration of ethical issues and privacy concerns. This study provides direction for the development of better and more responsible smart room technologies.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a real-time notification system for the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) Trans Koetaradja application managed by the Aceh Department of Transportation, focusing on improving user responsiveness and reliability. Observations revealed that the existing notification feature was ineffective—it only functioned when the application was open, failed to operate in the background, and did not personalize information based on user location. A qualitative descriptive approach was applied using the User Centered Design (UCD) method to create a system that adapts to user needs through stages of requirement analysis, prototype design, and user evaluation. Based on questionnaires distributed to thirty respondents, 87% expected automatic notifications when the bus approached their stop, while 73% wanted customizable alerts based on routes and preferred schedules. The prototype, developed with Adobe XD, includes location-based notifications, adjustable reminders, and clearer visual indicators. Evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS) resulted in an average score of 81.2, categorized as Excellent, with 90% of users expressing satisfaction with the improved system. The findings demonstrate that applying UCD effectively enhances notification speed, accuracy, and relevance, while strengthening public trust in digital-based transportation services in Banda Aceh.

Abstract

The CKAN 2.7 platform provides basic functionality for open data portals; however, it requires customization to meet the specific needs of an organization. This study aims to address the research problem of how to design and implement a CKAN 2.7 extension to enhance the interface and functionality of the Open Data Portal at the Communications, Informatics, and Encryption Agency of Aceh Province. The research method applied is Research and Development (R&D) with a waterfall system development model. The extension was developed using Python, Jinja2, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and deployed in a virtual environment (VirtualBox 7.1 with Ubuntu 14.04 OS). The advantages of the successfully developed extension include: integration of local Aceh identity into the user interface, addition of a filtered search feature, improved directory structure, and a more dynamic dashboard display (showing dataset and active user counts). Therefore, this study provides a technical solution that not only meets functional requirements but also strengthens the local branding of the government’s open data portal.

Abstract

Insufficient parking capacity and the absence of real-time information regarding slot availability remain persistent issues in public facilities such as campuses, shopping centers, and office buildings. These conditions contribute to traffic congestion, time inefficiency, and suboptimal parking management. An automated and accurate monitoring system is required to provide immediate information for both parking administrators and vehicle users. This research aims to design and implement a parking slot monitoring system based on the ESP32 microcontroller using ultrasonic sensors to detect vehicle presence. The system is integrated with an Internet of Things (IoT) dashboard, allowing parking availability to be monitored through an internet connection. The methodology includes hardware design, software development, IoT integration, and functional as well as sensor accuracy testing. Each parking slot is equipped with an ultrasonic sensor to measure the distance between the sensor and the object positioned in front of it. Distance data are processed by the ESP32 to determine whether a slot is occupied or vacant. The processed data are transmitted to an IoT server via Wi-Fi and displayed on a dashboard in a structured visual format. Experimental results demonstrate that the system operates according to design specifications and provides real-time parking availability information with reliable detection accuracy. The proposed system supports more efficient parking management and accelerates the process of locating vacant slots.

Abstract

Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, requiring an effective system to support early and objective diagnosis. This study aims to develop a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) to determine heart disease risk levels using the Fuzzy Mamdani method. The research methodology applies the Waterfall software development model, consisting of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, and testing stages. The system is developed using the Laravel framework and MySQL database, with input variables including age, blood pressure, cholesterol level, maximum heart rate, and ST depression processed through fuzzification, inference, and defuzzification. System testing was conducted using the Cleveland Heart Disease dataset to evaluate the reliability of the fuzzy inference results. The results indicate that the system is able to produce accurate and consistent heart disease risk levels in accordance with the defined fuzzy rules. Therefore, the proposed DSS can effectively support early heart disease diagnosis.
