The study focused on liquidity management and its effect on the performance of commercial banks in Nigeria. The study adopted correlational research design. The scope of the study was between 2008 to 2018, a period of 10 years. The study data were collected from the annual report of CBN and NDIC. The data were analysed with the aid of OLS. The study used Non-performing loan ratio, cash reserve requirement, Loan to deposit ratio and liquidity ratio as the components of liquidity management while financial performance was measured as return on equity of Nigerian commercial banks. The study revealed that cash reserve requirement, loan to deposit ratio and liquidity positively and significantly impact the financial performance in Nigerian commercial banks while non-performing loan ratio exhibits a negative but significant relationship with the performance of strategies to reduce non-performing loans. In addition, the managers should revise the loan approval process of their banks so as to reduce the level of nonperforming loans in their banks. Also, that Central Bank of Nigeria which is the nation’s apex bank should supervise and formulate policies that will encourage banks to improve on their international functions.

Abstract

This paper examines the effects of financial inclusion on female entrepreneurship in selected region of Cameroon. The researchers used binary logit model on secondary data extracted from Cameroon Enterprise survey 2016. The results of our findings revealed that financial inclusion has positive and significant effects on female entrepreneurship in Cameroon in general and in those regions in particular. Working capital from commercial bank as well as Microfinance Institutions has positive and significant effects on female entrepreneurship. The Pseudo R-Square shows that financial inclusion indicators used account for 8.75% of variations in female entrepreneurship. Variations in female entrepreneurship in Cameroon can therefore be explained by financial inclusion. Base on the fact that our results have shown positive and significant link between financial inclusion and female entrepreneurship, the following recommendations are made to reduce barriers to financial access so as to encourage female entrepreneurship in Cameroon. The priority should first be to implement the national gender policy and to expand it to include economic empowerment, and ensure that all government ministries are required to play their part in implementing it as this will go a long way to encourage female entrepreneurship in Cameroon. Secondly Commercial bank should be more relax on their credit policies (such as co-suety, business plan, sales books in place of collateral security) so as increase female access to credit and thus, entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Organisations' most valuable resource is their human resources, and keeping excellent workers on board is essential for those looking to gain a competitive edge. Organisations use a variety of human resource management (HRM) strategies to control employee churn. The term "Generation Y" refers to the particular generation, often known as the "millennial" or "Internet generation," that was born between the 1980s and the early 1990s. This research investigates the connection between generation Y employee turnover intention and HRM practices. The HRM practices included in the study are perceived training, compensation, performance appraisal, and turnover intention since they are seen to be the key practices with the most effects on an organisation's success. In Bangladesh's private sector, Gen Y's inclination to leave the job is a serious issue.

Abstract

This study explored the relationship between exchange rate volatility and trade balance in Nigeria using annual time series from 1981 to 2020. The study focused on the impact of exchange rate volatility on Nigeria’s balance of trade account, imports, and exports. Exchange rate volatility was measured using GARCH (1,1) variance series derived from the real effective exchange series. Other explanatory variables considered were inflation rate and interest rate, while balance of trade account, imports, and exports were the dependent variables. Error correction models were adopted for the analyses and estimated by the ordinary least squares technique. The findings revealed that exchange rate volatility positively impacts on the balance of trade account, imports and exports in Nigeria with about a very close magnitude. In addition, inflation was very responsive in reducing trade account balance, imports and exports. Although it reduced exports more than it reduced imports. On the other hand, interest rate did not impact on balance of trade and imports but showed a positive impact on exports in Nigeria.
