Abstract

Thinking, a very convoluted process is the mental phenomenon that is most difficult to elucidate or express in terms of complexity. Each individual's unique way of taking in and processing the information they encounter is their "thinking style." The present research study examines the relationship between student teachers' thinking styles, attitudes towards ICT and computer confidence among student teachers. The researcher in this study attempts to identify the thinking variables that may directly or indirectly affect students' attitudes towards ICT and computer confidence. Samples for this study have been taken from student teachers enrolled in Bachelor of Education in Mumbai region, Maharashtra, India. Information and communication technology are crucial in this knowledge era, especially regarding the educational journey. The capacity to think critically helps teachers use technology in the classroom for information creation, management, and distribution. The Thinking Style Inventory, established and standardized by Robert J. Sternberg in 1997, was used in this study to gather data on the thinking pattern of student teachers. The standardized questionnaire was developed by Nash, John B., and Moroz, Pauline A. (1997) to assess student teachers' attitudes towards ICT and computer confidence. The quantitative data were analyzed with the SPSS program. The findings indicate that a favourable attitude towards ICT may be attributed to enhanced computer confidence and the promotion open and creative thinking abilities. Student educators should gain positive technological experience.

Seeds contain appreciable quantities of phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, sodium, iron, and manganese, whereas they have high levels of calcium and iron. Baobab has numerous biological properties including antimicrobial, anti-malarial, diarrhea, anemia, asthma, antiviral, anti-oxidant, and anti-inflammatory activities amongst others. The review summarizes the information on various aspects of medicinal properties and importantly mineral content of the tree.

Abstract

In an age of existential turmoil, post-apocalyptic fiction envisions a depopulated world—a world ravaged by war, plague, ecocide, or cosmological judgments. Often times, it is mankind's own hand that strikes. But the story doesn't end there. Because the post-apocalyptic world is often a place of survival and afterlife, nothing like the bleak wasteland of Cormac McCarthy's The Road (2006). Set in a world ravaged by an unnamed cataclysm, the novel examines the ecological, psychological, and sociological changes that take place after the apocalypse. Just as the "before" world is replaced by the "after" world, the memory of the past should be replaced by the beginning of the future. But just as we cannot write outside language, we cannot write outside past and memory. As much as they attempt to portray a lifeless world, post-apocalyptic fiction, against its will, evokes memories, undoes the end, and brings new life to life. Even post-apocalypse can't be the end of the story because it's ultimately a story itself.

Abstract

This paper assessed the challenges facing tertiary education in Nigeria with the view of addressing them systematically. To do this, the paper employs the use of content analysis to extract pieces of literature fit that are suitable for the topic. Secondary data were the major data used in the paper and they were collected from both print and online publications. The paper concludes that inadequate funding, infrastructural facilities, shortage of personnel, Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), indigenization of Principal Officers, cultism/insecurity, Autonomy, leadership, Brain-drain syndrome and poor motivation are some of the problems that are facing tertiary education in Nigeria. Based on these problems identified, the paper suggested the following: the government should increase the funding of tertiary institutions in Nigeria. There should be a master plan for infrastructural facilities development in all the tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The government should direct all tertiary institution administrators to employ more staff. The federal government should remove the tertiary institutions' staff from Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS). The government should discourage the indigenization of Principal Officers in public institutions and insist on merit in the appointment of principal officers of tertiary institutions in Nigeria, etc.

Abstract

The article provides an analytical overview of the reasons for post-World War II prisoners of war in camps in Central Asia and Uzbekistan, the conditions of the camps, and the involvement of prisoners of war in the national economy. In order to keep prisoners captive, the General Directorate of risoners will be established within the Interior. The deployment of prisoners of war across the former Soviet Union was uneven. There were more camps and, of course, more prisoners of war in areas where destruction was the result of the war. They did this under the convoy control[4]. Japanese prisoners of war worked in less favorable weather conditions in Uzbekistan than in the cold climatic zones of the northern and eastern parts of the former Soviet Union. Apart from these camps there was an evacuation hospital No. 1054. Military camps are organized in the regions of Kazakhstan, such as Aktyubinsk, Almaty, East Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kyzyl-Orda and Shymkent. Even in the early postwar years, prisoner camps were often ineffective in recruiting prisoners for labor, and for failing to meet the standards of labor, due to the lack of skills of officers and guards who were hired to oversee them. During the last years of the war, the mortality rate among prisoners has increased in the early years due to the dramatic increase in prisoners in the camps, their out-of-state combat and transported to camps with disease on the road, and insufficient sanitation..
